I am so happy that a few great youtube channels have got p38 projects because these videos are gems for anyone with p38s that will eventually have to fix stuff (like the heater core and how to easily get to it, there is tons of info out there and there are some pictures but nothing better than video). Thank you!
As always Adam . Always a solution, never a problem ! And l've always said vehicles are designed to be built not dismantled !! Very frustrating ! Thankyou .
More good stuff from you Adam. Always great when things get sorted without having to spend a fortune on them. Nice. The scenery is wonderful around your house. Not sure I could stand those temperatures any more now having lived in Mauritius for the last seven years. Our "winter" as they call it, drops to the low twenties, maybe upper teens in the mountains. Tough eh?
Hi Adam,,,,,,,, ohhhhhh, I thought you should have driven in that garage with flat tires, wow, that was close. You have a great helper, she should get overtime !!!! Impressive video, you are a real asset to all those who need help with their British vehicles
Great work Adam, those aloys look much better. P38s are great in snow and ice as well. You do have 4 wheel ABS you just won't have the 4 channel traction control that later and 4.6 cars had.
A really great vid. thanks for the full run through. Just picked up a P38 for a new 2024 Project here in Australia. can I please also what OBD2 reader did you have plugged in when you were monitoring your tempts ?
Great video! Anyone have the download link for the electrical schematics ? Mine is a 1995 SE 4.0 p38a American version. Not sure if the electrical (wiring harness) is different.
And check the 12V power from the alternator that goes down into the loom near the starter motor. Later models had it routed directly to the battery. Mine started failing and I converted it.
I have a 73 XJ6 in excellent condition but the engine seems a bit tired. Rough idle and dies out at speeds over 40. Starts and runs every time. I'm concerned of the long term costs to maintain. Should I press forward? Also, are exhaust leaks a problem that could cause this issue?

I’m glad you’re enjoying the P38 content!
A classic, multi-purpose car and you are a hero
I’m about to buy one. Cross my fingers. Love your video
Great work again Adam!
Thank you!
Good catch Adam when you get the chance clean and check the rear lamp contacts and the wiring plugs they go south for the fun of it.
Perfect car for that environment... all set for some serious use.
I like the smaller wheels and chunky tyres for a country utility car !
Good logical diagnosis and repair. Well done Adam

Well said!
Excellent work Adam, on its way to being one of the best sorted P38s.

Great job. P38 looks so nice. Do you think you’ll tackle the headliner at some point?
If anyone wants to try replacing it, this guide is good - drive.google.com/file/d/1O_kM_gGN9xBjUjQYreL4kVcMHP7r0Q0B/view?usp=sharing
Yes once it’s warmer. It’s a nice job to do when it’s warm outside
Great video😊 I love the much maligned P38. All the best, and keep up the good work. Love your videos.

It’s a Nanocom. Best one to get for the P38
Great vids! So which do you prefer - the P38 or the L322?
As mentioned P38 rave is the cd based manual to get.
You used to be able to download the workshop manual. It's called p38 Rave.
still available out there, not hard to find

I was waiting for you to drop it down. Put it back on air.

and the bonnet will lift almost vertical, move the tabs on the hinges if it clears your beams above.

Next time let some air out of the tyres. It will give you a little more peace of mind.
I wanted to know if it would fit without doing that
p38's they look pretty damn good but they are a piece of work.
