Bought them for 89$! Best you ever get for this money. Manufacturers like Eachine are making this hobby much more affordable! Thank you!
Allamut2909 Makerfire makes the ev800d also, just got mine for 74$. They have a larger battery than eachines version, but the antenna arent quite as good. There are also two versions, the older of which only has antenna diversity, while the other supposedly has true diversity. Im hoping i got the right one.... lol. Gotta wait for the slow boat for a few weeks before they get here.
Chinese boat will come in March because of chinese new year :)
Wow!!!! DVR footage is very good. Buying this for sure.
Your review really helped me, thank you!
Wondering how hard it would be to just remove the built in battery and use the external battery plug to feed it? Wear the batt velcroed to strap on the back of your head for balancing the rig or wherever you want to put it.
Thank Albert. This review made me buy some. The reception compared to fatshark was amazing. Also given you are short sighted like myself and you could focus with these was great to hear. I wish more people would mention that short sighted people should have not issues with focusing. Thanks again, can't wait for them to arrive :D
I think it depends on the person's eyesight. I don't want to make claims about how other people will perceive what they will see since I have no way of knowing that 😀
Got them now. Awesome compared to FS Teleports. Much more immersive. Much better reception. No issues seeing without my glasses, I'm -2.75. Just not as comfortable on my cheeks :( . Will need to think of a way to make them more comfortable.
Very tempted to buy one of these over the Hobbyking Quantum Cyclops diversity. Trouble is I wear reading glasses and there is not sliders for the 800D to adjust the fresnel lens.
is the built in DVR better or the same as the Eachine Pro DVR you added to the previous version?
Better antennas on the EV800D for sure. Those are the new 6-lobe K-loverleaves & StingPad antennas vs generic stuff on the VRD2. Better pads too.
EV800D is touted to run on RX5808 Pro diversity receiver. Not sure what kind of receiver the VRD2 has. Any idea?
Does it really feel nose heavy when wearing it due to the internal battery?
how do you change the volume with the eachine ev800d
What is the best video quality settings, especially for the sharpness?
what would be a good upgrade in terms of antennas for this goggle?
I have & use these as my daily goggles. Have been for approximately 2 years.
That being said, it is an absolute must as to the: why? Do they work that good? What do I fly? Have I thought about upgrading or changing?
* Before I start, I MUST be honest, I rock the Tobyrich TR1. I did a TON on research (meaning close to about 3 weeks to a month) on these. Reading they are the exact same... yes and no. Let's put it this way, they ARE except, you CANNOT run the TR1 on any voltage higher than 5 vcd. It has an on board voltage regulator.
--- Here is my all ---
I have been flying for years. Aggressively. My first fpv quadcopter (set) to get me into THIS part of the hobby was the Tiny Whoop kit. Came with a stock single antenna vtx. That was mind blowing (for that time) around the house. I outgrew my britches. Fast. Being a cheap American, my next quad of the sport was an Eachine Tyro79. Amazing. However.... the goggles. They only got me me 1 house to either side of me. I researched. Time and again, I come across headsets that were true goggles. Price was, for the most part, a decent pair was about 199. Remember, I said I was cheap. I wanted true goggles SO badly but, I was cheap. I came across this man's online review of ALOT of fpv headsets. I accidentally found the Tobyrich version. Smh. I dug deeper. I went as far as going into the FCC search for EXACTS.
I ordered these. Do they work. Obviously. You ALL can see that via UA-cam. They quality is by far better than I imagined. The range for reception, yea. I absolutely WILL NOT complain.i am still in love with my Tyro models. Yes. I've flown everything under the sun. I go with these because they arent perfect out of the box. You HAVE to tune them, make them yours.
Have I thought about upgrading or changing.... yes and no.
I've personally NO actual need to upgrade. I still rock my 3" quads. So for the area my little hellions rein, dont need to. But yes, I've thought about changing. Only because, let's be real, we ALL love the true goggle look, design, compactness. That is simply all.
Long story short. My clone was $44. Real deal is like $90. If you are fresh to the hobby, or cheap like me but very much expect decentness... you will NOT be disappointed.
Good Day Albert.. I know it's been awhile since you did this review. But do you recall if you can record from the AV input same as the other video sources?
Sorry, I don't know.
hi Albert great review thanks.
wondering what video transmitter you would recommend to go with this for range? how do you work out what tx will match when shopping, just check the channels?
How much range do you need? What kind of environment are you flying in? Just about any TX will work with the EV800D as long as the channels match up.
actually not sure yet, this is still a build in the procrastination stage, thinking I might get this www.banggood.com/Matek-5-8G-40CH-25200500mW-switchable-Video-Transmitter-VTX-HV-with-5V1A-BEC-Output-for-RC-FPV-Racing-Drone-p-1175514.html?cur_warehouse=CN
last time I built a drone there was less to chose from... I used immersion rc 600mw tx and uno receiver, could get 1km range on a clear day LOS but it was easily interfered by trees and bushes (had only mushroom antenna).
more importantly I need to find radio tx rx that can punch through further than the 5.8 without spending all of the moneys on x9d taranis and tbs crossfire systems lol
Did you use the stock antennas?
I would love a pair of these I haven't got any goggles yet
Have you tried charging them with a 3S LiPo? I'm trying to charge them with 2S (because they say it should work) but it doesn't
Thought I'd say that when I record with mine the red light stays on the entire time I record. Strange that your's shuts off??
how do you know which antenna goes on which connection? The box these come in show it set up opposite to how you have them-fairly new at all this and wanted to make sure I was setting it up correctly- TIA
It doesn't matter since it will auto switch to whichever antenna has the best signal. Do whatever you like.
A couple things about these, I see no way to internally format the sd card, and during playback, I see no way to play that in reverse, you can pause it, but not rewind it, which means lost quad recovery means you have to keep watching the entire clip top to bottom, that is a bummer. Picture quality is nice for the money!
hi there, i just got my ev800d, i noticed that your antennas are in different position with the antennas pictured in the box of the goggles, thus this mean it can be mounted either way? thanks
Yes. Either way is fine.
Thanks for the information
would you sell your original ev800s
Okay, I gotta question, where is the plastic center piece shown in the ads for these goggles? The piece that supports the head straps. Eachine, If you're going to advertise it, provide it!
I think that clear piece of plastic under the head straps is for display purposes only.
Is there audio ? And is the fpv footage bttr than the dvr?
Yes and the FPV is always better than the DVR.
10:02 song name?
Can you use a Lipo to power googles?
I think it comes with a plug with JST connector so whatever the top voltage limit would work... I think a 2S or 3S would be fine.
pretty impressed with the ev800d, what fpv camera were you using? one of the clearest dvr's I have seen around.
Used this one... only 25mW! amzn.to/2Dy2ugL
Side by side with the VRD2 Pro would have been more useful, because no one is really thinking about fatsharks vs these even though I get the point that you don't need to spend that kind of money, it would still be more interesting to help buyers decide who to give their 80$ to.
i'd say a side by side by side.. i found the comparison given very useful in that now i know the only reason i'd ever upgrade to a fatshark would be the "cool" factor
How can you see the voltage of the drone battery
Betaflight OSD
I'm new to fpv but can I use these with a tiny hawk 2?
Yes if your quad is analog.
Can we use this on FUS X111?
yes
Just ordered one of these. I'll probably remove the internal battery and make a mount to attach it to the back of the headstrap.
👍
Bought these goggles witha mobula 7
Am i gonna have a problem with my eyes? I noticed you can't adjust it. I have almost perfect vision.
Hard to say for sure since everyone's eyes and face shape is a little different. You'll only know for sure when you actually try them.
I got the generic version of these. The on-screen recording indicator stays on all the time when recording, and there's also an on-screen timer. The buttons are in a different order, too. I replaced the headstrap with a home-rolled leather equivalent, which makes wearing them much more comfortable.
That's a clone version with different electronics inside as well. There's actually three different clone versions of this very popular model and all of them have defects compared to the original.
@@AlbertKimTV Oh, I'm not plugging it. Just pointing out the difference. I've had mine for three years, and have found it to be an alright device. I got lucky with mine, it seems. . .
fat shark is over rated and price imo. others are catching up fast.
No competitors for Dominator HD series though, biggest screens in FS style goggles sadly still.
Thanks for stopping rambling, got headache.
