Some even claim life would be boring if not for suffering and include horror movies, tragedy literature and violent computer games that entertain us as examples. These beliefs and teachings are likely rooted in the Buddhist adage, "life is suffering." It's heresy to deny this given that Buddhist teachings and leaders are so revered. Today it almost seems like a form of propaganda to get the masses to acquiesce to all the harm and destruction being inflicted on humanity worldwide for the sake of a new world order - to think of it is a good thing even. Parents beat or in other ways inflict suffering on their children to teach them a lesson. People who commit terrible crimes often claim they're teaching their victims a lesson in order to justify their actions. Killers inflicting suffering on nationwide scales claim it will lead to a greater good for the nation, or all of humanity even. It won't, it never has. A woman I met who had lost a child to cancer said, there's nothing good in that. She was right. The list of examples of how suffering supposedly leads to a greater good is endless. I'm not suggesting one shouldn't look for learning and self improvement when suffering, just that it isn't necessary. It's tragic actually. I believe it is the singular reason for all the suffering in this particular material state on Earth.
