Not specifically a Prime Day deal, but the first generation Force Etap AXS groupset is down to ~$840 these days too. (Including batteries, charger, rotors, shifters, brakes, front and rear derailleur).
I just bought the Garmin Epix 2! $300 off is a steal. I have 20% off with my health insurance but seeing this deal, I couldn't pass it up. Upgrading from the Fenix 3 HR to the Epix 2, I am beyond ecstatic!

Curious what you think about Karoo 2 or 1030 Plus given these prices? Seems like the Karoo 2 is the "better" unit, but I'm drawn/tempted to the Garmin because I do all of my running with an Epix, so use it for health stats/recommendations and it seems useful to also have my cycling in Garmin Connect also. Does that seem worth it, or should I just embrace the second system? USB-C alone is enough to steer me more towards the Karoo (or an 840), but I just picked up the Varia radar taillight that's also Micro USB so I'm stuck with it for that at least anyway. This would be my first cycling computer - currently just using my Epix for everything but would like something more easily glanceable. If it weren't for the sale price on the 1030 plus my internal debate was between the Karoo or paying double that for an 840. I do about 65/35 MTB/road cycling, and don't typically plan routes in advance. I tried a Bolt V2 but none of the MTB trails near me are in the Wahoo maps and the map seemed kind of useless for me without a preprogrammed route so it went back after a couple of days.
I'd say the Karoo 2 is the 'Prettier' unit, but that the Edge 1030 Plus is the 'better' unit in terms of features/battery/compatibility/etc. If you're using it with an Epix, then the decision becomes a no-brainer (whereas if you were on a Suunto watch, I'd lean towards the Karoo 2 due to integration there). I agree that USB-C is deinitely a nice-to-have, but I wouldn't let it force this particular decision.
@@Dcrainmaker Thanks for confirming I’m not crazy for wanting to keep everything in the same place! 😅 The gains (other than USB-C) of an 840 likely aren’t worth the extra $$ over the 1030 plus sale either, right? I love that my Epix can do everything via buttons and have hated my touch only watches, so the 840 is tempting for that capability but the 830/1030 touchscreens don’t seem to have as much rain/sweat related hate as the watch screens do?
Probably a good idea to buy from your local bike shop. Try not to support a company that treats its employees badly and does its best to put small businesses out of business.
