Do you have a citation for this dialogue? Name of the traveler and his work, please? It is fascinating.

the traveler is fictional, and his story is just a framing device for this documentary.

Samogitia and Samogitians are not Tribes, but they are Dialects of Lithuanian Language and one of 4 Etnoregions (Similar Primortsy or Moskvichi in Russia or Bayern oder Berliner in Germany.) Samogitians are formed in 13 Century, Lithuania as a Staat has formed too Years 1009. 4.46 WTF Map? Samogitians are Lithuanians and they lived in Lithuania!
    Žemaitija - "Samogitia",
    Aukštaitija - "Ousteyten / Auxtote",
    Mažoji Lietuva - "Lithuania Minor"
    Suvalkija (Sūduva) - "Suderland",
    Dzūkija (Dainava) - "Doynowe",
    Lietuva - "Lithuania / Lithvania".

Is that from some Russian made history book? Žemaitija was always separate. Are you also claiming Old Prussia where Lithuanians too?

@@sargentwaag1483 The latin quote is a letter from Vytautas the Great to the HRE emperor Sigismund. It says: "But since the land of Samogitia is lower than the land of Lithuania, that is why it is called Žemaitija, because that is how the lower land is called in Lithuanian. And the people of Žemaitija call Lithuania Aukštaitija, i.e. seen from the Samogitian perspective, a higher ground. Likewise, the people of Samogitia have called themselves Lithuanians and never Samogitians since ancient times, and because of such identity (sic) we do not write about Samogitia in our writing, because everything is one, one land and the same people
Not sure what russian history books you're talking about and why that narrative would even be beneficial to russia

@@drixcel2741 Samigallians means northern border lands are you saying they are Lithuanian too? Look at some old maps. What your reading or finding is a rewrite of history. Even when the Zemaitija did join Lithuania it recieved special treatment. I stand by my statement that we are a tribe seperate from Lithuania and have been treated as such until the second world war.
