Medical debt is the number 1 cause of homelessness in the US. If they come for your house because of the medical debt you owe, immediately start filing for bankruptcy. Put all that medical debt in the filing.

OMG … I say this because in Australia this situation doesn’t exist If you need heart surgery the government pays for it I’m so sorry for our fellow Americans being denied the right to healthcare but instead have rights to carry guns It’s insanity
When the government pays for it, that means you do! You pay taxes, and the govt re-distributes that money the way they want to. In your case, you are paying for health care for everyone.
Let me be sure I understand this. As a country, we can forgive medical debt and bail out banks and car manufacturers to the tune of billions of dollars, but cancelling crippling student debt is off the table? Hmmm….
Other countries have free healthcare for citizen don't see why America doesn't supposed to be the richest country in the 🌎 taxpayers on taxpayers that pay their taxes every single year that can be funded from our taxes could it be they don't want all the insurance companies in America don't want to put them out of business because those who are on Capitol Hill are getting paid by insurance companies to keep them in business .
This story speaks to the problem we have in America insurance is something too many Americans do not have. If you don’t have healthcare insurance, you can be settled with debt that you would never be able to pay back no matter how many years you worked. We literally need a system where nobody who is a US citizen can go without health insurance. That’s the type of system we need because this man who worked all those years until he retired, he didn’t have one thing he needed. He didn’t have health insurance. He was literally waiting. That shouldn’t be a possibility. You can argue. We should have a law that he must purchase health insurance. You can argue that we should give him some type of health insurance and text him for it whatever he should’ve had health insurance.
He chose not to buy insurance and then he had a heart attack and surgery. Now over $90,000 in bills have been wiped away. Nice for him but not for everyone who pays every month for insurance. Guess it’s better not to buy insurance.
That’s the catch most people understand where he was coming from actually 64 approaching 65 going to be eligible for Medicare in just a few months I can wait and go see a doctor then. For most people nothing’s going to happen in those six months you’ll be OK but if you’re one of the few and something happens, you fall and break a hip you suddenly need cancer treatment You could end up in Medical freefall. We need a system where by someway people can’t not have health insurance. Some are going to argue that we shouldn’t tell people you have to have health insurance. Well if we don’t this happens and someone has to eat that cost. That hundred thousand dollars That was forgiven for his debt somebody’s gotta pay that bill. In case you are wondering that will be given back to the insurance company as a tax write off and guess who pays the bill you do. That’s why we want everyone to have health insurance. That way we don’t have to have debt being forgiven, and instead the insurance company can cover the surgery.
Putting a lien on someone’s home because they can’t afford to pay a medical from treatment they needed to stay alive is such a low life move
kind of like giving illegals free care when millions had their plans taken away by obamacare
I wonder why the sudden change of heart 🤔
