I would absolutely love this library....but it would it just be for my own pleasure, as there’s not much in the way of work involving these instruments! See what Santa brings! 😉
For live performance I'm liking more SWAM and Sample Modeling with the breath & bite controller2. You get much more finesse when switching between legato, staccato, and effects. I find that MOJO2 sound better for an orchestral style but not for Funk / latin / Pop brass..... The trumpets have no bite. The saxes are too sweet... While I didn't have a breath controller I liked NI Session Horns Pro more . MOJO2 seemed great when composing orchestral, but in practice you've got tons of tinkering to do afterward... If you're composing on keyboard save yourself some time and try the competitors. Its way better to perform whats in your head - and get it right without having to do post editing.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Ian. I always wondered about the breath controller combined with the SWAM line. Then again, any breath controller might give a leg up as you have one more stream of controller data!
I totally disagree with the comparison of Session Horns Pro being the better-sounding collection. It's not really all that difficult to apply some EQ to fine-tune these sounds. I definitely like the programming of this collection far more than Session Horns Pro.
Currently looking for a supplement to Session Horns Pro. This might be it. My hesitation is in line with your con; no ensemble. One of my favorite features in SHP. Great look. Thanks!
If the articulation control UI switched panels every time it got a midi input, then it would be impossible to tune the knobs and listen at the same time because any new articulation would flip your view to a different panel.
Certainly sounds gorgeous but, I wanted to hear the French Horn as it's my favourite brass....not that it really matters at the moment though as this library's way out of my price range :)
It's the weakest patch of the collection, although that could be due to it not being an overdone orchestral (heavy reverb) sound. It's raw, so maybe that's something you'd like. They have samples on their website that you can click on for each instrument. Try it out there.
As far as the keyswitches not changing the articulation page in the interface...imagine you've programmed a bunch of rapidly-changing articulations and what a mess that would make of the interface if it reacted to all of that. It would look like it's glitching out.
Yeah I see you point, but I still would like a more defined visual cue for which articulation is selected -maybe even just if it was highlighted. Just my 2 cents
I picked these up recently. I'm not disappointed overall, but the tenor sax legato with real vibrato is horrible. It's almost unusable. It sounds like a completely different instrument than the non vibrato. Overall, compared to Session Horns Pro, the sound has much less body and character. Doesn't sound as good in isolation, but OK in a mix. And it's a nice complement to SHP with velocity switching, their version of ensemble and that lighter sound.

@@SampleLibraryReviews Breath controller was a revelation for me and one of the best birthday presents ever. Love it 100%.

There is ensemble programming... choice of horns up to 10, with auto-divisi if that's your jam.
I'm missing the metallic sound coming out of a Sax with vst's
i wish they could release the midi so i can see how they did this
@Zachary Arturo stop it

sounds great.. but they took out the riffs section! What it was famous from previous VST Mojo Horns 1~ :(
You can keep both collections together. You don't have to remove the original collection if it has unique things you like about it.

French horn, but no tuba? And it's missing the flutes. Other than that... it's an excellent collection, but there's actually room to grow here.
