I worked at a TV radio repair shop after school. B&W picture tubes would go bad and we'd haul them to the "open" landfill, line em up and shoot em with a 22 rifle. Scavenge all the other tubes and store some for our local ham radio club. It was a long time ago but well after those models you have there. But in an old storage building the owner had lots of relics. Some back to an early tv that he said was around 1939. And many with the tube on top of a chassis box and the picture tube could swivel around and tilt slightly up and down.
Nice find! They still looks good as decoration even if some of them are too damaged and You got a nice case and a lot of quite rare components for are aly good price anyway. I hope You can restore some of them back to life! Where i live almost all from this era went to the landfill when i was a kid, it always makes me sad whan i see people thrtowing out old apparates from this wood and steel era on the landfill, good You could save them!
That TV is not to far gone and the other ones if they are about the same condition as this one all of them can be fixed when I was 13 years old vacuum tube TV's and other things like this is what got me into electronics .
That set you said might be a Crosley or Motorola, if that 320 stamped on the back of the chassis is an EIA code, then it would have been made by Trav-ler which is a possibility.
It will take some work to get any of those to put out a picture. Since no station is broadcasting the older signals. I guess you could hook them up to a VCR or a cable box. Some cable companies will still provide an old signal. You should have offered the seller $10 for all of them.
Well it’s good you keep them out of the dump. Some might be junk but they have extra parts that someone might need. Be good to see a working Crosley out of the two
You are aware that old crts after sitting for decades need to be “woken up” correct? Shango will fill you in. Save the power transformers and stuff to sell on eBay worse case. The tubes were probably yanked when the sets died to be used in other tvs and radios back in the day.
Restoring these TV sets is in no way harder than restoring a 100y old rusty car. Won't even take as much time and money. Spares and tech info are still available from special websites. You will soon learn that a limited range of valve types will cover most of the sets. You can then start out getting most of the sets running, by moving the valves around once one set is running. Good luck and happy fault tracing
With old cars, the car itself and your work will be appreciated. With old TVs or other outdated tech you just get heads shaking and comments like "just throw that stuff away" from most people. And even with those who're interested, if they haven't seen (or heard...) an old TV running for a decade or two (or ever), they will whine about the 15kHz whine, the flickery picture, the low resolution, some kids don't even understand why you voluntarily wanna watch anything that's black&white...
You and Shango are the two best channels in youtube.

It's hard to believe that's how Les Paul got started, taking old tv's and radios apart and converting them to everything from amps to sound boards.
I think Les Paul used old radios because when he started, TV was brand new.
He would use what ever he could get a hold of @@tedrobinson372

The picture tubes are the critical part and while years ago the was almost a shop rebuilding CRTs, there is no facility now.

I had a Silvertone Guitar amp. Had 4 6l6 output tubes and 6 10" Jenson Speakers. I heard they were made by Danelctro for Sears. That thing Rocked!!!
Silvertone TV I seem to recall they also made guitars

Looking forward to the follow up videos.
You'll be waiting a very long time. Uploads from this channel are infrequent.
Currently working on the first video
Subscribed, regular viewer of Shango006 since last 5 years almost, very very similar
When you said you paid $10 each, I thought "wow, what a great deal, the tubes are worth more than that"....but alas, they don't even have tubes lol
I sae your post on the vintage televisions collectors Facebook group and i was hoping to see a video on this!
