Great sketch for those difficult papers that come in these packs. I have a 12x12 Iris case full of these. Now I have some ideas! TFS these awesome sketches!! 😊❤
Really cute cards! I’m a newbie, and I really appreciated you showing your thought process. Nice to know we don’t always have to think in terms of saving scraps. It’s great to save them, for sure, but I enjoyed seeing how you used paper without that being your priority.
Such a simple sketch and so very practical! I'm a long time subscriber and love your patterns in general, but seeing ideas for these papers that seem to be made only for scrapbooking is super helpful. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this video! It's crazy how stuck I get with challenging papers, and then they end up sitting around forever, not being used. I needed this nudge to get my creativity flowing 🙂
I love it, I started making some Christmas cards out of my 12 by 12 paper. This is a better way of doing it. Thank you for the tips. Very helpful....I love your videos.
Thank you for all the suggestions, Jess, & especially for challenging yourself to use a difficult-to-use patterned paper. For those of us who are super-cheap, I have a suggestion for mats. For a design such as this paper busting template where you could get away without matting each piece, I would just have a heavyweight white card base & adhere a thinner (and cheaper) colored cardstock panel to the front. I use Recollections 110 lb. (300 g/sm) white cardstock for my card bases, which I usually get on sale. It's a good heavy weight and I find perfect for card bases. By using colored cardstock panels (I can get 4 A2 size panels out of 1 sheet of letter-size cardstock), I don't have to keep heavyweight colored cardstock - which is usually pricier & often not as readily available locally - on hand for card bases. Yes, it's an extra layer, but I'm fine with that. I'd have to add a panel inside if I had a dark card base anyway, so I (or someone I donate to) could write a personal message. And, if I use a small-ish portion of a full piece of colored cardstock, I can usually cut the remainder up into at least 2 card fronts, which I just keep filed in a bin for future cards. Hence, less bulk in my separate scrap storage. I am sure I'm not the only one who does this, but it doesn't seem to get mentioned or demonstrated very often, so I always try to suggest it. Anyway, thank you for sharing these cards/tips. You are such a great teacher, Jess. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)
great cards, but I was really interested in that paper trimmer. I like making A6 size cards and this looks like it would work great for those card bases. tfs
Hi Jess! I love all your suggestions and ideas for using up 12x12 paper. Thanks! You mentioned you had a list of crafty thrift stores you had but I don’t them listed in your notes. I did not know there was such a thing and would be very interested in this list for future donations.
