So I’ve had a positive ana ifa for about 10 years, with a homogeneous pattern + speckled pattern at one time, and then just homogeneous again, with a titer of 1:360. I was put on hydroxycholroquine for about a year which wasn’t helping so I was taken off of the medicine. I started on humira for inflammation of my eye back in June, which humira is totally different from hydroxycholroquine and is said not to be a medication for autoimmune diseases. However, since I’ve been on humira my inflammation markers had gone down, my ana ifa results are now negative for the first time in 10 years. But I’m still having increased joint pain, fatigue, joint swelling, sun sensitivity, headaches, back pain, night sweets, etc. today my rheumatologist told me I have no autoimmune disease since my blood test are all normal now. So my question is, can a person have an autoimmune disease and have a negative ana ifa test result?
