Using fine wire EWG hook with FREE RIG style accomplishes the same thing for me, w/ additional benefit of floating worm that falls slightly slower or lagging behind the quicker falling sinker -for those who don't want a rapid decent. Thanks for this video!
I definitely want to put more time in with the free rig. I have concerns over how well it will work in current which is where i usually fish a Ned. For lakes I love the thought of a slow falling bait at certain times of year
Man I love the ned rig. It's catches all sizes and types of bass. So many different options of baits with great presentations. Keep up the great work. I had to come back and say the owner ewg ned hooks are my favorite
Great video. I especially appreciate the zoomed in view when your rigging it, even though I know how to. This great view would be especially good if you were teaching how to tie a certain knot etc. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for all your helpful hints. I'm definitely gonna try those Owner offset EWG jig heads with the 30° angle eye! Are they thin wire or pretty much standard gauge ???
This was a good video. Owner is my favorite hook brand but I haven’t tried the jigheads… yet Do you put super glue on the offset jigheads with Z man plastics?
Depends on the hook style. If the jig head has a lock or really good bend I do not use super glue. All other times yes, as long as I remember to bring it! 😵🤣
Good job. I use every hook you showed in this video, all have a time and place. Something I've been trying to find for a long time is an article or video showcasing the various brands that make elastomer style baits. It seems like that every year there are 2 or 3 additions, it would be nice if someone could lay them all out and show us all who has what now... just a thought...
Your so right. The industry keeps pumping out new terminal. I really like the rhino head by Picasso now. Lol. Seems like an updated vid is a great idea. Thanks for tuning in
If I thought it would lead to more bites, absolutely! I feel that smallmouth have more of a reaction to scented baits than largemouth. So if your smallmouth fishing and the bite is tough then definitely try a scented bait
The Owner ballhead jig is terrible on rip rap, or any type of rock for that matter, the position of the line eye is such that it’s basically the contact point for the rocks (the bottom), a 90 degree line tie keeps your line off the bottom which doesn’t allow the rocks to fray the line
Thanks for tuning in Barry. The Rivers that I throw these in have mostly smooth edged rock. I don’t get hung up nearly as much with the round ball head shape. Maybe it’s the shape of the lead and not the line tie.
Best video on weedless ned rig
Thanks so much Bill. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Very good
Thank you for watching

I subscribed because of this video. It has helped me understand everything I was doing wrong with a Ned rig. Thank you kindly Sir.
Hey Josh. Thanks man. I really appreciate that feedback. Hope your fishing and catching. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Thanks for the tips
Netherlands 👍🏼
Thanks you for watching 🤚🏼
Thank you for this thoroughly informative demonstration of the various weedless rigs. And thanks for the links!
My pleasure Jim. Thanks for watching and commenting. It’s good to have you here.

Thanks for watching and supporting the channel Will 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Good stuff GT.
Drop of super glue really makes those small rigs last thru a lot of fish catches..👍
David my man. You are spot on with that super glue.

Thank you for tuning out n and watching the video
I like those Bullet headz for the Trd crawz.
I can imagine they slip in and out of brush very well.
Good stuff.
Thank you very much
Great info. I will try the ewg jig heads.
Thank you for watching!!

Hey William. Thanks for tuning in. I typically use the 2/0 size and I would say they are light wire
I liked how you presented this information, i.e. showed a lot of close-ups and used your hand as a back-drop. Volume was fine in my opinion.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it
Love me a Ned Rig!
I’m with ya. Sometimes that’s all they eat 🤣

Throw a 4" screw in the top hinge of that door and fix that reveal for all the carpenters in the audience 😅

The shape of the hook makes all the difference
Lord knows you need a good hook with smallies and spots
Decoy Nail Bomb is great also
Very informative, question would you scent a need rig?

Thank you for tuning in. I really appreciate it
Loop knot those neds, it will always land tail up!
Flatlands custom and Buckeye are my favorite two. Check them out.
Thanks for watching. I will
Zman plastic is super soft and therefore not very weedless even on EWG.
None of these are completely snag free!!! Yep, I know!! Lol. Good video brother.
Thanks Pete
What size hook for standard Ned rig?
Personally I like a #1 or 1/0 with 3” baits
I like a 2/0 or 3/0 with 4” baits
Presentation and location land more bug fush!
Thanks for watching

You're putting the salt down as in "belly" ? I rig it the opposite
I don’t understand the question??
@@HookLife The one side of the bait. It has a salt side.
@@irench which bait are you referring to?
Loop knot those neds
Hmm never hear that before. What’s the reason behind the loop knot?
@@HookLife The plastic will ALWAYS standup and the action isnt inhibited by the line.
@fishntools interesting
@fishntools that’s a damn good hack to know. I can see that being useful when I want the Ned to stand up for sure
You need more volume.
Gord are you talking about the audio of the video? I just played it back and I can hear it just fine.
