Faster way to pick beans tip 1: pour the beans in a bowl, pour enough water that reaches the tip of the bowl,,,2 things will happen at this point.1. The light dirts of chaff will rise while 2. The stones will sink lower, remove the risen dirts at the top then sink your hand into the bottom of the bowl to find the stones and pick them out. Repeat this step 3 times to entirely remove both stones and light dirt,,this should take you less than 5 minutes to finish up. Fastest method i have been using.
Ms.Kiki your voice is so soothing & sweet, and your bean pottage looks amazing! I just cooked a pot of pinto beans plain, & have an assortment of peppers so im about to try your method w/the ingredients i have on hand, wish me luck! 💜✨
Another tip for heart burn and gas: soak the beans in water and a good amount of baking soda before cooking. Discard the water and wash beans well. The beans will cook way faster + no gas or heart burn. In Mexican culture we also cook the beans with an herb called epazote which helps ❤
niceeeee!!! normally, I boil beans to half done then add oil, seasoning cubes, salt, and pepper to cook together...I find that stressful sometimes because I will have to watch out for consistency and ensure it's cooked properly without being soggy or burnt. I will never go back
Kiki my dear your receipt are top notch. My cooking and flavoring has improved immensely🤣👍🏽Am interested in seeing your local soup series like vegetable soup, Oha soup etc. I truly appreciate the effort into making your tutorial so easy to follow🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️
I made this. Haven't tasted it much bt from having bits and pieces over the cooking period, its solid. The only big difference is i used chicken stock to boil it with a bit of water rather than water. Everything else was the same. Turned out quite well. Thanks for the recipe!
Hi Kiki. Love the recipe. We eat bean stew with white rice. My husbands family with dumplings. We are from the Caribbean. Some people also eat it with yellow cornmeal called functie. It’s like a dance cake but not sweet. Perhaps you know it. Love and blessings🇳🇱🌷❤️😘
Not really. It’s a bit more soupy. We use salted pigtail, Selery, onions, garlic etc. It’s done differently on the different Islands. I was born in Curaçao and at home we had it with white rice. My father was from Surinam. The called it BB and rice (Bron Beans with rice).
Ah kiki, that garri on the beans was the coco for me😂not until i went to boarding school and a senior poured it away that it was unhealthy😢. I nearly beat that yeye girl that year😅
Can I make use of white beans to prepare pottage beans ? Although I never tried cooking before so I normally use UA-cam video to prepare my foods at home since I live alone
Now I have to go and cook beans. I haven't been able to get original Oloyin in almost 10 years. Only in Ibadan was it readily available. Searching for Oloyin beans in Abuja is like searching for the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow 😥 Please if anyone knows where I can buy naturally sweet-like-sugar honey beans in Abuja, epp my ministry. Drop the link/location here 👇🏾 please 🙏🏾

And you never chew stone? 😮
@@joyandpeacefullaughter5307 Never!,, i took out all the stones that were resting at the bottom of the water
This will be more stressful
Thanks for the tip.

Done it before; never ate stone...
Either method of picking it is ok

Adding salt in the beginning makes the beans take forever to get done. I usually add salt/Maggi once the beans is soft

Really? Is your bean stew made similarly?
