  • Tonight we tackled some typical issues with NBA Cards from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. Surface cleanup of 1980s Fleer Michael Jordan Card, Beam Team David Robinson, and Pete Maravich All Star. We bring these basketball cards back to their playing days.

Great stuff! Especially with SGC having a basketball special at the moment. Sweet results on the Pete!!! Just picked up a 2nd year Pistol today I plan on touching up before I send it in. Thanks Kurt!

Hey Kurt. Would love to see you do a NBA ex 2000 or ex 2001. Those cards don't grade well and have multiple levels.

I have them on here somewhere, you can clean them, but structural issues are pretty hard to deal with or usually permanent

Good stuff! What about the dent near Pistol’s left hip? I struggle with those.

I must have missed it in the madness :) Probably a little card spray or humidor session might help. Or it could be just a dent that doesn't move. I get those often on 70's surfaces.

So a drop of spray and let it displace or dab it?

I have an issue that I hipe you have dealt with prior. I would love any ideas you may have.
Some blue sharpie from one card's front on-card auto transferred to the back of the adjacent card because they were touching each other in a box.
Let me clarify; The autos had dried before I put them in the box together, the bleed happened sometime later.
The autos are mostly fine on the front of the cards but some of the backs of the next card absorbed blue sharpie (transfer shadowing) from the adjacent card's front facing autograph.
It is not common but it happened enough to aggravate me.
Mainly see this happening on Prizm and other "shiny" type modern cards.
Any ideas of how to clean the blue sharpie shadow bleed from back of these cards?
P.S. anyone have a good practice when getting autos to keep them from touching each other (yes, I let them dry before I put them in a box) while walking around getting more autographs?

Can you show me a picture? If you’re on Instagram show me what you’re seeing and I’ll give you some ideas. If it’s on a paper finish it will be permanent. But if it’s plastic, I can probably coach you through it.
