Your timing couldn't be more perfect. Just the other day I was asked to look into replacing one. Always helpful to see a professional take, even on small projects. And this videos is 1000x better than any manufacturer’s instruction video I've ever seen.
I used to love velux 15 years ago when I was in the soft furnishing trade. Used to charge 15.95 fitting per blind. I could fit a velux faster than unpacking and bagging the rubish. About 3 mins each.
Nicely demonstrated Robin. I've done a few myself a great product. I like the clean lines around the skirting and floor, also nice margins around the velux, all ads up to super job.👌🇮🇪👍
Nice promo vid for Velux Robin, I hope they are looking after you. They are almost identical to my caravan blinds (did I just admit to having a caravan?😂)
Hot dog! They are available in the US. Unfortunately (I think) you left out the installation of a square or rectangular frame and the gray tabs “at the top”. I’m hoping the manufacturer has a fitting that allows a pole to be used when the skylight is in a ceiling. [They do.] Thanks for the recommendation.
Useful/simple video, thanks! Can you provide the velux name for that blind? When I'm searching I can only locate the pleated option but prefer the cleaner look of non-pleats like you have. Link or name appreciated, thanks!
Im on my phone, but the outer translucent blind looked pleated, plecey?. The blackout will be flat. The limitation it due to the track. Im talking 10-15 year old info mind. Contact them direct. I'm not paid to say so but they have thier shit together.
we've got black out blinds only, it really is like turning off the lights, even in the middle of the day brilliant edited to say that, like me, you thought about the potential damage to the blind before the fact the strings could strangle you 🤣
Have some solar blinds coming soon (well 70 day lead time). Only problem is they are out of reach hence going for the solar ones! So will be interesting to fit. Let me know if you or velux want to do another video, I won't even charge a filming location fee.
Velux accounts department should be sending you cheque for that video promotion of there product, well done Robin.👍👍

Thank you!! That's kind!!
Clear, simple and precise. Fantastic demonstration
Super Easy Job ... with you explaining it mate. Always inspired by your excellence and eye for detail and humor and projects. Thanks Robin!
I’ve not long fitted my black out roller blinds to my Dakea roof windows. They were just as simple, great bits of kit 👌🏼
Top job, very confident demonstration of how to..love these little snippets…

Beautifully demonstrated as ever.
Thank you Tony
Thank you so much, I did it! Your explanation was so good, I feel I can give DIY a go from now on.
You are so welcome!
Very timely! Just about to buy some... Even though I know how easy they are I still wanted to listen to RC for 9mins 🤣
Your decorators are clean look at that floor!
Thank you Albert, Matt my decorator is brilliant!!

Well there you go, easy as. 👍👍
Haha robin... It's like a QVC advert 🤣
Just need the four easy payments and a full manicure for Robin’s chippy’s mits for the close-up demonstrations and “job’s a good-un” 😉
We've got a skylight (piece of perspex I think!), anything I can get like this to just attach around the wooden frame?
Thanks
Thank you Adam!!!
Good afternoon mate how are you doing
Boss job Robin lad 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Interior design? What next haberdashery?
Excelente video 👍 👊💯
& worth saying you need the code on the window which will tell velux what blinds will fit your window
Great Advice Sarah! Cheers
Trying to a hold of their solar motors and blinds is a nightmare though. Months and months waiting.
Nooice!

One thing that wasn't quite clear - you still need to fit the window! after that it's a piece of cake.
Check back in my channel videos as I have done a couple of videos!! Cheers Robin
....alternatively, support a local handyman.....
