Who says it does? The problem is not that emotions are part of the discussion, it is which emotions are given weight. Fear (of invasion) is used in Switzerland to justify the range, whereas in the US fear (of something not understood) would be used to prohibit a range.

Got to love physics and ballistics. Many people don't know how loud bullets are flying overhead. Because most people never operated the targets in the butts. @@MrChristoffer5700 No. It's because we're cheap bastards. The Marine Corps did recently put out a request for electronic scoring systems, so it might be around sometime. Hopefully before the heat death of the universe, but that might be overly optimistic.
Is it really shooting a long rifle for a guy under 60 is uncommon in Switzerland? I mean here in US there are a lot of young people love surplus guns and shoot them regularly, including me.
Bloke on the Range Why is that? I got both k31 and k11 long and I enjoy shooting them more then my AR (too bad we can't get sig here in us). Is it because Young people in Switzerland just don't think k31 and k1911 is cool enough?
Bloke on the Range Thank you for the explanation! That make sense a lot! I not very familiar of the naming of these rifle, and because it is a longer version so I just call it k1911 long. Thanks for the correction, I guess it is the same thing that you don't call GEW 98 a k98 lol. BTW, You video is awesome and keep up the good work !
Bloke on the Range i've been to this range couple years ago. I do like their ranges though finding ĺonger ones than 300m is really challenging and they limit you the rifles you can shoot, seemed to me like you could only go with their standard army issue rifle. A friend of mine with an accuracy international always got alot of people staring at him and was not allowed to shoot it on every rifle range. Try Yverdon le bain for a great outdoor rifle range with steel targets too and some large caliber shooting
What ranges are you shooting at? My range that I helped build and have been shooting at for 25+years is clean! I used to shoot competition and 95% of the ranges I've been to are clean!
@OakedReallyStupid You obviously are not a avid shooter. I am a member at two ranges that only accept a limited number of members. They have pistol to 1000 yrd ranges and are way nicer. It took 4 years to become a member of one of the ranges. The run of the mill charge you out the ass for daily use is obviously what you have been exposed to and you would not catch me on one of those ranges. To many ignorant people who do not know shit like yourself are on them.
Stop complaining about how stupid or dangerous this range is, because it isn't. We here in Switzerland also have safety rules and the range wouldn't have the permission to exist if not everything was fine and safe for the cars down below. Best Regards HptfwO
I could think of a few scenarios. What if a bullet hits a bird and ricochets into traffic? Unlikely, but even if it's remotely possible why risk it? Why not just move it over, it looks like they have room. I get that Switzerland has very high standards and all, but it just seems needlessly risky, even if that risk is negligible. It just takes one freak accident.
Holy shit where do you live, where birds can ricochet a round much less at ricochet one at a near 90 degree angle? A more realistic tho still improbable event would be to hit a bird and it then falls into traffic and causes an accident, but that's like saying nope birds fly over roads and they could have any number of health issues, fall from the sky and cause a car crash, we will no longer build roads in locations where birds fly overhead.
I think more cars have been hit by rocks tossed from overpasses than by stray bullets. But overpasses are not banned. You don't design a society around freak accidents. You don't build highways airplane-crash safe, or your canals drown-free. Sure you design away _likely_ accidents, like a rubber flange on a bus door or guard rails between lanes.
Maybe if they were shooting BB guns. Looks like the smallest caliber is 7.62 or similar. Likely a very flat trajectory at 300 yards and would pass through anything but a steel bird.
Bloke on the Range I wish I lived in a Country that wasn't Australia, Unfortunately my family had an unfortunate mass exodus from Germany and Austria around 1945(if you know what I mean) and I want to experience my people's culture
Imagine its your first time driving through Switzerland, you're admiring the scenery, and then you see then you see these two buildings parallel from each other, and then BANG
I'd be hard pressed to consider it _100%_ safe. Not from motorists getting shot or anything, just that I can easily see someone who wasn't expecting to hear gunfire causing an accident on the road. I mean, I'd _also_ need to give some serious thought to the principle that bullets don't travel in a straight line, but I'm sure that the planners considered something _that_ obvious, and restrict the range to calibres that are sufficiently flat-shooting for the wall to work.
First of all the gun fire isn‘t really that loud when you‘re inside of a car. Then there are probably signs warning of the shots. Regarding the caliber, you can only shoot certain approved calibers on these ranges. Probably 5.56mm and higher.
@@Gurfi28 first of all, no need to be so condescending. Regarding the "signs" you're so sure of. If you'd actually watched the video he explained there actually AREN'T any signs warning the motorists.
Corbin Garrett sorry didn‘t intend to sound that way. After all English isn‘t my first language. But I still wouldn‘t see that as a real danger, since there are many rangers close to or even next to major roadways. And I never heard of any accident caused by shooting sound.
@@Gurfi28 what about a bad load? They do happen, even commercially. Or the fuckwit shooting a too light of a load out of a short barrel that would have been fine if it was a couple inches longer or the load was a touch hotter. This can be mitigated by forcing the use of range ammo & checking every single rifle but there's still the danger of that bad load. That would at least make the insurance requirements attainable, and the odds of a bad load on this range are likely pretty small, and actually hitting a car with one would be much much lower than that. But a berm of sufficient height next to the road would mitigate all of this. Or even in the middle of the field if it was a bit taller. All of this might exist at this range though. Was a pretty shitty video when it comes to explaining the _this range is 100% safe_ part. Edit: placement & height of any berm would depend on the trajectory of X cartridge out of Y barrel. But a bullet drop gets sharper and sharper with distance so locating the berm as close as possible to cross traffic of any kind would be the best bet.
@@Gurfi28 Heck your English is better than most born and raised brits. Don't apologise for anything. You can't display emotion through text - it's up to the reader how they want to read it. So fuck him.
On "my home range" we have two barriers to close because a small dirtpath crosses the firing line and there could be pedestrians and the farmer who owns the land between range and targets has signed a contract that he won't plant corn or sunflowers because they can grow too high to shoot over.
It's nice seeing educated gun enthusiasts enjoying their sport, I enjoy target shooting when I visit my mother's farm and I'd love the chance to shoot in a really nice facility like this.
It's not the only shooting range in Switzerland which has a road between the shooting position and targets. The Swiss are quite relaxed when it comes to firearms although they tend to adapt more and more to the stricter EU laws.

Yeah, but as long as nobody is waving their gun around like an idiot (they'd probably get tackled anyway, according to a few comments these ranges are prone only, along with the compulsory Swiss military service so they all know what they're doing ) the chances of anything bad happening are minimal.
@@WeeKev1910 I got the message. I just pointed out that they minimized it and that the attendants there would probably give anybody not following the directions of remaining prone an immediate beatdown and or tazing, and with the compulsory military service in that country everyone should ideally know how to handle themselves to begin with. Minimized, but still there sure.
Nooo in in the U.S the gun is the perpetrator, the person is not at fault at all!!! Politicians would never lie to us. We live in a world where people love each other but hunted down by guns.
It's really great to know that the world has someplace mature enough to handle and accept this. After all, we live in a world filled with harsh realities and we as human beings have the most control over the outcome. We should be living in our responsibilities not hiding them from ourselves.
It sure is a great feeling to be able to go to the range with your friend and afterwards hit the pub for a few beer! Too bad there’re people in this world that think we shouldn’t be able to do that even though it is a fun thing to do...
I think he's trying to point out the fact that there is no line of sight and no shooting trajectory that goes straight towards the road. Compound that with the fact they only let guns with an effective range longer than the one they have set up, and his title is actually rather fitting. I agree that there have been unsafe things built, but there is inherent safety in shooting ranges, provided there's enough sensibility in the people involved.
I'm afraid I'm just watching this now, but nicely done. Cool to see, I've had a similar idea of using baffles for a huge indoor shooting range. Just make a shooting bunker that prevents shots going too high and a backstop. Still probably wouldn't put a road under it X)
@Universal Kombat Right, I wasn't arguing that this range is unsafe... I was just stating that a .22lr will go 1000 yards but it'd do so incredibly impractically. Further more, if I'm reading my ballistics right, a .22 lr after going 1000 yards has about 15 ft-lbs of energy left.
@Anthony Swiss but do you really think a faulty round is going to have enough punch to fall short but also be lethal/harmful? Also think about it statistically. * Faulty rounds that fire but don't have full burn aren't common. * The round has to land on a very small area to cause harm * There has to be a car/bike rider/pedestrian in that small area at the time the fault round lands.
What adout birds flying by ? What if strong winds causes a driver to get hit ? What if children on a playground over the hill become innocent victims of stray bullets ? What if someone wants to parachute down into that meadow ? Oh my god, we're all going to die !!!! This was the minutes from town hall meeting at anytown USA.
When I first saw the targets, I was confused, worried, astonished, and dumfounded... but then when I saw where the shooting was done from, I said, "ohhhh, it all makes sense". It still is a bit strange, but heck, it WORKS. Brilliant.
The funny this is that the Swiss are actually quite risk adverse, but then we also have a tradition of building bridges, tunnels etc., so I guess we trust the engineers.
This is a genuinely nice range. A lot cleaner and better kept than many of the ranges that i have been on. If i ever travel to Switzerland i would like to visit this range.
Fairly similar range was built a few years around where I live. When I first saw the range for some weekend shooting, I was legitimately nervous and shocked at how they managed to approve it. Once set up on your bench, however, you see there is literally no possible way a bullet could ever go anywhere but down range. Also when I was a kid there was a shooting range that had trenches so you could walk out and retrieve/set targets while bullets were zipping a few feet over your head.
@@stevermacsoucher1625 the bullets can’t clear the berm and impact the road at the same time. If they go over the berm they go completely over the road.
Enjoy the videos, have not been to that one during my Swiss Visits. Have shot at Biel, the shoot over the road and under the train, Sand their range shoots over the autobahn, and Steffisburg shot over some homes, and Kloten the planes were landing over us as beside the Zurich airport.
Sig 226/2022 The only ammunition authorised is factory ball ammo which has to be purchased at the range (GP11 and GP90), thus the whole dud/squib load hypothesis is moot.
The Chap Not necessarily even factory will mess up. The only reason someone won't really hear anything about it is normally it's not that big of deal. I know I know I know I am reaching for the moon on this and it's a 1 to 1,000,000,000 chance it would happen and hit a car. But for me it's just not worth it and to say it's %100 safe is false.
Sig 226/2022 No range will ever be 100% safe due to the simple fact that we humans are in them. The fact here is that precautions have been made to ensure safe shooting despite appearances and as I have said many times in the comments, this range is really not unique in Switzerland, there are many many like it. My local range shoots across a river with footpaths along it and cows grazing around the targets, yet no man or beast gets shot. There are only so many safety barriers and systems you can construct, the rest is down to the responsibility of the users. The Swiss choose to place the responsibility for safety more heavily on the shoulders of the users rather than constructing overzealous barriers/boxes/baffles. In any other country I too would question the sense of this range, but here it works.
The Chap That's cool then. Yea here in the USA you will have that 1 person that will fuck it up for everyone else. Hell a quick UA-cam search will show that. I believe it's because we don't teach firearm safety in schools anymore. Good luck and stay safe 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Careful of stereotypes, mate. ;) My local range has lanes at 100, 200, and 300 yards and while we don't have electronic scoring, it's just as clean and the walk to the targets is good exercise. It doesn't have that view, though. Thanks for the video!
Meat Dragon Yes but shooting standing up is forbidden, and there is always a range master present to stop you even thinking about doing it, and the Swiss obey range rules, and if you are disturbed enough to want to shot at cars why bother going to a range.
Interesting enough, in the town just over the nearby lake, Thun, they have a crossbow shooting range, open once a year for traditional holiday, that also shoots over the town's mainroad. But with crossbows instead.. Also if you went for visit around Thun, there's the only tank school of Switzerland, they shoot with 27mm and 30mm because 120mm is too expensive, dangerous and noisy for the town's proximity. Frequent sighting of Leopard 2 here
You are to soft, most ranges and military training areas are near villages and roads. Its common to hear gunshot here i myself life only 1km away from a tank training field. Can get loud when they start shooting the 50cal machine gun. Even if you go in to woods here there is a good chance to hear shots from hunters.
Jetta Driver You can shoot standing and kneeing as well but we don't do it since nearly all shooting competitions with Ordonance weapons are in prone position, there is little to no use to train in other positions.
It is a safe aeroplane, what's not safe is the FAA letting Boeing skimp on engineering while designing MCAS and only taking input from one angle of attack indicator and allowing it to continue adjusting trim beyond the desired range. They also glossed over the change and pilots weren't trained according to the significant change MCAS made.
Amazing design. Great use of space. I love the idea of having a nice beer on the patio after. Wish we had that at some ranges here in the US. How very civilized.
Color me impressed... I wish we had a fancy range like that here in the US. (I'm sure there is one somewhere in the states, just not anywhere I've lived) Hell, for distance shooting, I'd be satisfied with one of those Army-style ranges with the pop-up silhouettes.
Seriously? Why did they "have" to build a shooting range RIGHT THERE? Was there really no better place to put it? like for example NOT over the main road? Or was it one of those "because we can" things?
Sion The geography of the area leaves very few flat 300m tracts of land which have not already been put to other uses. Since there was/is a legal requirement to provide 300m ranges for the serving population (ie most of it) to be able to perform their mandatory marksmanship training in their local communities, you end up with ranges like this, of which there are MANY. A great many are just a earth berm in the middle of a field for the targets and a random hut 300m away. It’s your responsibility as a random walker not to walk into the firing line. No lateral protection at all. A high sense of self discipline and respect for the rules by the nuts behind the butts allows for such ranges to function in perfect safety despite being seemingly structurally unwise or unsafe.
lol in Switzerland the runways are for landing the fighter jets then go up on elervators into the mountains and take from inside the mountains come the Swiss are amazing at what they it is like a James Bond movie over there this firing range is nothing compared to to the stuff that happens there is like lakes and mountains and were is flat ground there a road on it maybe a park on it every single bit of there county is so well thought out to over there got nothing to worry about with there firing range ever single male is conscripted into the military and and must serve until a certain age and every single male is assault rifle to take home and keep at home in case of war Evan thow they are not given ammo granted Switzerland has high gun crime but Switzerland is a has ties to any other nations so if they go to war with anyone they stand alone that’s why the Red Cross is the reverse of the Swiss flag so this gun range is nothing really compared to this James Bond nation of intervation if it was not safe they would not do and jeaze its every single house has a gun in it any way as and for them people going well what if you under load your bullets custom made bullets have you seen how clean that range most people don’t want to get hurt and I am pretty sure there not a shooting shotguns and why would you be taking custom make bullets to a shooting range to a shoot they would never let you shoot them it’s cheating and for that matter custom load bullets if it’s a competition it would be restricted
I've already shot a competition not only across a main road, but also part of an active airfield at the same time (Buochs Airbase). They have quite a complex system of baffles to shield the sites of RUAG Aviation and a car dealership. Anything covered by a baffle of 10 mm of high-tensile steel is considered not reachable and therefore safe. There's more danger from bullets passing over the backstop than to the vehicles shielded by a solid barrier. Space is scarce, and the range does not abruptly stop after 300 meters. A "danger zone" goes on for another 5,5 km where no rails, highways, power lines and densely populated areas can be located. In that case a hillside makes for an excellent backstop.
Every Men in age between 20 an 32 plus/minus, get a Sig550 by the coverement. (Fully Automatic) If somebody like to hit Cars, he dont Need to go to this Range.........
But ammunition was stopped being issued in 2008. Also must remember that the rifles are only given to those conscripted into military service. You can opt out of having a rifle and since 1006 you can do civilian service instead of military service.
Well, it's obviously not 100% safe. There's firearms involved and assuming 100% safety when firearms are involved is the first step towards a negligent discharge. Especially since, if you can see the road with the camera standing up, that means someone handling their gun carelessly whilst standing up could ruin some unlucky driver's day (and earn themselves a lifetime ban from that and any other Swiss range even if it doesn't). But even so that's not so much a matter of safety for the range itself, as it is just another reason why careful handling is a must.
This set up is not unique either, I know of at least two more. It is also not uncommon to have public footpaths/trails going over or under the butts. Warning flags are put up so if you wander into the line of fire it's your own bally fault.
what if i don't speak Swiss and can't read the flags or a kid runs off to chase a squirrel, they need something better then some flags. footpaths/trails = tourist that don't speak native language + families with small children. the Swiss government needs to protect it's own people better
@@PIERCESTORM no red flags aren't enough i can think of a couple tourist places that are staffed and have accidents every couple of years. i really don't think the trails by the gun ranges have anyone at the trail head, just a sign saying there is a active gun range and flags to mark it. when you watch the video the shots are not constant even when there is a competition. a good example is when he is sitting on the range.
Kermit Frog none the less this is still an area where you will hear active gun shots, sure they are not consistent but you most certainly will still see or hear it, and if you are talking about this Range specifically than it would be impossible to walk there because there is a clear height difference and humans can’t fucking fly
Their military is very unorganized and the country depends heavyly on imports. A good only siege would quickly bring them down. The mountains are a dangeorus place to fight, but you might not even have to fight.
@@obi-wankenobi9871 You could literally nuke the country and the Swiss would still not care. They are the only country on earth with more bunker rooms than inhabitant, they have military service and can keep their service weapon at home after that. The whole mountain is a fortress, the majority of the population has basic military training and a good chunk of the population is very proficient in sharpshooting as you can see here. It's not worth it to invade Switzerland, it would cost more men and resources without any meaningful material and territorial gains and that's the reason they could stay neutral in both world wars and not get invaded.
MightyThunderBeast I guess pistols are obviously not allowed. what really comes to mind now are actually carbines, especially lever guns, though I wonder if they have lever actions in Europe. 30-30s supposively have a lot of bullet drop, and while you can definitely have a Finnish AK hit 10s at 300m, if the shooter forgets to flip the sight to 300m, Not an issue, right?
Let me explain to you how bullets work, a spark ignites gunpowder inside the bullet inside the barrel of the gun. The laws of physics demand an exchange of gas take place. Why? Nobody knows. But that exchange MUST HAPPEN, that "MUST" is the force with which the bullet leaves the barrel. So you're saying somehow the bullet goes over the wall but travels and hits one of the cars... but how? How within the physical laws of THIS universe could that happen? I'm just asking.

That was just fantastic, It must be wonderful to live in a nation where common sense over rules emotions!
Who says it does? The problem is not that emotions are part of the discussion, it is which emotions are given weight. Fear (of invasion) is used in Switzerland to justify the range, whereas in the US fear (of something not understood) would be used to prohibit a range.

Most gun violence or just violent crime in general for the us stems from cultural issues
PunchingMegaTree Well A: I was only referring to gun crimes such as homicide and didn’t include suicide because it’s not a crime B: Sure you can be more detailed and say drugs are the cause; but drug use is directly proportional to poor economic status which still stems into cultural problems in America
laws don't really stop criminals even with the tight ass gun laws in Australia we still get a few drive by shootings every year even if you could absolutely remove all guns criminals will always find a way to kill. here one lady had someone break in to here house and they set her on fire. and what about those time someone use a car/truck to run over people on the side walk.

Got to love physics and ballistics. Many people don't know how loud bullets are flying overhead. Because most people never operated the targets in the butts.
You can get real Swiss made Sig here, but the price turns 99% away.
Wow, everything about this is so different from an American shooting range. From the guns to the cleanliness. lol.
Are you talking about a specific range in the US, or just the entire country? *wink*
In general I find your generalization, generally ridiculous.
Plight_of_Icarus Link me to a similar range...I'll wait.
That range is amazing and I love the spotting system. Never seen anything like that here in the states...

It's not the only shooting range in Switzerland which has a road between the shooting position and targets. The Swiss are quite relaxed when it comes to firearms although they tend to adapt more and more to the stricter EU laws.
Rob a underpowered bullet or even a .22 could easily hit a car.
Or a round that grazes the top of the wall and loses velocity.
What happens if someone fires a round where the load is bad and extreme bullet drop occurs?
It's all in the geometry. If the bullet clears the wall it will clear the road.
Just don’t bring anything in 45-70

Technically no range is 100% safe..it’s the people that make it safe or unsafe. Its really cool none the less
Yeah, but as long as nobody is waving their gun around like an idiot (they'd probably get tackled anyway, according to a few comments these ranges are prone only, along with the compulsory Swiss military service so they all know what they're doing ) the chances of anything bad happening are minimal.
ZaPhobos yea like I said, it’s the people that make it safe..or unsafe
ZaPhobos You missed that guys point, he’s talking about human error, and human error is inevitable!

Well, it's still up. And as long as nothing wrong happens this comment is null.
Jonymankitty very open ended. It could be open for ever. His premise is still wrong
I think he's trying to point out the fact that there is no line of sight and no shooting trajectory that goes straight towards the road. Compound that with the fact they only let guns with an effective range longer than the one they have set up, and his title is actually rather fitting. I agree that there have been unsafe things built, but there is inherent safety in shooting ranges, provided there's enough sensibility in the people involved.
wow! that's pretty crazy....but I like it!

@Universal Kombat Yeah, a .22lr will go 1000 yards... after dropping 250 feet.
* The round has to land on a very small area to cause harm
* There has to be a car/bike rider/pedestrian in that small area at the time the fault round lands.

They have a similar setup in Madgen. One shoots through a horizontal slit to protect the road underneath.

Unless some one messed up on a reload and had a very under powered load. That's just not worth the chance
Sig 226/2022 The only ammunition authorised is factory ball ammo which has to be purchased at the range (GP11 and GP90), thus the whole dud/squib load hypothesis is moot.
The Chap
Not necessarily even factory will mess up.
The Chap
That's cool then. Yea here in the USA you will have that 1 person that will fuck it up for everyone else. Hell a quick UA-cam search will show that. I believe it's because we don't teach firearm safety in schools anymore.

With modern technology, the 737 max 8 is a safe aeroplane.....

That would be a problem in usa, in switzerland people are careful and responsible with guns.
Only use high velocity rifles which are only loaded and fired whilst prone position where the traffic is completely obscured

what if i don't speak Swiss and can't read the flags or a kid runs off to chase a squirrel, they need something better then some flags. footpaths/trails = tourist that don't speak native language + families with small children. the Swiss government needs to protect it's own people better
Kermit Frog but the constant gunshots and the flags being red aren’t enough? And the fact that there aren’t incidents of that happening?
@@PIERCESTORM no red flags aren't enough i can think of a couple tourist places that are staffed and have accidents every couple of years. i really don't think the trails by the gun ranges have anyone at the trail head, just a sign saying there is a active gun range and flags to mark it. when you watch the video the shots are not constant even when there is a competition. a good example is when he is sitting on the range.

Glad to see that range is kept clean. At a range in the US thered be brass EVERYWHERE.
very cool, always like reading up on Swiss gun laws. love that electric score board
They are shooting e-bullets that’s why 😋
Quite impressive really ✌️
I love shooting but man... wtf lol.
They have something similar in Utah USA. You can walk behind the targets and set yours up whilst others are shooting.
Good luck building something like this in Australia.
Mate they would let you build it, to get the application fees etc then say no you cannot use it.
And the greens would have a complete meltdown.
No risk of a bullet passing the barrier but failing to cross the road? Do they check the ammo first? I guess rifles, and they limit you on the ammo?
Bloke on the Range restrictions on ammo and gun as well then? no pistols, no reload ammo?
a pistol at 300m?
MightyThunderBeast
I guess pistols are obviously not allowed. what really comes to mind now are actually carbines, especially lever guns, though I wonder if they have lever actions in Europe. 30-30s supposively have a lot of bullet drop, and while you can definitely have a Finnish AK hit 10s at 300m, if the shooter forgets to flip the sight to 300m, Not an issue, right?
I believe the rifle ranges only permit Swiss military rifles.
The Titanic is unsinkable!!
I get it’s “safe” enough to shoot at... But it’s still a stupid design either way. Unnecessary risk for no reason.
Except there is a reason. When you have a country with a strong shooting culture but is over 200x smaller than the USA, you run out of suitable land to situate all of the ranges. I prefer this setup over some hillbilly shooting in his backyard.
@@Blackstone9x19 I like how you're comparing the worst of one culture to the entirety of another. Makes a lot of sense. I'd rather shoot with a hillbilly than with the Paris theater shooters. Derp.
TheNajSD I like how you just complained about him comparing the worst of one culture to the entirety of another and then just said everyone who goes to this range would shoot up a movie theatre.
@@PIERCESTORM I suppose you're not one for sarcasm.
TheNajSD You can’t express emotion in texting over the internet so
The Swiss are always original and very good in everything they do!!!
not gun safety tho
Something like this would never exist in the US.
no thanks.
That's insane, soccer moms and liberals in America would have this shut down.
Swiss bullets dont react the same way as American bullets do in terms of physics. The range is dangerous.
Kingrazzor Yeah they do, they RESPECT the swiss bullets, NO bulletdrop whatsoever
This range is now on my bucket list
We have the exact same electronic target equipment at our old r200 meter range. On our combinded 200/300 meter range, we have a newer system.
Combining the two concepts "firearms" and "human beings" precludes completely the description "100% safe". End of story.
MoonEyes2k Google “clickbait” 😉
This range is safe !
The road however...
This is awesome. I wish they'd have things like this in the States. None of the ranges in America (that I've been to anyway) are that advanced with that kind of target tracking technology. Very cool!
Bucket list stars now . This is #1
The gunrange in my village is at a place where somrtimes gypsies reside and once when we were shooting in the youngshooters course (literrally translated. original: jungschützen kurs) and we had to be really careful incase their children ran infront of the range. Easily possible because there is no gate or anything on the one side
There are serious and disciplined ranges in the USA, even in the Northeast, you just have to find them. Most are clubs with strict rules, with ejection from the club and the range if you violate those rules. I belong to two such clubs where I can shoot safely and not have to worry about Bubba letting off a few rounds while I am changing my target or picking upmy brass.
