1:23 close your eyes and listen. Her voice almost sounds like a muted trumpet. her tone is so clear that she sounds like an instrument! Her technique is EXQUISITE, beautifully intricate and delicate. She has incredible control.
0:16 her voice could be a stringed instrument. i'm in love
In this role yes. In other roles however a la the Queen of the Night, that is not a good thing.
Jose Hill well if it's perfect here why bring it up? :/
you're right; her voice wouldn't work well exactly like this for the Queen of the Night aria.
but have you listened to Diana Damrau do the doll song? everybody says she has the PERFECT Queen of the Night aria, but NOBODY says she has the perfect doll song...
these two wonderful performers are talented in their own right. they can't do exactly what the other can, but they're both still wonderful
☽ аиаѕтаsіо ☾ agree 100% about Damrau’s Doll Song.
To me, she sounds like a flute! I'm a little biased, though.
My abs hurt just listening to this song.
Mia Hartford
It sounds like a song you would hear in a Tom and Jerry cartoon, well at least to me
Well, my throat is tormented.
Stupendainterpretazione e facile emissione vocale. Stupenda aria della "bambola". Grazie per averla fatta conoscere a chi ama la bella musica e il bel canto.
thank you for posting this, I love actually seeing the notes from the original score go by as it is performed.
Sang this as my senior (college) recital final piece.
I want to learn to sing this so, so bad
start early training your airway to be able to do that. it is more than just vocal cords. the learning process to sound like this is extensive.
One of my friend know how to sing that, it's actually awesome and years of work !
one of the best versions on youtube
Worst? Someone sang high Ab, but she didn't!
Beethovenethylenenium Music i'm tired of people thinking that the only thing that constitutes musical talent is vocal range 🙃🙃🙃
there are a plethora of reasons why this version is incredible. she doesn't NEED to go up to the Ab. she never had to.
@@beethovenium6443 Show me one soprano singing the Ab6 with a released tone, full resonance and gola aperta, and without spreading the mouth and raising the larynx.
I think you will find it hard to find, because it's physically possible (except for maybe a handful of "freak" voices), and explains why there is no Ab6 in the score.
A well developed soprano can reach Eb6 with full resonance. Some sopranos can reach F6 in full resonance, making them coloratura sopranos. These limits are the physical limits of the female voice organs.
To reach higher, you need to use a different muscular coordination - the whistle (flute, flageolet) register - which is more or less built upon constricting the throat and pushing, which is much easier than singing in full voice.
So an flageolet Ab6 is easier to sing than a full resonant C6, for instance. So it's not the hight of the pitch, but the quality of tone that is evidence of great singing.
dope as fuck
Luciana Serra ♡♡
Muchas gracias, espero presentarlo en mi violin el prox año en enero
3:12 amazing
I want to learn this so bad, it seems to fun!
Who is this woman? I listened to this unexpectedly and I’m charmed…
Why do I think of an old-fashioned fairy tale princes???
This piece is something that classical Barbie should put into.
Why does I love the intro more than the entire song
Tryna learn this song only by listening to it, wish me luck.

Hello, could you please tell to me: where can i find piano sheets for free download?
Glad that I can speak French , I like to sing other ones but the language barrier gets in the way .
Got to send in an audition tape by the the end of the week. How tf do I do the runs?! I can reach the notes but the mass amount of notes gives me a headache
n how was it???
Sarah Sutho Official terrible but i got the role that I wanted-only for it to be taken away since rehearsals and presumably the performance are cancelled cuz of the coronavirus... 😭
@@nuthead8888 lord ... hope this corona thangg ends soon
You learn it in slow motion and then slowly speed it up to the original tempo. It has to sound as natural as if you were simply breathing :)
@@sarahsuthoofficial lmao imagine that
I don´t know how to make that light sound, I can hit those notes, but in my voice it sounds much more bigger I don't know how to explain it. I'll have to ask my singing professor
I think sopranos nowadays should not aim only for Olympia and such. I also can hit the notes. But my voice is heavier and darker. I will never sing Olympia, although it's a beautiful aria. But I'm thankful for my voice with its darkness and not that much agility. I also get mistaken for a mezzo, because of my ability to sing strong in both registers. Just practise, listen to your voice and don't push. If it's not your fach, don't push it. ;) I'm sure your voice is beautiful :)
I think it mostly has to do with what type of voice you have? I personally have a very light voice and even though the middle of my range is pretty strong my hight above c6 is very soft and delicate.
@@slothisasin8240 Sounds like a lyric soprano to me. I had a very freakish voice being able to sing contralto pieces but also being able to sing this in spring 2000 as a part of my senior recital at college.
1:05 / 1:54
3:40 / 4:30
2:53 she hits D6flat, right? but there is no such note on the screen...
Shes ornamenting for the second repetition of this material. Ornaments are not in the score because theyre up to the singer to decide.
Это вставные каденции. Каждая певица поёт то что хочет, усложняя песню
Countertenor here just saying
Link for sheet music????
Maybe IMSLP.org
Can someone please tell me what language in the song? I tried 4 languages in Google but no one works 100%. German, French, Italian, Spanish
It is french.
It’s French, don’t use google translate it sucks. Just search “la oiseau dans la charmille” translation
Thang Nguyen It’s French.
Please someone know the name of this amazing woman?
TostadaAntonieta34 I believe this is the Luciano Serra recording but I could be wrong
@@piperstormy494 She's a woman so it's Luciana, not Luciano. But yes, it's Luciana Serra - that's also what's written in the description.

03:02 rare sopranos who can overcome the technical limitations of the staccato can lead to high pitches till F instead A. A brilliant example: ua-cam.com/video/bqR6Ai5ObPw/v-deo.html
She didn't do the Ab6?
Not to complain but there are a couple spots where the voice doesn't match the notes such as 2:51
Like baroque (Da Capo Arias), many composers give the singers the freedom to embellish a repeated phrase. Happens with Mozart, Rossini, Bellini, and many others.
Thanks I'm just learning to read music since I joined a choir
Alzo at 0:27 She doesn't sing 'Tout'
since this is considered a bel canto aria, the singer is allowed within reason to embellish/improv the notes to add more flair. You should watch more videos o this aria or one i like which is how sang the best high Ab, which shows a lot of different approaches to this wonderful aria
This shits hard I can't play it
2:09
4:44
This must be sped up
It ain't. It really is possible to hit notes that quick and that clearly naturally.
Nope, there is a video of this on youtube live.
The score would have been better in the right key. G Major
3:00 and 5:09 Disappointing! She didn't sang High Ab!
Disappointing? Absolutely not
A common interpretation is to go up to the high high Ab6. But it's not in the music and therefore there's no expectation that she go up to the Ab6.
And not everybody's supposed to have the same interpretation. I'm glad hers is different. Not to mention the Eb6 she goes up to is STILL stunning and incredibly difficult to sing and took years of practice to sing as well as she did.
There's not one way to sing a baroque da capo aria and range isn't the only thing that makes someone talented. Her technique is still exquisite and not in the least disappointing.
Well. We have to consider that not everyone has a High Ab. At her time, the aria is not embellished as now. The only one who sung the high Ab at that time was Ingeborg Hallstein, Karola Agay and Natalie Dessay.
Rachele Gilmore is the one who took it to another level by adding the Ab at the second verse.
Lol almost nobody goes up to that Ab cuz it's absurd. An E is already pretty damn hard for many singers much less an A
meh
This is slow....
