I love how’s he’s so bad at everything EXCEPT ironically therapy
Tobias is just hilarious.
Right?!!
@Xyre154 what? Why?
@Xyre154 😥😥😥. Bob Loblaw couldn't get him off?
@Xyre154 Daddy wants to get his rocks off!
My marriage has hit a bit of a rough patch.
I don’t want to blame it all on 9/11, but it certainly didn’t help.
My anniversary is 9/11 😂😂😂
A Severely underrated line
Really, when did that start?
Oh you poor thing
I miss these excessively offensive shows 🤦🏽♀️😂
There has never been a weirder point of my life than when I constantly binged this show
hey i do that too lol
Absolutely love this show. The best thing about this show is that the jokes evolves along with you and the writers are no doubt are clever af.
Same
Ive binged watch it twice now
Why is this the most accurate thing I have heard in my life...!!!!
One of the most underrated, misunderstood series ever...
I loved this show!! It was so amazingly witty and and sharp, all the awkward moments were perfectly performed. Love the casting.
I watched it and enjoyed it a lot until Jason Bateman met Charlize Theron, whose character was bit too bizarre and unreal for my taste.
True. Period!
@j mula Yeah the first three were the best but 4 and 5 were still funny.
@j mula I think even season 4 and 5 were still pretty good
I love how the narrator just states facts with no emotion, just tells exactly what’s happening
It's Ron Howard
@@dang.9125 I didn't know that until like season 5, I was blown away
I won’t ruin your 420 likes.
@@OL-qk7ey Narrator: "He did."
He gets pretty personal when talking about the show Scandal Maker's narrator.
"I'm an analyst and a therapist, the world's first analrapist"
🤣🤣🤣
yeah I didn't get that till now, thanks by the way
Yes, on paper, it did not look good…
Great Work Combo, Bad Business Card lol.
He’s definitely not the first
Not really the phrasing that bothered me....
OH MY GOD WE’RE HAVING A FIRE..saleOH THE BURNING
Pink Lemonade - and he's holding the page just so he can remember the (sale) part.
David's timing is awesome.
Would you like to try that a little...simpler, maybe
This isn’t a fever!!!
Aamaa
Ziiing Graace
CAN'T EVEN SEE WHERE THE KNOB IS!!!!
David Cross is such an underrated actor. Whenever he's in bad movies, he's the only good part. When he's in good productions, he still stands out.
His stand up caught me off guard as well.
He’s beyond fucking hilarious.
well said
Minion anyone?
His parts are the only I watch from this show in fact
the best lines are when he was trying to get in the blue man group and he kept saying “I just blew myself”
Wait... It was a pun all along?! Dammit English as second language
" ... He said some wonderful things."
😂😂😂
My favorite is when he gets on to catch a predator, and is oblivious to the entire thing as always.
@@loreseeker6604 'Daddy needs to get his rocks off!' Best line lol
What an incredible character, brilliantly written and "acted."
😂
An "ACK-tore"
He indeed is the perfect chatacter,. Every second of tobias is pure gold to me,. He made me laugh so much its unreal,. Excuseeee me
*I've never seen this show before, and I just stumbled upon this clip... I honestly thought that was Jim Carey in heavy makeup.... The mannerisms really looked like a character that Jim Carey would play... Kind of shocked to see it wasn't him when I looked it up after.*
It was the best of times it was the worst of times
"Somewhere over the rainbow...there's another rainbow..."
Best line
Everytime tobias is on screen you knew a joke is coming.
In the scene where he walks out naked, it's so clear they're all trying to avoid to burst out laughing. So amazing
Gob's face. Looks like he's wretching on his bowl
What about the shorts?
Becky Bertish there’s an episode where he take them off and then he doesn’t wear any clothes
haha Lindsey's reaction really seems genuine too
@@beckybertish7841 In this episode, he had just had sex for presumably the first time in a good while. Thus, the "overconfidence".
David Cross was meant to play this role
And he knew it. They wanted him to play GOB at first but he saw the Tobias character in the script and immediately knew how to play it.
He was the first one cast, I think.
The attention to detail and continuity on this show was incredible. It's not enough that they had the joke about Tobias wearing leather. He was wearing his never-nude shorts under the leather! 😂😂😂
Damn i never noticed that. Good eye
Also when he asked where the magic happens at the leather party and says “Danke shoen” (German for thank you very much)
Jessica Walters' looks of disapproval are the funniest nonverbal communications I ever see. 🤣
Him singing “somewhere over the rainbow there’s another rainbow” is one of my favorite jokes on the show. Genius
That fire sale commercial would’ve worked
Right off the bat the scene of Tobias becoming a pirate and getting in the gay van was when I knew I’d love the show, it’s only 7 min into the episode but that’s the moment I knew
Same here.
It really hit the ground running
Honestly when I really think about it, same here. I knew something special was unfolding. The editing of that scene was genius. As a person who can appreciate the technical aspect I knew the comedy would be something else. They used every tool in the book , not just writing and actors to tell a hilarious story start to finish. Masterpiece
same!
You mean it didn’t make you want to set yourself on fire? 😂
Tobias choking himself with the chain is the funniest shit I’ve seen in a long time.
My UA-cam algorithm knows me better than I know myself.
Elpidio Vega YES!
If course I do.
When he falls out out of the director chair - lmao
God he's funny. It's simple but hard acting to do really well I believe.
Most of Tobias’ physical gags were completely unscripted. Mitch Hurwitz told him to just do what he thought was funny. The story of Tobias is probably on UA-cam somewhere but it’s on the AD dvds
one of the greatest characters ever put to screen
I'm afraid I shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run if you will, and now I have somewhat of a mess on my hands
There has to be a better way of saying that - MB
So many poorly chosen words...
I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run if you will, and now I have somewhat of a mess on my hands
There's just so many poorly chosen words in that sentence...
You might be surprised at your phrasing
I've watched the first three seasons half a dozen times or so and I just now picked up on the "nice to see you off the couch" line.
Hal Wakka what does it mean?
That's why this is one of my favorite series because there is always something you can pick up on
ihazateddibear what does it mean?
Hal Wakka I dont get it help pls
Michael was being sarcastic because he's still laying on a couch, just not the one at home.
this compilation effectively hides my thunder
The casting in this show was so on point. I couldn't imagine any of actor/actresses playing any of the Bluth's.
Seasons 1 through 3 have some of the best writing and acting in tv history!
I mean I can kinda see the actors for George Sr. and Oscar switching places
Tobias is my favorite AD character.
Robert Treacy aside from maybe George Costanza, he’s my favorite character from any comedy. David Cross is just BRILLIANT
brett 2004 I like him even more than George. But how Jason Alexander never won shit for that role is a mystery, he was the best character in the show and the only one not to win
This comment section is certainly full of cultured peeps. Love seinfeld nd arrested development ❤❤❤
I love Analrapist, my favourite part of the show
Prison mike!
Or Anustart, that´s a good one too
this doesn't sounds good taken out of context lmao
My favourite is definitely
Michael- “That is the last lie I ever want to hear from this family”
Tobias- “Oh Hello my wife who I am sexually in love with”
Michael- “Ok that was the last one”
JUST A SQUIRT OF FROSTING DOWN YOUR THROAT
HELPS THE MEDICAAAATIONNN
Great advice Mrs Fingerbottom.
I love how Portia is trying hard not to laugh in the last clip.
been looking for comments on it, their reactions all look genuine like he was actually nude there
Tobias is my kind of comedy
I love how pathetic Tobias is. He pulls the whole sheet with numbers down in a vain attempt to keep anyone else from auditioning and taking the part.
A very Tobias response.
Never thought of it that way 😂 just thought he was being awkward and clumsy and ripped them all off while running away from Michael
And I’m the lAAaaaast cop you’d wanna mess with in a dark alley… always gets me. So many great lines!
“And I don’t just lie there if that’s what you’re thinking”.
And the hide of an ele-font lol
....and NO laughter track.
Doesn't need one. I'm dead laughing already.
Which makes it 100x funnier
Laugh tracks do not work with shows like this
@@initfive unfunny shows have laugh tracks. Well except for Seinfeld
Shows don't still have laugh tracks do they
At 14:03....Did anyone else notice at "Customers who bought "The Man Inside Me" also bought....." the 4th recommended book entitled....
"The Low Carb Bi, Gay and Transgender diet by B.J. Zuckerkorn"
LOL
holy shit, i never noticed that! Barry was one of my favorite side characters.
I did not, but thanks for pointing this out! Hilarious.
@@flipclone mine too. I laughed and cringed when he would be there. Lol
@@jmbechtel I had to stop and look at it again and again....lol
Really messed up the single best joke of Tobias. The whole line is, "Hello, my name is Dr. Tobias Funke. I graduated with honors from Boston College and I did my post-graduate in psycho-linguistics at MIT. And this is "You're A Bad, Bad, Man" from "Annie Get Your Gun."
It's either to late or I'm just dumb. What was the joke?
@@olliefoxx7165 exactly what it says
I love this video, so I had to find fault, but there are a couple of clips in this video where they started too late or ended too early, and missed some good lines. One example was after he said “well excuse me!”, Then he looks at Michael and Lindsay and quietly says “excuse me” and slinks out of the room.
@@olliefoxx7165 that he’s auditioning for the blue man group, a silent performance group
For me the most memorable character in the show.
PointBlack1O'8 Barry Zuckercorn
I understand more than you'll...never know.
i don't know how michael cera managed to get through that scene without laughing
A N A C TO R
Eric AN ACTOR FOR CRYIN’ OUT LOUD!.
Hazaah!
This series was ahead of it‘s time!
it still is, there is still no sitcom with the same intelligent meta humor and jokes that are being developed throughout several seasons. it's like a really great and smart cartoon comedy but with really amazing actors, the narrator is great, how they use the 12 or sth songs of the soundtrack just perfectly, the brilliant criticism of (US) politics, economy and society, the double entendres, many hidden jokes, many jokes ppl only get if they know some economics or business administration, the unique characters, how Jeffrey Tambor just shines while playing the two completely different twin brothers, Carl Weathers, Liza Minelli... the stair car, the way the show points out the fact that most ppl who grew up rich simply don't get on living a life without an endless supply of money by their families company after it went bankrupt, the white screen before the ad break instead of black screen just to do it differently, (wrongly) announcing the ad break itself, there's so many special and unique things that make this show the greatest sitcom of all time
Streets ahead even
I love the play on the "No Touching" running gag at 10:44 when George Sr is telling White Power Bill, "No teaching. No teaching." while being touched by Tobias
It was the exact moment at 1:26 when Tobias started awkwardly stomping his foot when I knew I was going to fall in love with this show.
I also love how he repeatedly can't remember his queue to start singing.
I love the way he says he didn't get a job with what sounds like pride.
“And I’m the laaaaast cop you want to run into in a dark alley!” That made me laugh so hard after not seeing it forever hahaha..
I love how Tobias somehow is almost always in a super-gay situation, but he Really doesn't realize it!
He’s in deep deep denial.
@@yaboi-km2qn hahaha!
Love how a lot of these comments are recent. Just started watching AD, I’m on season 4, but the first 3 were the funniest things I’ve ever seen
I just started today and I am hooked, I see alot of people saying that season 4 isn't that good which i am hoping they are wrong.
Left Over Fajita season 4 was terrible, I pretend that season 4 and 5 didn’t happen
4s is pretty decent but very hard to follow and 5 is best if you skip
"How's your job search coming?" - Every relative when coming over on any holiday ever
"It's good! It's _going_ to be good, it's _going_ to be good." - Every teen when relatives comes over on any holiday ever
"somewhere over the rainbow is another rainbow" 10/10
"Am I touching something?" I love how so many jokes in this show have multiple meanings. They had some of the greatest writers in sitcom history (obviously my opinion, don't want the wrath of the youtube comments to come down on me :P )
"Excuuuuuuuuu-uuuuuuuuse Me...!!!" - "Huzzaaaahhh!!!" - "I'll understand more than you'll...... never know....." - "Well, that certainly leaves me out...." - Brillant!
"there are dozens of us!!!! dozens!!!"
The entire cast is so good but Tobias is such a favorite. I love how David Cross gave us such a great character.
3:54 -- Am I touching something? Brilliant writing and deliver. I love this corn ball scene so much.
GF: why do you watch AD compilations 24/7 Me: *shimmying* welll excussseee meee
Maggie not really being blind is my absolutely FAVORITE joke in the whole show
like when she literally let her dog cause chaos and destruction just to keep up the act
All of these actors are truly incredible. The writing is fantastic. This show is such a hidden gem, and having just finished season three, twenty years after its original airing, it is truly amazing. The show moves so quickly, every episode captured me in a way no show has done before. The details and the intelligent acting choices that everyone makes are so fun to watch, and they frequently work really well. David Cross was incredibly in this role.
My favourite charachter. Along with Lucille. And Portia di Rossi. And Michael. And everyone else. I don't have favorites. I've never cared for Job. Brilliant show !
Laurence von Winkenburger I agree except that Gob is one of my favorites!
Gob is definitely one of my favourites
We don’t care for Gob.
Gob is fucking hilarious
@Random Runner Sh-sh-should the guy sh-should the guy in the 32 dollar sh-sh-should the ... come on! Come on! Come on!
Everyone:Theater
Tobias:The-a-tor
I literally cried of laughter the first time I saw the fire sale scene
"I'd like to go to the gothic castle"
Cab driver (in thick british accent): "the gothic a**hole?"
"That's what I said"
I never picked up on that before, they even tricked the censors on that one, pretty sure that's normally supposed to be censored. And it's confirmed by the next scene where only the "ole" part of the bar's sign is visible.
5:10 is one of the most randomly bizarre and hilarious character moments for Tobias.
"Do these effectively hide my thunder?"
Genius
GIRLS! Low Self Esteem
"Is tthis what you want?"
"Oh GOD No!"
"Becausse this could be where your daughter is headed"
"Oh! No no, I don't want this for Maybe either"
Genius.
Please give Tobias Funke his own show!!
(somberly turns “Dr House” license plate downward on the dresser)
Too much of a good thing
“Deep deep concentration and great focus”
I love that Tobias is a never nude 😂
There are dozens of us! *DOZENS!!!*
Leather daddy
I love how Tobias is supposed to be a therapist but is also a never nude.
5:30 Lindsay takes away Tobias’s towel and he goes back into the closet… omg they’ve done it again, I must have watched this show over 25 times and I’ve seen something new again.
How do they keep a straight face is beyond me.
I love the way Tobias says theater
10:46 "No teaching, no teaching!" Every time you go back and rewatch these scenes you find a new joke
That walk at 6:48 is just HILARIOUS!!
He took off the jean shorts in the end!!!!?!! Well done Tobias!!
Redbeardian my favorite moment from this clip also! Tobias’ choices as an actor are pure comedy gold.
6:20
Doctor: I'm sorry I need you to be completely undressed
Tobias: I am undressed.
Doctor: *checks chart*
David Cross was made for this part……he’s superb!
Love that at 6:21 the producers didn’t even try to make it look like a doctors office, the tv set oh god oh glorious tv set
"Nothing has ever gone well for me and you know that!"
"I'm looking for the magic"
14:04
I've never noticed the other books in the "customers also bought" section! Love the easter eggs in this show
1:26 to 1:34
The dancing mixed with the stuttering is pure brilliance
David Cross’ timing is impeccable
OH MY GOD WERE HAVING A FIRE……. Sale
Everyone on this show was perfectly cast. I find myself cracking up at every Tobias scene!
with deep deep concentration and great focus 😭
He was like the only character other than Jeffrey Tambor that really didn't age in the new seasons.
Tango Hendrix Bald men age well
'I think I made the fire too real...for them'. LMAO
Do these effectively hide my thunder
😆
My favorite is when hes in the lawyers house being sneaky... That part had me Rollin!!!!!
This is great, but it needed the therapy session with Bob Odenkirk. "RIGHT! IF I'M NO SCHWIMMER, YOU'RE NO JENNIFER ANISTON!"
This is one of the best comedic character ever produced on TV
Tobias is the most fantastic character! David Cross is hilarious 😂
Idk how they held it together when he came down naked, they were all about to crack
The fire sale bit was brilliant.
*lies flat on the ground*
Him choking after touching the corn ball machine kills me
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything!" Every line is gold.
"......... With deep.... deep concentration and great focus he is often able to achieve an er....." Oh man. Tobias is just something else. 😂😂😂😂😂
