    This rings so true. I’m saying this from experience. I’m on the 30day challenge course and y’all it’s life changing. I’ve never wanted to voluntarily recommend a course as much as this one

    Just completed day one (uploading later)
    As you do, I was explaining why I was taking on the challenge. I thought it was to improve in front of the camera. However this video has made me realise its to improve ‘more’ off camera and being on camera ironically will help me achieve this.
    Thanks Thomas

    Great tips, Thomas! I realized the other day, that I no longer feel uncomfortable filming myself. Alone. When no one is around. I still can't 'get into' talking to the camera when there are people around. Even my husband! It just feels very 'self conscious'. I'm hoping to practise that more and get out of my own way and eventually be able to master it! You've been a big help!

      Yup, doing it around people is a next step (if that's your goal). Check this vid for tips with that: ua-cam.com/video/jgIStjgv2wA/v-deo.html

    Great video, been going through your old channel too! I can now watch myself back and not cringe, it's just getting better at delivery but practice makes perfect! Trying to recreate that conversational tone with the camera is the hardest part for me.. :) Keep up the good videos dude!

    Wow, I had no idea where you were going with this based on the title. But man does this make good sense.

    I love this.. I’ve been binge-watching your old & new vids, (amazing stuff), but I think this is the one that finally hit home enough to get me to tap the record button. Thank you SO much!

    I watched this video 2 or 3 times last month, but I didn't really take in the different levels and meanings of what was communicated by this young man. I see it now though and understand, watching it again today.
    Personally, I found the 30 day challenge rather like playing with fire. I don't regret starting the challenge, but the changes it started to bring about in me have been...
    painful at times...
    difficult to try to process...
    caused a lot of tears, soul-searching, upset.
    If you really put yourself into this challenge (put in effort), your authentic self _will_ be brought out. However, if you've forgotten who that is, it may be a painful process. The same if you find you don't particularly like your true self or who you've become because of life.
    I thought I might learn to make better videos, to try to help others in various ways.
    What I got was life-changing for me personally. I'm still trying to sort through it all.
    I don't intend to sound critical. I'm sorry if I do.
    It's on me for not realizing "being authentic" could have significant offline consequences. I think I mixed up being truthful / not being deceptive with being "authentic". I want to continue to be truthful and not be deceptive, but... as for authentic... 🤔 What a predicament!

      Yes sometimes taking to camera can be a painful self awakening but always one that if taken in the right way can be the basis for real, genuine improvement - as you can see it!

      @@portal.creative Thank you for taking time to comment!
      The real, genuine improvement you mention is not for the squeamish. 😀
      Thank you for helping me along in what I know is good growth, even though it's painful at the moment.
      🌱 A plant cannot begin to grow and thrive unless the seed is destroyed VS not being able to make a new video without crying. 😭

    I am curious about whether you write scripts for your videos or not, I found really difficult to be 'authentic' while delivering your script

    • @portal.creative
      @portal.creative  Рік тому +2

      Yeah def, you're right - that why there are no scripts here - just a bullet points for each thing I wanna say

    • @montsecaso
      @montsecaso Рік тому

      @@portal.creative good to know, that is my approach at the moment - Bullet Points and Ideas in order to make sure I say them but I don't have a script word by word
