Piers I think it's time you visit Israel and Palestinian areas. You will learn a great deal. I believe a lot of the questions you struggle with, you will be able to come to your own conclusion.
Israel doesn’t allow anyone from the outside to go into GAZA they clearly admit this themselves. So, your suggestion would be bias and worthless if people can’t enter direct cities of those being massacred for a fair opinion on the matter on both sides.
No moral quandary for Piers if he visits the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. Instead, he would start asking, " Do you condemn the brutal 75 year military occupation of Palestinian lands."
Or better yet come up with a plan how things are should be done and stop asking childish questions. As they say one fool (and Piers is a fool or pretends to be) may ask so many questions that seven wise men cannot answer.

The VAST majority of all of Mandate Palestine, including Jordan, was owned by the Ottoman State. They leased the land to people who would agree to work the land and if they failed to do so would have the land revoked. That administration transferred to the British and then when the Partition Plan was passed by the FULL UNITED NATIONS, passed to the two new states. Don't forget that about 75% of the land was already transferred to the Hashimites, not the native Arabs. The Hashimites lost western Arabia to the Saudis and the British gave them title to a land they had no connection to. But let's not forget the Arabs, who insisted they were NOT Palestinians, chose war over peace in 1948. Interestingly, the Jordanians captured the West Bank, but they didnt give the "Palestinians" a state now did they? Then again in 1967 they went to war with Israel. The Jordanians only joined the fight when they thought the Arabs were winning and they lost the West Bank, while the Egyptians lost Gaza.
