There is a basic main law aka constitution and elected legislative body. It looks like we use slightly different terms though as representative democracy is description of both US and e.g. German system. Democracy being the opposite of dictatorship allows people to decide (directly or by elected representatives) the future of the country. If it's only lost in translation pls let me know but "democratic tyranny" is an oxymoron 🤷♂️
@@pavelmacek282 So our original constitutional republic was a hybrid mix that balanced democratic institutions against anti-democratic institutions to prevent the excesses that result when there is too much democracy or too little democracy. Originally, the House was democratically elected (still is), Senate was appointed by state legislatures (amended in Construction to elect by people, and that amendment turned the Senate into the disaster that it is today), President is indirectly selected by the Electoral College (still is), federal judges are appointed by President and confirmed by Senate (still are), and the state and local governments have always been laboratories of democracy that have different ways in which the officials of different branches of state and local government are chosen. The governments of all other nations (including in Europe) have very different ways of selecting their officials in their branches of government. No nation shares our very idiosyncratic blend of governance.

Needs a few other adjustments as well. Term limits is a start but there’s a lot of other issues that need to be addressed
My brother & others would always say America is very powerful but I contradicted them 15yrs ago saying our nation will turn against each other
WOW! That just blew me away. What visionary and enlightened men the American forfathers were. This Australian is in awe.
Constitution also say the Native First peoples are savages - that is exceptional calling some other people savages and taking their land as they did not have the same perspectives as the people who landed here. We did think we were exceptional to and commit genocide by stealing their children
Somehow we weren't able to stop corporations from getting TOO MUCH POWER!!
If you look at American education it's really easy to just call us talking monkeys.... Our schools and universities don't teach us how to solve problems. Our system only builds memory.
Any fool can know. The point is to understand. Einstein.
@@jyrkiaaltonen9298 I think you missed the point.
@@kookookatchoo8208 Yes,monkeys can be taught parrot fashion like humans, the point being able to work it out yourself and so understand the subject. I thought that's exactly what you referred to in : Our system only builds memory. I think you missed Einsteins point. Prime example, I can recite E=MC2 which is universally accepted as true, but can't explain why. Please inform me where I missed the point, as you conclude with 'Our system only builds memory.'
@@jyrkiaaltonen9298 you just provided the proof. You can reite E=mc², but you have no clue as to the meaning. Maybe I missed your point?
@@kookookatchoo8208 Gold 🥇 medal in the art of obfuscation awarded to cuckoo 👍 . Einstein proved right again. Your original comment was correct which I buttressed. Me not being able to do the maths required to explain E=MC2 I admit as it is so for even the bulk of scientists. Unable to admit you have your shoelaces tied together, resort to the old method of confusing the issue. If this leaves you more confused, ask mum,dad or teacher. Wish you all the best in your endeavours and it's actually good for one's character building to admit mistakes. PS no further correspondence responded to.❤️❤️
Freedom allows its citizens to be exceptional. This naturally leads to the national prosperity.
He doesn’t even understand the meaning of “American Exceptionalism.” It doesn’t mean “We are number one.” It means America is exceptional as in we offer something unlike other nations-the idea of government limited in the scope of its powers and accountable to the people it governs. We were exceptional… once.
That is exactly what hes saying: That we created an exceptional government and economic system that lets normal people exceed.
@@browncoaster and then skipped over the next 149 years that it took to be a super power
@@browncoaster do you mean “succeed”?
A virologist from China escaped to the USA and said the Chinese have a dream to be the world's superpower by 2049.
America is not and never was exceptional, there is nothing america offers that other countries dont, you fail across most categories where others may mostly succeed... the only areas that america is better than others is... hypocrisy... arrogance... stupidity
Many of founding fathers of USA, were truly unique, individualistic Liberty minded intellectuals.
I firmly believe that the Founding Father's were lead by the spirit of God, when they wrote the Constitution.
They wouldn't have owned human beings if they were actual Christians.
so your gos is a xenophobe misogynist ? i hope not....
Really Powerful
And
Really CounterFactual
The beautiful thing about this country is that we make mistakes we find a way to fix them and not do the mistake again and then move on once we have learned our lesson ,this beautiful country with its God Given rights is not done by a long shot ,we are just in a time of learning and growing which takes a lot of effort but I have no doubt we will bounce back and The Ideas that were birthed through this American experiment will spread across the World ,anyone can be An American through the idea of Freedom in their Hearts God bless America and God Bless the World
Famous last words.....
"God Given rights". Which rights exactly were given by God?
Sir you have wisdom. God bless America.
The founders knew we would come to this and prepared a constitutional republic to resist democratic tyranny.
I'm sorry but this is a genuine question as for non-US citizen even after checking the definition "constitutional republic" it seems exactly the same system like in most EU countries (with exception of constitutional monarchies).
Constitution also say the Native First peoples are savages - that is exceptional calling some other people savages and taking their land as they did not have the same perspectives as the people who landed here. We did think we were exceptional to and commit genocide by stealing their children
@Scooby Sativa Biden blew up Nordsteam. Take up the quarrelling with the democrats
Lol! No. They didn't foresee the Civil War or that there would one day be 50 states. They didn't even want there to be a standing federal army.
Isaac Asimov talked about the prominence of anti-intellectualism in America society, "nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." A lot of people here like blaming their leaders but much of the time their own arrogance and refusal to accept effective solutions from others makes things worse. Some humility might help...
I wish Canadian's were so wise.
Not Trudeau hes on Chinese payroll and ruining Canada just like Biden.
Canada is an open air prison where thr inmates vote for the warden. Freedom scares Canadians
I give to the American founders, exceptionally excellent humans who were un-ironically aware of just what sort of precipice they stood upon.
To think their offsprings have lost the plot so dearly is humbling to consider.
Humility is exceptional especially if it is organic and not imposed via humiliation. Reminds me of the pride of Cornwallis scene in The Patriot.
We need to dismantle Cia and fbi and build something better that has checks and balances of their own
You need to dismantle your capitalist "at all costs" system. Corporations just want to make money.
Department of education, department of homeland security, the EPA, department of defense they all need to be completely overhauled if we have any chance of survival.
@@MR1977. Jesus Christ you people have completely lost it
@@darrellvice2010 what do you mean “you people”?
And that’s when American exceptionalism was seeded and has grown to what we have in the 20th and 21st century.
That’s right and a good point. The democratization and abstraction of power is what keeps us great. That’s why people who don’t respect the abstraction of power shouldn’t be allowed to get it.
That’s exactly what makes us great! We were able to adapt to our failings and grow from . Now we’ve become so narcissistic and addicted to nonsense that we are losing our introspection, our empathy, and our civics.
I remember when doug wilson debated christopher hitchens in the documentary "collision". Great film
Being an exceptional country, means everybody works together. What we need is exceptional government that doesn't waste not one penny.
I love the realization.
Beautifully put.
Constitution also say the Native First peoples are savages - that is exceptional calling some other people savages and taking their land as they did not have the same perspectives as the people who landed here. We did think we were exceptional to and commit genocide by stealing their children
Liberty protected by our constitution makes us exceptional
Very well said.
Humility is a precondition to growth.
MIND BLOWN!
We are exceptional by definition 🇺🇸
It's our mythos, our narrative and why wouldn't we stick with it. 😊
WISDOM! 👏👏👏
that's why I love America
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees. George Washington 🇺🇲🇺🇲
I understood "history of vampires" from that point on nothing made sense... But it did once I heard again while reading the subs...
they should have created an amendment in the constitution that states if any law maker or law enforcer passes or enforce any law or mandate that contradicts the constitution it is treason and the punishment is death or 25 years in prison.
Our founders did not intend for anyone to make a career in government. You serve your 2, 4 or 6 years and then go home. We need to cut all pensions and no one serves over 6 years and cut all lobbyists out and make it illegal.
Louder!!!
I genuinely think that combination of wisdom and intelligence doesn’t even exist anymore these days. think of the founders with rose tinted glasses but it should’ve seen my green knew what they were doing and I wish we had someone like that around today.
Fine point sir. The temptation of power, money and land isn’t a geographic or nationality struggle, it’s a human being struggle and it will always be there, as history has shown us.
Yes, it's humble and visionary, and that is exceptional in leadership.
They did not know about the bureaucracies. 😡. Gotta bust them.
Doug Wilson 🇺🇸 YEAH
😂 😂 😂 I had to listen twice....." If you look at the history of VAMPIRES" ..... 🧛🏾♀️ WHHHHAAAT?!?!!
Another reason why Americans should fight against the Feds's implementation of CBDC.
No system of government has ever been able to stand firm against greed and corruption. Mankind is its own worst enemy. Always has been, always will be.
"It is said that no one truly knows a nation until one has been inside it's jails. A nation should not be judged on how it treats it's highest citizens, but it's lowest ones." Mandela
Nice. The exceptional thing is to realize you aren't exceptional. That is something we've forgotten.
Thats pretty deep thinking. Thank god they did think about that. Some things not so much. But at least they got that right.
This is why I am a strong Constitutionist. In response to those that say it does not apply to todays values my response is this. Use the procedures within in it to change it, don't just run roughshod over it because you don't like it
Our founders were exceptional people. The people who trash them with accusations of racism and other character flaws are the very people our founders warned us about.
TRUTH, and due to an irrational interpretation of the Constitution adopted in 1936, the fed gov has been growing far beyond it's proper boundaries ever since then.
So true. Look at Putin, North Korea, China. Putting a leader on a pedestal is a big mistake. No one is better than anyone else. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Humility is wisdom.
The Founders were very wise Englishmen.
@truckerfromreno: It's just that the English did not think of us as equals. An example was Washington being unable to get a traditional commission to serve with General Braddock, yet finding himself organizing an escape of Braddock's men upon the former's death following a number of poor decisions.
Having power is being in control...too enticing for so many of us.
Did he just open with: " If you look at the history of vampires " 😮😅
Thought he was talking about vampires until the very end. And then I realized he said "empire"
I always questioned why it is that politicians always talk of American exceptionalism. Turns out they are just blowing up the egos of the voters in trade for votes.
He nailed it though John.
No matter the time or culture, the greedy, malignant and unethical always seek power.
Americans used to be exceptional. Unmatched in perspicacity and value.
The problem we seem to be having is that now many of the government members consider themselves to be exceptional.
Great Thinking...
