You are correct Sir. I put a pair of "snap sights" on mine, I think the brand was "Mojo" sights. They make mainly sights for mil. sup rifles. It makes sight alignment super fast, tiny ring into the bigger ring.

We are spoiled with modern sights. But it is sooooo much fun shooting with irons! ❤️
I have shot quite a few rifle but have never seen anything that could shoot as well as a K31. It’s like shooting a 22 rifle as far as accuracy only with a round that is equivalent to a 30-06. Truly a piece of art.
thanks for the info, will be put to use. kinda sounds funny with the cars driving by in the background . makes me think you're shooting from a bridge culvert as the car's pass over.
seen quite a few and never noticed the front sight and the angle it adjusts at. Auction Saturday with a couple of those and more. Using an inch pound torque wrench you can get somewhat repeatable accuracy after disassembly. Cold, try here in Ontario Canada today!
Hey bloke! I just came up your channel and already love your videos! Especially how precise you talk about swiss gun laws and culture. I hope that gets some rumours out of this world ;) In the video you talk about screw tightening and its effects on the performance. I would really love to see a video about that in the future, since it's a topic not much is found on the internet about. And there's also a lot of sciolism around... Guet Schuss us Langedorf!
Dear BOTR. I bought my K31 (belgium) and it came from surplus. It was already zeroed, aswel as all the other guys who bought K31's from diffrent locations. Guess we are lucky (Better results with GP11's then with Prvi rounds tough)
You should not thighten the screw on the front band too much. When the barrel gets hot the metal expands and it can shift the point of impact. Old swiss army trick... 😉
Bloke! My dad and I have always used 1903 Springfield's for deer hunting and regular shooting. Would love to see a pro, like yourself, get their hands on one. Keep up the good work!

I am no marksman but it was sighted perfectly. 3rd round got X at 100yds from bench. Even when rifle was hot after 60 rds...stayed on target. 300 yd gong was so much fun. Hello, were you able to get a different front sight then? I'm currently facing a similar problem, I need to go about two sights lower (my K31 came with the tallest one), but there are little to no spare front sights available on the internet. Were you able to find a source that ships to the EU? I'm from the Czech Republic.
My K31 will only zero at a fixed distance. The rear sight base is canted off to 1 o'clock. I'm debating trying to melt the solder and attempt re-setting the base collar.
May I offer a medical tip? Foam ear plugs have been shown in the medical literature to be insufficient protection to prevent long-term hearing loss due to impulsive sound, i.e. gunfire. Strangely enough, evidence also shows that muff-type hearing protectors are also insufficient. The solution? Wear plugs under muffs. I personally use electronically-amplified, loud-noise-damping, ear muff protectors to allow fairly normal hearing through all the layers of hearing protection. Greetings from Alaska. Cheers, cheerio, right-o, whut?
I doubt you'll read this, but my Schmidt Rubin 1911 is shooting high (at 25, 50, and 100y consistently) and I cant tell if it's the fault of the front sight or the rear adjustor... The rear sights lowest adjustment is 3 normally I'd assume this to be 300m. Should I be aiming down more or is there a way to adjust it down more?
As usual very helpful and interesting video. My K31 frontsight won't move using the tool and it seems resistant to brass drift and light hammer taps....Have you come across many K31s where the frontsight was immovably 'pinned' or is it that I'm just not tapping that frontsight assertively enough? Thoughts would be appreciated.
Hi mate, good video as usual. My shooting range is 200m long, I'm a bit lost about the different front sight heights... Which one, which size or height is suitable to accurately shoot at 200m ideally (or 100m) ,?
Oh and please remind me which direction to move the front sight if I need to move the point of impact to the LEFT i.e it currently shoots to the right . I've seen BOTH directions cited on various websites by contributors....
Hi Bloke. I like your vids a lot. Im in switzerland too and will look for a K31 in the next days for me. You wrote about that you will tell and show some more about "how to set the screws". Did you do already? I didnt found that up to now. Can you help me?
By the way....I was in a shop today. They had 2 K31. 1500,- and 1800,- CHF.....They look very good and had both a new barrel. But I really was astonished, because I did read at "swisswaffen" about possible prices here....Im "beginner" in this guns. Just shoot 9mm pistol since a year and did shoot german military when I was a lot younger..
Yes, I think so too and will go to another shop today and maybe look some others in the next days. In the net I see K31 for around 150,- up to 200,- and they say they are good or very good. I will see.... Im near Bern.
I was at Glauser today. They actually didn't have exactly that what I prefer, but they have a lot K31 "auf Lager". So I gave them the specifications what I would prefer and they will go and look for 3-4 that fit my specifications. Then I will go and take one of them. Very good shop and very friendly people there!
Dear Bloke, How can I obtain a front sight adjustment tool for my beloved 1952 K31 for a "reasonable" price? I found one on an army rifle arcania web site, but the price was U.S. $145 plus shipping.
@@BlokeontheRange At 6:32 the last tap with your lump hammer appears to have launched the old front site clear off the bench and out into the range. Perhaps my viewing of this upon my G7 cellphone is amplifying your hammering skills ergo my question of "Did you find the front site?"
Help...the frontsight won't move. Checked it time and time again with a micrometer after more and more enthusiastic persuasions with larger and larger drifts and hammers. Two bent brass drifts later it has not moved....I've tried heat. So I'm going to increase the strength of the blows. In case or more likely when I damage the sight itself where is best to obtain a standard replacement (the fall of shot is fine at 100m so a standard one is fine for me). Any suggestions as to something else to try and where to source the sight is much appreciated.

I own 5 Milsurps and by far the K-31 is the highest of quality, with the best trigger, good sights, and the action just feels amazing. The GP-11 is legendary ammo. The clips actually work, as opposed to most strippers, or you can use and extra mag (if you are rich mags are really expensive). You really feel like you own a work of art with a K-31.
