I did all the rear suspension ipd upgrades. Swaybars, koni shocks, overload springs, kaplhenke adjustable track bar, braided brake lines, new volvo trailing arms, new volvo torque rod bushings, front adjustable kaplhenke tie rods. 1992 240 white wagon. 700,000 kms on the original engine and still going strong.
Better than new. I would imagine. Its actually a more comfortable ride than my r series 2019 jetta. Plus, the wagon looks new inside and out. Just need the glass headlamps. The yellowed plastic looks hokey
I'm just blissing out hearing that you've got tunes going in the garage while you work, and i'm getting (mysteriously) to hear it on UA-cam. Nice black magic, y'all. .
It always amazes me how long a 240 can be a useful car even in an utter state of disrepair. I'm going to do the same to my volvo but I'm just going with poly bushings b6s and sport springs. I wonder what difference it will make to upgrade swaybars controller arms and panhard rod? Just going to throw bushings and hardware on.
I thought that I had gotten plenty of grease on my poly bushings when I did my 240. But apparently, I still didn't get enough because, as you mentioned, mine squeak like CRAZY. I guess I need to go up in there and regrease everything. That being said though, the car handles like a slot car. I drove the Tail of the Dragon in the rain....at night. LOL No probs. Car stuck to the road like glue. All my stuff came from IPD too. Those guys are great!
@@C0olDo0d I'm in BC, and it does get expensive. Also , they will get you on duty as well. Best to do a little at a time. But its definitely worth it, if you plan to keep the car for the long haul

@@AZACKAL Sorry to crush your dreams They are actually modified, they are modified to comply with the "a class tractor" vehicle classification and limitide to 30km/h. Today these Tractors are mostly diven by teenagers who aren't old enough to drive a "real car". Do you want to know more?
My dad had a 93 240 with full Bilstein and IPD suspension upgrades. It was small, not particularly comfortable, and fairly slow. But it handled great, could hit 130mph, and ran over 500K miles before rusting away in the snow belt. I find the interiors of these to be basically dogshit, especially with all the cracking plastic. But damn are they simple cars to work on, drive, and maintain. Just need a lot of torx bits, and fluid film in the rustbelt. Also: Use a respirator or mask when using a wire wheel brush, and don't wear fucking flip flops in a garage. Or do, but expect injury.
It's been six months..how is this project coming along??
I would have loved to see the finished product of this car

Ever going to show how the final completed Volvo 240 project came out?
I wish they'd show an autocross style test drive. Ideally before and after all the IPD parts.
Any updates on the volvo guys?

Coming along great, hope to see you and the v70r at carlise import national
Hoping we can go too! All dependent on timing.
I am interested in those dust Sheila's that were removed here.

How much for everything
Still waiting on this !
Love watched the suspension upgrades, this project is going to be so cool! I cannot wait to see the result!
You and me both!
What the heck. So do you not have any more videos on the 240?
Not right now. Car will be done on May 1st and we're doing to drop all the videos in succession at once. Stay tuned!
@@ShiftingLanes its May 3rd! Volvo 240 car vids pleaseeeee!
Guess he meant May 1st 2030.
Two years since he's even given an update, being left hanging for years on these Volvo videos has been a total bummer.
Any updates on this project?
Still in progress!
I really want this done to my Volvo, but the shipping of IPD parts
to Canada is so expensive :/
Give them a call! They may be able to work with you on pricing to offset the cost.
Maybe I will, thank you!

Meyle is certainly NOT the best you can get. Lemfoerder (OEM) and Moog are readily available and not overpriced if you shop around.
Well done, considering you seem to have a rehearsal room with a psychedelic pop band as a neighbor...
Lol! Music provided by Portland based psychedelic rock band The Real, thats me (mechanic/narrator) on bass.
what happend with this project, did it die off?
