Ewg ned 1/10th or 1/6th seem to work well for me in the rivers here in Ohio. My most successful bait was the 3inch Berkley pittboss for smallies and large mouths last year.

@Valley Adventures And the spinner-jig is very much like a Blakemore RoadRunner, among others. In my mind, there comes a point where the Ned Rig isn't a Ned Rig any more, and I thought that both of these went past that point. Probably great baits, but...

So hard for me to not put Ned rig down when out fishing. I bring so much tackle with me and most of the time just stick with Ned rig as it is so effective.

Couldn't finish what I was saying yesterday, I was busy at work and got bomb barded. Anyway..... I've used the ZMan spinz a couple of times. No big deal so far though. Now as for that last technique,.... I'm already using an EWG hook in a similar fashion and bobber stopper on a 1/8oz tungsten weight. The TRD finesse worm is my choice as well but I use it for dock fishing and the docks have deep water below them.

Thanks for the great options....I split-shot my ned worm (z-man TRD) 100% of the time. 12lb. flourocarbon with Water Gremlin Bull Shot Bullet Split Shots and grip pin hook. The weight being away from the worm allows the worm to dart around more. I put the weight about 12-14 inches above the worm.

After I thought about what you chose to use on your Ned Dred,...... I gave it a huge consideration. I think you might have something going with this idea. I've been looking for the right size bait for the Ned Dred. Something in the 2.4 to 3.0 is the range I've found that work the best. I'm a huge 6th Sense fisherman also!! Screwlock set ups are what I dig!! I have thrown a big TRD on the Ned Dred later fall & it does work. But I'm waiting for March and go after big ones I've been watching for months. This year I'm catching 2 of em no doubt

Thank you for all the great information and fun in your channel. No offense intended, but while these are fine looking baits, I think classifying some of them as "Ned Rig" baits is wrong. Ned Rig is divine in its simplicity: skirts, blades, etc. may catch fish, but in my opinion adding them turns that jig / plastic into something other than a Ned Rig. In fact, sticking that spinner blade into the tail would probably make the plastic topple over when the jig is at rest...at rest is when the Ned Rig is often at its best. I may be wrong on this one, as I have not tested it; I hope my point is made. Also, I think that when you start throwing 1/4 oz heads, you're no longer using a Ned Rig. It's a finesse technique; 1/4 oz is outside my definition of "finesse". Ned Kehde lists three jig head sizes in his video, with the largest being 3/32. Thank you again for a great channel; I hope you give some thought to changing the title of this video.
