I grew up in the Midwest (German/French/English/ Irish background. Thanksgiving was turkey, dressing (the bread kind), giblets, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry something, green salad, pea salad, jello/cottage cheese salad, other veggies and homemade dinner rolls. Dessert was always pie, pumpkin, apple, cherry, and mince. Usually a veggie tray with onion dip.
Me too Shari, except instead of jello salad and pea salad, we had carrot, apple, and raisin salad. Sounds like similar ancestry. German, English, French, Irish.
You can use the "obvious journaling cards", like the one you have with a butterfly at the top, inside the card to write your note. I've done that quite a few times and it worked out fine. "The root of joy is family" on the front, and inside you can say something like, "I'm so glad you are part of mine" or something else ridiculous like that 🤣.
Thanks so much for this video!!! I have so many PL cards that I need to use 😊 great idea to use up embellishments as well. It was very creative to move the pieces around to make a different look on your cards. Thank you!
Great ideas, Jess! I am from German heritage so Thanksgiving was always turkey, bread stuffing, sweet potatoes (no marshmallows!!), mashed potatoes with gravy, whole cranberries with oranges, green bean casserole, and rolls. Dessert is always pumpkin pie but used to include mince meat pie. Since living in New Mexico for the past 24 years, the stuffing now includes green chile and there is always red chile to add on top of the mashed potatoes and turkey. 😂
Hi Jess. Thanks for another great video. As I live in South Africa we don't celebrate Thanksgiving however I think it's a great idea as we should always be be thankful/grateful for what we have. I also come from an Italian background and our celebratory meals always included pasta, roasted lamb, roasted potatoes, salad and vegetables with gravy. Still to this day, I enjoy some pasta with a roast and braai(BBQ). 🤗💚
Cool! I bought project life cards at Tuesday morning and most of them I don’t know what to use them for. Now I can use up some of them. I guess it was a bad purchase on my part. I have Taylored expressions mini strips and backers and you gave me a great idea !
I have some cases from Taylored Expressions that work well for premade sentiments, but are a bit pricey. But I think you could find a thin case and make your own dividers as well. www.tayloredexpressions.com/simple-storage-for-simple-strips/

That sounds delicious! And the kick of green chili sounds like a great way to mix it up.

Thanksgiving is not just an American holiday, it is also Canadian!
Yes, so sorry! When I listened to the playback I was like 'you forgot Canada' but couldn't really fix the audio at that point.
What are you using to store your pre-made sentiment strips in? I have a ton of them and I'm desperately trying to find a good storage solution.
