What a monster driving from Dani! He made the fastest time during the penultimate lap! They were both to the limit for the entire race! What a race.

Last lap pressure is different than other laps.this race tells Even champs can break under pressure . Dani handled it wisely. I wish casey would hv stayed for 2-3 years more. Incredible talent.
He didn't (Casey) necessarily "break under pressure", he wasn't charging the corner, he was doing anything wrong besides trail braking for 0.001 seconds longer than he should have. It happens in ever racing event by someone. Sometimes that front end goes and you swear you didn't do anything different. You could as much blamed it on the fork oil, suspension, tire pressure, tire choice.....

Knowing about how Casey Stoner has opened up about what was going on inside him in these moments before the race, it's really beautiful to see his wife at his side on the grid, looking carefuly at his posture, comforting him, understanding and immensely proud of him and his abilities.
How Dani never won a wc on that honda while Nicky, Casey and Marc did i will never get. This race is a perfect example of how bloody good he was
Pedrosa was one of a number of racers who could be called "the best rider never to win a championship." Personally, I think Randy Mamola deserves that title more than any other, but that's just one mans opinion.
Because Pedrosa was unbeatable if he and his team got the setup done during the weekend.
But if he struggled with it, he was third or fourth at best. An inconsistency that robbed Dani every chance against Lorenzo, Marquez or Rossi who won 5-6 or more in a row during their prime years. Even Stoner had an amazing run 2011! Always felt sorry for him, Pedrosa is arguably the most talented rider never won a chip! 🤷♂️
Ugh I can't believe this was 8 years ago!! Stoner and the Honda were a beautiful match. Pedrosa fighting for the victory, Spies starting on the first row, Rossi on the Ducati (and not loving it), Dovi on the Tech 3 Yamaha after losing his seat to Casey in the Factory Honda squad, Cal Crutchlow doing what he has always done on whatever bike you give him... hahaha, good times! Love this track. Watching the greats ride around there is magic.

I would of loved to see Stoner on the works Yamaha. I think Stoner is one of the few who could get 3 championships on 3 different bikes.
I have a feeling Marquez or Stoner would have gone to Yamaha in 2013 if Stoner didn't retired. No one is replacing Pedrosa at Honda in 2013 after he dominated the latter half of the championship in 2012 with 7 wins. Most points in a single season in history for a rider not to win the World Championship. 332.

You are thinking about overall careers. Pedrosa dominated the 2012 championship in the latter half of the season and got 7 wins. His 332 points is the most by any rider in a season not to win the championship.
