Yes...you are truly a good welder!!!
This is the bloody loveliest little bunch of cars you've got there! I like all of them!
And i don't usually like cars or care about cars.
Haha thank you :)
Hi tim I use straps like that all the time at work when I load my truck. When you got it right you can roll the remaining strap back towards the wrachet stopping short about 1 foot the tuch that last foot of strap though the center of the roll and loop it over the roll and pull it tight. that how we do it down under. Your pal HelCat in Australia.
Ah interesting... I might have to try that in the future... I just threw the rest in the trunk of the car and closed the lid :)
I like the quick pace of your video.
Hey, I started watching your channel for your mini lathe videos as I too had a mini lathe before upgrading. However, these blog style videos are great and I really enjoyed watching. I think you should do more of this style video too.
I don’t know if I’ll have time to watch Vlogs, but I did find this one interesting. It certainly was eventful. Now I am looking forward to the second part. Good wishes on your car hauling project.
Thanks! I appreciate that :) There will be more project videos too, don't worry.
Awesome video...... Like ur camera angle looks like first person view...
Or kind of game type...
Damn dude, you make some nice looking welds.
That's a really nice looking trailer aside from the tires.
Thanks! Yeah, I spot checked the tires when I got it without weight on it and they looked ok but after pulling a car for a while the age really started to show.
Sounds a big hassle. Hope all is good!
Just got done watching both parts. Looks good! Like the trailer! I’ve got a similar setup but mine is a open deck i put expanded metal on. Keeps it light but i can haul odd stuff still.
My only advice is stop crossing straps. It’s really not the best method. Keep them straight. When you cross straps you run into several problems. First one you noticed off the bat. The straps collide. Not good. Second if you have one strap fail your car will want to pull to the side. Also not good. Third when you cross straps the vehicle has the ability to move forward under hard braking. They effectively “scissor.” Straining the straps and putting unnecessary shock on them. When you go front to back you avoid these issues and if one strap comes undone you retain the full use of the second strap. Safe hauling!
seams like every day for me , way better than being under ground :)
really like the vlog style
That must have been annoying to have constant problems with that trailer, but those tires needed replacing a long time ago. Lots of money just to move some stuff around!
The trailer will be useful in the future... I've been wanting one anyway so I can trailer my car to race events rather than drive it. You're right about the tires, they looked ok before I pulled any weight on them.
Been watching your videos and learning so much. Have a question. How would you make a handle for a very large fishing reel? I don't have a lathe yet and am not at all experienced with them, but need to make a handle for a Penn senator 16/0 and could use some direction. Love the videos and the channel. Thanks in advance.
Seems to have cost quite a bit to move all those vehicles!
I hope you didn't spend more than the cost of the fine!
I'm curious as to why you were under threat of fines when the vehicles were on private land - not something that happens here in the UK.
just because you pay the fine, doesnt mean you are allowed to store the vehicles there
Sharky is right, if I just pay the fine and not do anything I'll just end up with a bigger fine. As for the threat of fines on private land... good question. It was a policy that probably had reasonable intentions initially but now it can be abused for a revenue stream I guess. I've been wanting/needing a car trailer and tires anyway though so it's not necessarily costing me anything more, just costing me right now.
it might be because of the possible danger of water contamination due to the oil, or fire hazzards or something. sure most people will abuse it just to get rid of stuff they dont want to see in their neighbourhood. a bunch of old cars just might not be appealing for others. i wonder if somebody would have fined you if you had the stuff hidden behind a fence of some sort
When it rains it pours bud
video makes me sea sick, just kidding great stuff enjoy the content
Haha sorry, if these are well received and seem like something I'll do more often I'll invest in some better gear. Right now I'm just using my phone. But thanks for watching!
Was it just 2 truck tires, so 6 total, or all 4 on there too for 8 that got replaced? Amazing how when it rains, it can pour.
He needs to get the wheels aligned on the truck, or he'll be buying more tires in a couple of months.
Just the two fronts for the truck. The two truck tires and alignment ended up being cheaper than the 4 trailer tires.
It's a good job you got plenty of cash,,, yeah I like the vlog
Ha, plenty isn't quite the same as enough to cover... but I'm glad you like the vlog :)
Silly question, why didn't you just more the vehicles to the back yard so there out of sight from big bad brother?
You're not allowed to have a vehicle (or trailer) on "unimproved" ground... aka dirt or grass. That'd be another violation. Why they can go in the backyard is another question though.
TimNummy 24" patio stones under the tires should circumvent that wouldn't it?
As long as they are "permanently installed" via cement or something and the top of them are level with the ground AND the tires don't have to cross over unimproved land to reach the driveway... but that still doesn't help the fact that some of them are (legally) unregistered. The only way to have an unregistered vehicle (regardless if the taxes have been paid or not) is by having it in a building/garage.... apparently the inspector/county has the right to go through your backyard, look under your porch, under tarps, etc.
TimNummy damn that's ridiculous! I thought it was bad here in Central California but this is nuts. I had to put my truck in storage because of the city and while it's been there the windows have been broken out of it and someone wrecked into the fender. I'd scrap it if it weren't my grandpa's old truck.
How are you even allowed to drive with these worn out tires? And why do use them anyway? I wouldnt drive one mile with them.
Anyway good video though
you live in the city dont you thats way i love living in the country for no laws to F. things up
What a sucky day...
Rather you than me.
