Hi Guys and Gal. In my opinion this rivals any of Nightwish's greatest songs. Can you imagine trying to do the Floor vocals at karaoke. All the band is on point - drums, guitar bass and keyboards. MAGNIFICIENT piece of music.
Yesterwynde: This album is like an old concept album by Pink Floyd, you might take the time to listen to it from the first song all thru to the last one. After about 50 times now it grew on me up to the 5 best albums I own - and I am 64 now and have about 8000 records. The last song -Lanternlight- is my personal song of the year 2024 by far. It is very, VERY different but exactly that is the reason. For me Nightwish has evolved to those rare bands, that create art without any consideration to what anybody expected or to say it the short way: Nightwish does Nightwish things. Greetings from Germany
Nightwish will not be touring this album, it could be, at the very least, two year's before we get to hear song's from this album performed live. Next year will see a big tour by Auri (Toumas, his wife Johanna,Troy and Kai) and lots of solo show's by Floor, so you can forget anything live until possibly 2026, the 30th anniversary of Nightwish. Floor was given two weeks to add the vocals to this album, she did them all in six day's, this just six weeks after the birth of her second child. Apparently, she could hardly stand up during the recordings and also had to take breaks to feed the baby; she sounds absolutely amazing! The final track on the album is called Lanterlight, a lyrical and musical masterpiece by Toumas and Floors vocals are well, astounding as is her video performance.
Troy is playing Uilleann pipes at the end of the song. If you haven’t already checked The Perfume of the Timeless, the official video has some incredible diving scenes, if you’re interested. Unfortunately not any live videos from their latest album.
Thanks for sharing your detailed reaction/analysis to a song that for me explores themes of solitude, self-discovery, and the existential journey through life's trials. The imagery of the ocean, islands, and mariners reflects a metaphorical exploration of the human experience connecting with other individuals. The song captures the essence of navigating life’s uncertainties and finding one's place in a vast, often unwelcoming world. It suggests a longing for connection and understanding while grappling with the weight of past experiences and the isolation they can bring. P.S. Butterflies represent transformation on all levels, claims ecotherapist Anna Cariad-Barrett: "Butterflies show us how we can go within ourselves to dissolve old forms and morph, rebuilding and evolving ourselves," she explains, noting that they show us the importance of surrender and trust "as part of the essential process of growth and renewal." Floor recorded her vocals after just 6 weeks after having given birth to her 2nd daughter. In an interview with Charismatic Voice she told that it was painful to stand behind the microphone.
You are shure? 2026 with full Orchestra for 30years. Okay, in a Opera house, like the Royal Albert Hall or Elphi in Hamburg..You Orchester in the town. Grettings from northern Germany 🤘
