The way you and your husband interact, you both are so blessed to have such a nice relationship! It's unfortunate that our fur babies don't live as long as we human do, but what a joy they bring to our lives.
I was about to come and aay the same thing, but you put is so eloquent.. they’re very sweet together. My little one is about to turn one so time together is limited, I’m a little jealous hahahaha
Your time together will increase again someday, but I do remember those days of limited time together. We have always tried to make our relationship a priority, although it's definitely much easier now than it was when our kids were really young.
Yay you’re feeling better! The sequined Santa sweater is awesome. What a great find as well as the quilt. During vlogmas it would be awesome to see how Brad roast the coffee beans. 😁☕️
We have a Romanian rescue mutt. The veterinarian thought she was about 8 when we adopted her. So she is now about 17. She lived her life in Romania on the streets and is constantly by my side. She has started barking quite a lot but otherwise is in good health but SO stubborn! She has my heart ❤
Hi Amber, glad to see that you’re feeling better. As soon as I saw your Birds and Ships cowl I had to buy it. I have so many single skeins of beautiful yarn and I’m trying desperately to find projects for them. This is definitely a good gift idea and it’s textured enough to keep it interesting. I’m currently working on the Keyhole scarf by Purl Soho with a fingering weight yarn and it’s a slosh. I’m 23” in so far, so not very far to go. If I make this one again I’ll have to hold 2 strands together. Birds and Ships next. All gifts can be given next year and hopefully I’ll be ahead of the game. Best to you and your family. Chris
I’m so going to copy your idea of adding fresh greens to a plastic wreath. I have a nice holly bush in my yard. Thanks for starting the morning off with me.
I really enjoy seeing you and Brad together and discovering your area! My husband was a lineman for Hydro Quebec ( happily retired now ) and he remembers going to Pennsylvania when he was working. Hydro would send out teams to help out when there were serious power outages. He loved the beautiful countryside ❤️
So glad you're feeling better - been praying you would get well quick (Christmas is a busy season, after all!). Your house looks lovely! So warm, inviting, and cosy!
Enjoying your Vlogmas! You and your family make me smile. We also have a 14 year old little dog that has started whining ALL THE TIME. Drives us crazy but we love her so much and know our remaining time with her is short.
Yes it’s sad when our fur babies get old..and often we didn’t know I’d they are in pain ..but they do have a great life being loved by a family!!thanks for sharing!
Enjoy your podcasts! I have a yorkie poo who will be 15 yrs old next March. She too has had numerous vet visits this year. She is almost blind and has trouble hearing but I have not heard a sound from her for over a year. She has lost her bark, not sure why. But, she remains fairly active and still gives plenty of kisses. Good to hear you are feeling better!
This is my first year watching your vlogmas, and I must say it’s already moved up to my favorite to watch. I already enjoy your podcast and now I look forward to these. Praying you are feeling better.
Glad you are feeling better, Amber! Your husband is a hoot! Last night it seemed like a lot of you guys who were doing Vlogmass were making pizza so I had to make some tonight. We live in the middle of nowhere now so I’m learning how to make pretty darn good pizza! Your outside decorations are gorgeous! 🎄🎄🎄
GM Amber You look so much better today a few days you’ll feel great !!! Your house looks so comfy and cozy for Christmas !! You did a beautiful job 🥰 And knits a gorgeous From one Christian to another God Bless and get better soon 😊💝🥰
Yes, I have an old dog who started howling a bunch and walking in circles. I started giving her calming hemp oil a few months ago and have really noticed a difference in her.
Yes my small dog 12+ years whines more and more as he gets older. I think he wants attention and being loved on. Some of it is just reminding me it’s time to eat - he starts about an hour early. Love your Christmas vlogs.❤
So pleased to hear you are feeling a lot better today. I am reading Mathew for the next 20 days. I like the purchases from the Thrift shop. Your husband is like mine always chatting. The weather is crazy 🤪 your side. See ya ❤😊
We had to put our 14 year old dog, Charlie, down just a few days ago. His last year he had been quite whiny and the vet said it could be a number of things .. discomfort from his arthritis, the dementia he was dealing with and going deaf. Whining and being kind of agitated in their old age is common, we were told. We hadn’t realized how many behaviors we had developed over the years that revolved around Charlie and now that he’s gone we’re having to adapt to a new routine. It’s not easy losing them and I’m sorry that you’re facing the same situation.
So glad you’re feeling better! 🎉 I’m very jealous of you and Brad, trying to not wish away this season of littles but I’m 85 at heart so I’m ready for retirement 😂 the town looks adorable, we flew into Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving with my Grammie, she lives in a little town near Alliance, OH so we took all the back roads to get to her and I loved it, I told my husband I wanted to go visit you and Leslie from a friend to knit with 😂 the sad thing is he knows exactly who I’m talking about.
I just found your podcast through Laura Penrose! I am enjoying it so much. I just lost my elderly boy Teddy on August 4th. He was just a few weeks shy of 17. I’m heartbroken. He was a Schipperke. The whining and barking can indicate pain or possible dementia. He was on a lot of medications and it was not going to get better.
Oh wow. He lived a long life! I know that Molly is almost completely deaf and she doesn't see well because of cataracts. It is so sad to see her aging, but we just love on her and keep her warm and comfy as much as we can. Thank you so much for watching!
You do sound better today! Same here...never slept until my kids were home. I remember ordering coffee in a restaurant and asking the waitress to make a fresh pot cuz I didn't want the dregs of an old pot. She looked at me like I had 3 heads! But the coffee actually was not too bad.
I can relate to your comments about the kids growing up and not really spending time with us much anymore. It’s bittersweet, and yes, it definitely gives us space to have more dates with our husbands
Hello! Thank you so much! I don't remember it being hard at all. It's been several years since I knit it, but I usually remember a challenging pattern.
All of your decorations are so pretty and your house is so cozy! Where on earth did you find that cute incense burner?! The ugly Christmas sweaters are absolutely perfect! Glad you are feeling better, and thanks for doing this Vlogmas- it is very enjoyable to watch as I work on my knitting.
My Coco, that I picked up from the Humane Society soon after I got married 14 years ago, is somewhere between 18 and 19 years old (they estimated she was 5 years old when I got her, vet thought she was a bit younger when I took her in at 13years)...She is a small 15 lb terrier mix...Yes, shes gotten pretty whiny as well...Sometimes I can tell what she is asking for and other times I have no clue. I too believe this is our last Christmas with her :( Love our fur babies
The first Knives Out was [mostly] great. The sequel, Glass Onion, was a huge disappointment. You guys are so cute...enjoy your no-kids date days! Hugs to you and your frosty face puppies ❤ My husky is 10 1/2 now, and I can't even think about life without her.
I am sorry your little dog has become whiny. Does the vet think she is in pain? Our dog got more anxious as she got older and was prescribed human Xanax. That helped a lot. She was in pain and took tramadol for that. It was very hard when we put her down. She was 15 1/2 and the very best girl ever. I am liking your holiday music and your sparkly sweater. It has been years since I have lit my little smoking man. Do I still have the incense?
No, the vet hasn't said that she thought that Molly was in pain. I think Molly just wants attention, maybe? I don't think she likes to be alone anymore. If I'm not home, she has come to attach herself to my son, Ian. She'll whine at him until he pays attention to her.
Oh my goodness. Your husband is adorable. He reminds me of a kid I worked with named Jake Deak, from Pennsylvania too! Any relation??? You are all so adorable! God bless!
Yes, I have an almost 16 year old dachshund and is very attached to me. I take him everywhere with me or drop him at my daughters because he is afraid to be alone. I love him 😍. Enjoy your week.

It is beautiful and mountainous here!

I could never go to sleep until my kids were home either. My mother was the same way. Another coffee snob here. I wear it as a badge of honor! 😅

I know it's definitely going to be hard. I talk to both of them all of the time. I'll probably always have a dog for company.
Amen Praise God
Blessings on this podcast...I truly enjoyed
Glad your feeling better. It must be the tea!
Christmas decorating looks fantastic! Loved seeing your day!
Thank you!

That's so funny!

It's a big transition, for sure! I handle it better on some days than others! Lol.
You sound like you’re feeling better! I will admit we are kind of coffee snobs at our house, too. All coffees are not created equal.
My dog is completely taken with your pups! He is watching with me.
Hahaha. That's so cute!
Amber, I’m so glad you like your advent today! My husband made that ornament for you 🤍
I wondered if he had made it!
Love UR house pic in the vlog Pic!,,,,
Glad ur better,,,
You guys😃are better than any hallmark Movie!
Lovely!
Elaine⛄🌨🏡
The cowl is so pretty. How hard of a knit was it? The lace looks so hard but it is stunning.
Hello! Thank you so much! I don't remember it being hard at all. It's been several years since I knit it, but I usually remember a challenging pattern.
You have a beautiful, cozy home!
Thank you! 😊

I have several. My husband has bought them for me over the years at a German Christmas market! I love them! Thank you for watching!
Oh, and you could probably find them online. Just google "German Incense Smoker."
Thank you❤

Oh my goodness! That is amazing that she has lived for that many years!
I have a 13 year old schnauzer and he whines more than he used to and I have a 12 year old schnauzer as well, but he’s the quiet one. 😊
The first Knives Out was [mostly] great. The sequel, Glass Onion, was a huge disappointment. You guys are so cute...enjoy your no-kids date days! Hugs to you and your frosty face puppies ❤ My husky is 10 1/2 now, and I can't even think about life without her.
