This helped a lot! My starter was frigged and when I changed it the truck still wouldn't start. I found this video and my starter relay fuse was blown. I attribute the blown fuse to my non-conventional way of starting the truck when my old starter was going.
Thank you for a very informative video. I was having problems with the starter engaging and I was able to troubleshoot all the way down to the starter for the final issue
BIG TIME THANKS.... My kid is having intermittent startinh issues on his 2011 Ranger. We are having a Father's Day Trouble shooting repair day, lol, well.... maby lol.
This video is a godsend. So im having trouble with my ford ranger (2011 4.0L) Battery is 100%, starter is good, alternator is good, all my fluids are good. I cleaned the battery cables today. But I am having an issue where I try starting my truck up and it stutters, then a second try and it stutters but tries to come on, and third try it turns on. Could this possibly be a fuse problem? Or wiring? I don’t really want to take it in due to paying a high price for a diagnostic so im doing every attempt to figure out the problem. Please help!
Does it exhibit these symptoms every time you start the vehicle or only after it has been sitting for awhile? One potential problem that can cause what you are describing is a failing check valve in the fuel pump.
@@LehewTech its only happening when its idle for awhile. If i have been using it, it usually starts back up. Give it about 30 minutes and it starts to stutter again.... its so strange
Great video, but I’m still stuck! Power at the 40amp ignition fuse, but no constant power on any of the wires at the ignition switch plug. No power at all when I turn the key. Pls help
Ranger 2011, 4.0, automatic, starts and drives good, new battery too. After 20km drive or about 10-15 drive I turn the car off and I cannot start it for 3-10 min, key turn, starter doesn’t even try anything. Had keys stolen and after that the issues started. Keys were replaced and programmed properly. I have autostarter installed with a coffin style key holder, also doesn’t start, just clicks, by also, after 3-10 min I can start the car with it. It’s not my halo, as coffin has it’s own halo, obd showed my 1260 code but was starting with it, I cleared it, code doesn’t show up anymore. Brought it to ford, they can’t figure out anything I’ve added a video to my channel, just to show the issue
Where does the purple wire of the starter goes through I saw mine is still on the starter connected with the red wire but it is just hanging there and I don't know where to connect it or trace it.
Help! My 2003 goes dead overnight. There is a constant draw and I CANT find the source. I pulled all the fuses one at a time and saw a small draw on each one. Is there a common problem in this truck?
my truck would not turn over last week and then again today. I wiggled, pulled and put back in the starter relay and now it starts instantly. Does this mean that the relay is going bad or is there a connection problem that I can perhaps tighten up?
Saved my life I had to switch the relays around I’m so happy
The tip about the neutral switch just saved my ass, thank you so much❤
Great troubleshooting video. Simple straightforward instructions to get started. I'm going tackle father-in-laws 2010 Ranger.

Very helpful. Ended up being a bad relay. Thanks!!
You saved my butt, I moved the 30 amp box relay in the cab for another and fixed it. Thank you!

Your video was awesome. I was able to find and troubleshoot the ignition switch fuse which was the problem. Thank you
At 2:14 I have power at the relay but it is at the opposite side of the contact you describe it to be. I have 12v o the white contact not the red.
outstanding video!
wish I watched this before I went ahead and replaced my starter like an idiot. turns out the wire going to the relay was loose and corroded thru
Great info, very helpful. Thank you

So pulled the starter relay bypass like you showed with a pair of pliers and you could hear a faint click all light thud ?
Hey bro... where can I locate my starter relay in my Ford Everest, 2010 model.
Same year fog lights won't light up any info on that I've try and check everything
So my I have power . But all my starter does is extend but it doesent spin ... what do you think it could be?
