On the DVD commentary, they were talking about how Bob Einstein doesn't learn lines so they literally had someone feeding him his lines in that earpiece. Amazing.
I always find it hilarious whenI hear stories about actors who refuse to learn lines. That has to be the only job where you can get away without doing a core component of it and still having a chance at being a legend
It's a shame that Funkhouser had to work as a surrogate. Good thing that Larry David or Richard Lewis never discovered this. They would have mocked him to pieces
In the DVD extras (😱) he gets a lot of praise from the cast and producers for this role. He also apparently never liked to memorize lines, so this was kind of perfect for him.
Missing the most clever part of this bit where they were in the board room saying there could be listening devices, then the camera goes to middleman, then a boom mic dips into the shot
Woah, just realized Rita’s uncle yelling at Michael “how’d you like someone going after some stupid person in your family” wasn’t him just being rude 😳
@@kiraofthesky5561 Indeed. Mitchell Hurwitz even said in a commentary that he gave Ann that name just for the joke, "I think George Michael's hiding Ann in the attic." "From who, the Nazis?"
It‘s just amazing how Larrys Voice is just the same no matter if in or out of character. Even as a person outside this show he talks like that. Just beautiful ❤
Larry telling Michael that the waffle station is “over there” without providing any context to what is “over there” is one of my favourite jokes in the whole series
I said this on another video, but I find George Sr not wanting to be interrupted while watching baseball to be lovable for some reason. It’s just that, with him shouting “don’t come in here”, you expect him to be trying to escape or something lewd. But nah, the guy just likes his baseball.
Super Dave!!!! Rip ❤
Well thanks for ruining my night.
He was no Einstein

No way🤣
I always find it hilarious whenI hear stories about actors who refuse to learn lines. That has to be the only job where you can get away without doing a core component of it and still having a chance at being a legend
I mean, in this case the actor was in character about as much as. he could have been
@@JohnBasedowYoda I don't think in this case he was ''refusing'' per se, maybe it was done on purpose to achieve the desired comedic effect
Indeed raw acting
That opening line "We're not here to talk nonsense with Bob Loblaw" 😂
WahWahWah
One of the best comedic premises and executions ive ever seen, sincerely. And casting marty funkhouser was a stroke of genius
He is worth every penny.
Hey I didn’t say that!
I'm glad that even a pro like Larry has a breaking point. It really fills him out as a character
Never noticed before how George senior says at 03:03 “I’m watching the game” and Larry only repeats it at 03:07 because of the lag
Thank you for pointing that out lol
Good catch
The hug fake out was perfect. His physical comedy is just as brilliant as his deadpan line delivery.
“You shouldn’t have said anything.”
“YOU shouldn’t have said anything!”
"it'll look real if you squint GOD KNOWS THEY'RE SQUINTERS!" 😂😂
My favorite part!!
I was so unprepared for that one, had me ROLLING
It's a shame that Funkhouser had to work as a surrogate. Good thing that Larry David or Richard Lewis never discovered this. They would have mocked him to pieces
I heard Mr Fuji screwed him over big in the end and he was left broke...
What an einstein.
In the DVD extras (😱) he gets a lot of praise from the cast and producers for this role. He also apparently never liked to memorize lines, so this was kind of perfect for him.
Bob Einstein really pulled these two characters off
“He’s worth every penny”
“Hey I didn’t say that”
Lmao, Larry knows how to promote himself
But he can't sell the sarcasm.
i love how job just accepts him as his dad
Gob and yes!!
@@arresteddev Did I say job? I meant Gob!
But of course it was Buster that hit her, Gob just gave her the roofie
funny how they represent that at 4:05 with Larry standing in front of George Senior's frame

Worth every penny
Hey, I didn’t say that
"Larry, go to a mirror" literal tears
His name is Larry Middleman. How did I miss this 💀
hahaa!! I never thought of that. Had to think for like 20sec before I even understood this comment...

One of the best bits in TV history. Whoever came up with Larry should be so proud of their work.
"I wanna kiss my new daughter-in-law!"
"Hey, not on our time Larry"
".. Right on the lips!"
"Just trying to make you laugh, dad. It's all I ever wanted" 😭
Literally just switched the channel on him poor guy
They should've had a scene of Lucille going out to lunch with Larry Middleman. That would've been hilarious.
Missing the most clever part of this bit where they were in the board room saying there could be listening devices, then the camera goes to middleman, then a boom mic dips into the shot
George lying on bed saying "I'm watching the game..." then Larry 2 seconds later from the other room "I'm watching the game..."
“Don’t come in here. Don’t come in here”. This is one of the funniest comedic roles of all time. God bless Bob Einstein.
I cannot get over how the surrogate is walking away while actively saying and being told not to go
0:29 'i'm sorry, have we met?'
“Check out banner, Michael!”
*Michael Love Marry*
LOL how did I never catch that they brought back the banner joke from earlier in the season!
