When I was 5 my parents took me to the circus and all I could think of was the tent collapsing, the lions getting out or the people falling from the trapeze. Needless to say, I totally relate to your anxiety disorder that I have lived with my entire life. It’s not easy and there’s a great deal of retraining your brain. I’m 75 now and I’m happy to tell you that as you age it dissipates a great deal. I love your gentle, soothing podcasts and I thank you for being real 😍
It's wonderful to hear that it dissipates with age. I can now deal with it in a much healthier way than I did in my twenties and thirties. It's definitely a process!
My husband had sinus problems for years which always ended up being bronchitis until he saw an allergist. He suggested he use a nose wash every day during allergy season or any time he felt like he was starting with a cold. It worked. He hasn’t had any illnesses for years. Hope this helps. ❤
I love the yarns you opened as well as the notion holder and the blue tin. I like the Ambah O'Brian pattern as well as surrey Alpaca yarn and those wonderful skeins of yarn. I said I was going to have a three week break from knitting well it lasted a week I cast on a cowl to match a cap. We have loadshedding at present which means 2hrs 30 min no electricity. The present government neglected to maintain the many power stations. Sometimes there is not enough power to feed the whole grid. It is what it is and as South Africans we have solar hot water use gas and it only hits you when fans and aircons don't work. Many people are off the grid for their Power needs ❤😊
I love that tea as well. Since Stash is an Oregon company we are not that far away in WA. In my experience this is only available in our grocery stores around Christmas. Sometimes it is only on a special cardboard display and I have to search the Fred Meyer store for it (a Kroger co). I am aware one can order it directly from the company too.
Thanks for the episode. Thanks for sharing about anxiety. So terrible to be woken up in the night. You are right about retraining your brain. The darker lines on your mug from your son look like knitting needles somewhat. Thanks for the tea recommendation. I have not tried that one.
You're the second UA-cam creator in about a week that has mentioned Tulsi Hibiscus tea (Anja from OpheliaTalks recommended it also) I have an insulated coffee container from Keurig that keeps my cofee hot for hours, so when you mentioned yours recently I started using it this morning. I also have one from a tea company that has a loose leaf tea strainer included that s very effective too. Thanks for the reminder.
Stash Christmas Eve tea has been a favorite of mine for years. We can get it here in Southern Ontario but I purchased a bulk box9100 bags) off of Amazon last year. I do believe they have the other flavors as well.
I can so relate to those lousy feelings. I've learned (and it sounds like you've learned as well) that we just gotta focus on what and Who we know is true.
Hi Amber. I am watching you after Christmas as it was a little crazy during..... My daughter is called Tulsi..in fact if you could get hold of the plant it good to havethe fresh leaves ias tea.
I do hope you are feeling better soon! I totally understand the anxiety that comes with illness. I went through 18 months of post-viral fatigue and now I also get very nervous every time I get a virus…what if it affects me like that again? It was such an awful time. But unfortunately I think the anxiety also feeds it, so, like you, I try to stay positive when I get ill (and give myself permission to rest and knit a lot 😊).
Yes! The anxiety feeds it for sure!!!!! Anxiety can cause so many physical symptoms that it can even be hard to sort through what is the illness and what is from the anxiety!
Hope that you feel better soon!❤ I am on day 6 now of being sick with Covid and it is awful being sick, especially around the holidays but like you said just staying positive and retraining our brains is a big help! Also, I noticed your ginger tea in one of your earlier videos and made some both yesterday and today and it is really a miracle tea!❤ Thank you! Your videos are just so lovely and calming and I’m so grateful.
Hello there! I'm sorry that you are feeling poorly too, but I am so glad to hear that the lemon/ginger tea has been helpful. Thank you so much for watching. :)
Thankyou Amber, I love all your amazing Christmas ornaments etc. Thankyou also for being open about the anxiety you suffer from. This has happened to me too, and to a lot of other knitters, perhaps knitting is our “medicine”. It’s very cold here in the north east of Scotland and the roads and pavements are lethal with black ice, I may not go out today!
Thank you for sharing, Amber. I just want to say I see you, I hear you, and I feel you. ❤xo Really enjoying your vlogmas this year. Your front door looks lovely 😍
Hi Amber! I'm glad you're starting to feel better. I can definitely relate to the anxiety! I have anxiety issues as well, including health anxiety... Not fun... I too love that Christmas in Paris tea! I got some last year on your recommendation and its become my favorite tea for this time of year. I just get mine on Amazon. And in fact, just got another box of it this morning! I had to smile because I'm also wearing my Campside shawl as I'm watching you wearing yours. Its my favorite shawl! Can't wait to see how your Eurphorbia shawl comes together!
Hi Holly! I specifically struggle the most with health anxiety. I keep it pretty much managed, but anytime I'm sick for a prolonged period of time, it flares up for sure, which is what's been going on the last several days. Not fun at all! Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate it!
Hope you keep feeling better. I had downloaded the Ambah O’Brien shawl to use with my DK advent. I was glad to see a use for it that was not overly complicated yet very pretty.
Amber, thank you for sharing with us this morning. I know your faith will get you through any storm. I would be very interested in hearing about the new ministry you are co-starting as we are always looking for new ideas in our small rural church in PA. God Bless You!
Thanks for being honest about your anxiety. I've suffered from it too. Used to walk the dog miles to help it. He loved that. My faith helped me through it. Hope you're feeling better. ❤
Amber ,,Glad ur feeling better,,, I have down with a cold,,like you ,,hate being sick,,,, and have asthma,,,, Resting today,,, and tested for covid,,,it was negative,,,,Will test again later,,,, Enjoying UR vlogs,,,, Elaine 🏘🏡🎄
Oof the health anxiety section hit me hard! So glad I’m not alone. I have Crohn’s and a double upper respiratory infection this summer sent me into a mini flair. I have a cold rn and trying to stay calm ahahaha knitting helps a lot and having plans keeps me excited. Thanks for sharing!
I vote for the mohair. The suri may be too thick, and could overwhelm the beautiful color reverse fade. Glad that you're feeling better! Praying that you stay well.
Hope you feel better! I always really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your experience. For the past year, I’ve been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks, and always appreciate hearing others opinions and experiences it helps ❤
Hope and pray you feel better quickly! I am fighting a virus! I am sad also because I am missing a lot of meetings and celebrations! The stash tea sounds delicious.
I just bought the tea on amazon. It is expensive and I had to search. I love the flavor. Hope you feel better soon😊🌲I love watching you and your family. You always bring a smile to my day🙏
Thank you Amber- I am enjoying your Vlogmas episodes very much! Please take care of yourself- sounds like you are doing that! I was able to order a German incense Santa online. Thanks for the info!
Hi Mary. I just keep them both in a dresser drawer in my living room. I keep other things in that drawer as well such as some candles and extra picture frames.
Thank you.....i need to find something to keep the in. We are planning on moving in spring so maybe I'll get a little more organized by then...LOL thank you for your podcasts@@alovelyyarn
Hope you feel better. Is that Suri alpaca fingering weight? I’ve had a hard time finding fingering weight alpaca. I’d love to know where you got it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for a beautiful episode, and thank you for sharing life ❤️🙏
I did an advent swap with a lovely lady in Poland. I’m making the Daft Days cardigan using my minis in the order I open them.
I've not heard of that cardigan!
It is by Rebecca Clow on Ravelry

Oh, you are definitely not alone. My main struggle with anxiety is specifically health anxiety. It can be very debilitating and overwhelming at times.
I vote for the mohair. The suri may be too thick, and could overwhelm the beautiful color reverse fade. Glad that you're feeling better! Praying that you stay well.
Thank you! You made me rethink my decision. I ended up winding up the mohair and am going with that. Thanks for that recommendation!
So glad you are feeling better!! I can’t wait to see the wrap! ❤ what is the daily devotional advent called that you are reading?
It is the 2023 Advent devotional from The Daily Grace Co. :)

I agree that knowing you aren't alone helps immensely! When you're in the midst of it, you feel very isolated.

Hello! This is the Campside Shawl by Alicia Plummer.
HI how do you store your ball winder and swift? does anyone have a suggestion? I can't find a container that will work and fit them? Thank you

Have you ever read Norman Vincent Peale book:
The Power of Positive Thinking😃. It is one of
my favorite books👍🎄
I have read many books on the power of our thinking, but I've not read that one. I will check it out! Thanks!
Hope you feel better. Is that Suri alpaca fingering weight? I’ve had a hard time finding fingering weight alpaca. I’d love to know where you got it. Thanks for sharing.
Hello. No, I would say that the suri is more of a sport or dk weight only because it is so fuzzy!
Hope you feel better soon . What shawl are you wearing
