Superfluent has become one of those channels I look forward to seeing new videos from.
This is the kind of material us certified Beatles maniacs love. Nice detective work here, Supe (Hi Carl!). I guess this means take 38 may be the last surviving appearance of all four Beatles on tape. Giles ought to remix this take, using the Peter Jackson audio technology, and then he should remix the first Beatles recording with all four Beatles present, which is of course......
Great video. I love the meaning it's given to that one acoustic chord at 0:49 in Bathroom Window. Never really thought about it before; will never hear it the same way again
One of the best channels on UA-cam for a music lover. And damn funny ❤😂
Great video. Let’s get this guy over 1000 subs so he can buy a new sweater.
Interesting and entertaining. I love to hear any stories about the Beatles, so I liked and subscribed. This brings your total subscribers to 988. 12 more to get you to 1000. Good luck!!
Thanks for this. It's the first time I think anyone has ever had a crack at this, literally. Specifically in regard to that wonderfully odd-tempo "whip crack" on the second verse of SCITTBW. Great analysis. But just to be clear, are you suggesting they used a real whip crack sound there or is it just a dry hand clap with tons of reverb?
It actually sounds like some kind of stick percussion, a small snare / varispeeded snare. But it's referred to as the "whipcrack" percussion in track sheets
@@_Superfluent , interesting! Thanks for clearing that up.
According to Womack's book on Mal Evans, all four Beatles were together for a party in March 1970 at Friar Park for Patti's birthday. One wonders if there's more evidence than the single paragraph Womack gives this event. Nothing suggests any music was played.
Great stuff! Ah, the classic dilemma of whether to keep mixing the content or become a Beatles channel! My two cents? Do every second one.
More beatles videos please!
I thought “I want you ( she’s so heavy ) was the last track all 4 worked on on August 20th ?
More good stuff 🤙
Hello Simon. It's Sal
I was worried you weren't going to do anymore Beatles content. This was something I never knew about. May I please suggest that you make a video about the LET IT BE Glynn Johns mix. It is available in the box set of the same name. It was the first album mix attempted. There are some really funny it's on it. It also gave Phil Spector a blueprint to work with for his improved but less charismatic version of that album. So I can see why the label rejected the first version it is really interesting. Often overlooked and ripe for discussion.
Easter is right around the corner. The best part for me is I'm having my wife go on an Easter egg hunt. If he finds them, she'll get an Easter sausage for free!
I Knew you liked it, lol. I have been listening daily to the Glyn Johns version off Let it Be Super Deluxe since you brought it up on Lars channel. It makes me really happy and sad , I find myself streaming tears many times.
Hi Sue God Lars has a cool channel as well. Have you seen pop goes the 60s or parlorgram? Those are both great channels on the Beatles yet Simon and Lars are very personable and definitely funny. Thanks for your reply.
I did find the Glyn Johns ones a touch disappointing, it was raw but in a shoddy rather than exciting way, for me. Seems like they really wrung the sponge and got the best takes on the official release
@@_Superfluent Yes, the one thing Phil Spector did right on "Let It Be" was find the best takes of the material and do a much better mixing job than Johns (surprising, given how good Johns usually is).
I like your approach to the video
Great job!
Fantastic! I subscribed
Really really nice ... thanks 👍
Ive seen on tv that it was common practice in those days to erase and re use all recording tape. Story is that monty python's flying circus was only saved because it was missed from being erased and re used. One can only imagine the great British television and music lost forever to history this way in the name of economy measures...
All of The Beatles' initial TV appearances, from October1962 to early August 1963, are missing for that very reason. So we'll never get to see them perform "Some Other Guy" live on "People And Places", nor their career-changing performance of "Please Please Me" on "Thank Your Lucky Stars". (sigh)
Because was recorded on August 1st through the 5th of 69- are you eliminating it because Ringo didn’t play drums on it ? On the box set he’s tapping along so I suppose it could be a technicality?
all is explained in the full vid! 😉
Witty bloke. Very enjoyable.
fantastic
When did John demo Cold Turkey to the others. Did he? I keep hearing he did but no one has ever suggested a date.
The little plush toy on your left wants to watch.
If Carl wants to get involved he can apologise first
Great and funny!
Real love is the last time hahaha
Enjoyed your videos, thank you for sharing your research. However, I think there may be a chance you and Trae Crowder are one and the same. He's political you're Beatliticle (yes, i did...), sense of humor, Looks, delivery are quite similar...could it be??
that would be telling
Actually it was the "the end" session from August 1969 🤓
The End was tracked 2 days earlier - 23rd July. All subsequent sessions on the song were overdubbing / mixing / editing, and involved 3 Beatles or fewer
Before I watch…I want you she’s so heavy?
[sad slide whistle]
Mmmmm lines of caviar 🤤
Lying in a ditch bleeding and safe from harm...😂😂😂
