As a patriotic American, I abhor "the nanny state" that makes things illegal "for our own good." If I want to put a child in a baby walker, that is my choice with no government intervention.
If a person wants to ride a motorcycle without wearing a helmet it should be a personal choice. [Fair disclosure: I would never own a motorcycle nor ride one in traffic] Government efforts to outlaw stupid is a fool's errand. It is as ridiculous as creating a law against suicide.

people said the same thing about seatbelts and raising the smoking age. the problem is we live in a civilization where your personal decisions DO affect everyone else. if you smoke your whole life, you may end up on a ventilator that now wont be available for someone who got covid, someone who may have gotten covid because it was spread by someone who did not wear a mask when mandated. unless you live completely off the grid, almost everything you do effects someone else.

Yes and no. If you're gonna do something that might endanger the life of your child because you lack the intelligence to understand it's dangerous, then someone needs to protect the child from you. It's kind of like how liberals complain that DCS doesn't always do enough to protect children from unfit parents, but they also complain when DCS removes a child from their mother even if she's unfit.

On light bulbs. Look up the Centennial Light (the 100 year old light bulb), an incandescent light bulb that has been working/shining at a California fire department since 1901.. Things used to be built to last. Now they're built, designed and engineered to last about the same amount of time as the warranty they put on them.

I think the quality of the LED bulbs that are made in some countries are about the same quality as the incandescent bulbs. Before I buy any LED bulbs I usually check to see what country they’re made in first because some manufacturers in some countries don’t care too much about quality of their products. A lot of LED bulbs I’ve bought have lasted a very long time like years.

    Howdy from Texas.
Regarding plastic shopping bags. They are without question an absolute blite on our ecosystems here in the states. And there are cities like Austin Texas who have forced all the grocery stores to not offer disposable plastic bags anymore. And they too sell the cloth bags or the fiber bags you spoke of. A friend of my wife's actually makes reusable and very durable shipping bags with the disposable plastic bags. She turns the disposable plastic bags into plastic yarn somehow and then simply knits the more durable shipping bags with her plastic yarn.. and you can't really tell that these bags are made from other plastic bags at all. My wife just handed one to me that her friend had gifted her and she had to explain to me what I was holding.
I was properly impressed. And we used that bag for years afterwards for everything from groceries to beach towels and bottles of sun block, and everything else you might take to a beach that can fit in a bag. We were both very disappointed when we misplaced it during a move and we never found it again. But that was ironically the best reusable shopping bag we ever had.
I've since seen some videos on UA-cam showing how to make the plastic yarn from those bags. But I have never to the had the patience to do it myself. And I don't know how to knit or crochet.
And speaking as a retired Chef and Chef Instructor I'd like to tell you. As far as BBQ sauce goes. It's pretty easy to make your own and eventually come up with your own signature recipe to WOW your friends and family with.
It's simple. Using either ketchup or a good tomato sauce. Add the following ingredients in whatever amounts suit your tastes. And remember. Always taste your sauce with every Three or so ingredients you and so that you can more easily adjust the amount of your ingredients and what tastes best for you.
Ketchup, ( or tomato sauce )
Brown sugar ( white sugar will work too but it's depth of flavor won't be as enriching to the sauce.)
Apple cider vinegar ( or regular vinegar)
Smoked paprika ( or regular paprika,)
    Onion powder
    Garlic powder
Liquid smoke ( if you have it there. Again just for a little more depth. )
A good Chilli Crisp oil. ( If you enjoy a little heat. You can also substitute a chilli garlic paste if you need to. Or leave it out altogether if you like. )
And the secret ingredient to really take it to the next level. Just a small amount of instant coffee.
You can also use instant coffee in your pinto beans as well as this BBQ sauce. BBQ beans are a staple here in Texas.
A little water if you want to thin it out a little.
    .
Combine all these ingredients in a bowel stirring well to make sure everything is incorporated well. And then place it on low to medium low heat on the stove and stir until it just starts to simmer. There is no need to boil it because there are no raw ingredients in it. So all your trying to do by heating it is to make sure that sugar melts into the sauce and those herbs and spices blend seamlessly together. Once it starts to simmer give it a good stir and take it off the heat to cool.
Of course you don't have to wait for the BBQ sauce to cool if you intend to put it on whatever meats you are cooking. My only caveat is, don't put any sauce on your meat until right at the last ten to fifteen minutes. Otherwise it's going to burn and not taste great. Otherwise just let it cool and pour it into either an empty bottle or into a sealable container of some kind to either serve it to your family and or guests. And it you've made too much. It should last a week or two in your refrigerator as long as its sealed properly. Enjoy.

Every bag with no holes we reuse to clean the litter boxes. The ones with small holes we use in small trash cans except the bathroom ones we find bags without holes for that. The ones with holes we take back to the store for recycling. That’s why in areas this is banned the sales of trash bags go up. People have to get the bags somewhere! So it’s quite useless to ban free ones.

"Hey" from Florida USA. Enjoy ya videos.
I have LED bulbs I installed in my house in 2012, now twelve years old, that have never blown out. The have just begun their 13th year and if they operate within the manufacturers expected lifespan they should last between 10 and 12 years.
The initial cost of LED is 3-4 times more than an older style incandescent light bulbs, but the lifetime of the product surpasses that additional cost over time and produces significantly better lighted conditions. Dunno if a difference in reliability exists cause of European electrical systems or not, but in here in the USA where the electricity is 110VAC/60hz they are highly reliable. A typical 60watt bulb here in the USA only consumes 5W of electricity so ya not only achieve a longer lifespan, but a reduction in electrical consumption. Dunno bout your home, but typically European electrical systems are 220VAC/50hz, not compatible with the USA standard, so perhaps that has something to do with ya poor luck with LED bulbs ? Just guessing . . . .
    Have fun and be safe.

Back in the '60s, when I was in high school, I had orthodontic work done, and one of the first steps was to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. So, although the memory is vague, I know what you're experiencing.
I have a local silly story about baby names. One lady with kids in the school system had twin boys, but still didn't have names for them. Then, the food lady came in, and asked her what she'd like that evening for dessert, lemon jello or orange jello. Amazingly, she decided right then and there: the boys would be named lemonjello and oranjello (leh-MAHN-gel-oh and or-ON-gel-oh). Another saw the word 'urine', and thought that, with a move of the accent, it would make a nice girl's name: yer-EEN. Also, if you get NBA basketball games over in Slovakia, you may have noticed that some of them have some strange names.
I've heard Iceland is even more restrictive on the available names.
Try calling catsup "cat soup", and it may cut down on his use of it.😀
Turning right on a red light is only available where there's a sign saying you may do it.

Many grocery stores here have a recycle bin for a bagful of plastic bags.

As I was telling y'all earlier I'm a military veteran so I'll learn about a lot of this stuff from researching it The preservatives that they're putting in our food or actually illegal in other countries and I know that's not the only thing that makes it bad because there's a lot of things in other countries that are ridiculous that are outlawed but right now the cancer rate of people 45 years and younger is up 40%, we have more people with cancer than I've ever seen in my life and I'm 47 they are literally killing us slowly they would recently took deodorant off the shelf because they were putting aluminum metal basically in the antiperspirant they were putting a spare time in soft drinks that new it calls cancer they are literally trying to do what the rich people of the world who really run the world they want to be populate the Earth That's why they're pushing this climate change when you look at it all together it makes sense when you start to put the puzzle pieces together they climate change allows for more control over in laws of the world duh the bad food and the covid and stuff helps lower the population The Bible talks literally about all this in New testament Jesus warned this he said there will be a New world order there would be a cashless society where you have to take a mark in order to buy or sell how amazing is that literally we have Bitcoin coming up and they're trying to push cashless society in America but what they don't realize is that we have a lot of good old boys from the south where I live down in South Carolina and also military veteran from all across the country we have 80 million Americans or more that have weapons guns that's why it constitution the number two thing was the right to bear arms That's why we haven't had a dictator yet but we're getting close

Even just the idea of the government being able to tell you what you can and can't name your own flesh and blood child is SO wild to Americans! I literally know someone who changed his name to "pro life" during the last election cycle, he's a little out there but it's allowed 🤷😂

I HATE the new light bulbs, they are horrible! I prefer the old fashioned incandescent light bulbs, they are much brighter than the new ones and the last longer! But to tell you the truth, I HATE PLASTIC BAGS! I PREFER PAPER BAGS! Paper is a renewable source, is biodegradable, and PLASTIC DOES NOT BREAK DOWN and it is not good for anything else.
I reuse my plastic grocery bags. I use them to line my small trash cans. I have a mini van, so I use each handle of the bag to run the arm rest of driver & passenger seat through the handles so the bag will hang between the two seats. I use the bag for trash. Then you can just remove the handles off the arm rests, tie the handles together, & throw the bag in the big dumpster. I also use them for packing snacks in when going on road trips. I hang the bag between the two front seats and it is easy for everyone in the car to access to get their favorite snack.
I do have to say something about the baby walkers. Too many people would use them for babysitters and leave their babies in them all the time. I had a walker for each of my 4 kids and none of them ever had an injury or accident in one. I would put them in it or the playpen when I was going to clean, but I wanted them where I could watch them, but not get in the way. The walker was mainly used for the babies to exercise their legs and learn how to use their legs to move in the direction they wanted to go, not to live in them all day.

LED bulbs have a ballast just like flourescent bulbs. The emitter may last for many years but the ballast fails and the bulbs don't last any longer than incandescents.

You're right I wouldn't believe it either because I'm telling you I'm American a military veteran and I always try to want people about stuff I know The light bulb thing what they don't realize is that they're more expensive and some people live paycheck to paycheck and can't afford those newer type light bulbs so basically America has becoming a place that is making things more expensive for the middle and lower class it's happening at a crazy rate our meats are skyrocketed pricing is high er than it's ever been in a lot of areas but the light bulb thing is a load of crap Yes they do last longer but you pay 10 times the price and a person should be able to buy a $0.50 light bulb if they can because not all people can afford these new light bulbs but they don't care because what people got to understand at end of the day is the 1% elitist that control this world the United Nations and NATO are basically who run this world and America Kamala Harris is trying to basically destroy America so we have to be a part of that group and it's going to happen go read the Bible

Many want the turn on red banned in America. Many people crossing the street get hit by cars who dont look to see if anyone is crossing the road, you can only turn on red if the traffic is clear but drivers dont look for pedestrians

The law is not "turn right on red". It is "stop-turn right on red". Most people don't add the stop when they talk about it. P.S. It should be illegal to put catsup on any kind of hotdog or sausage.

@@marydavis5234 I don't think I said "All" anywhere in my post. I said the Walmart's here do. But to be fair, the plastic does feel thicker and heavier than the thin plastic they used to use. So, it is different, just not convinced it degrades nearly as quickly as a paper bag left out in the weather.

Big corporations are sometimes able to ask for (and typically get) an exempt from state law or city/town ordinances that ban plastic bags. My local Lowe's was able to get an exempt to keep using plastic bags despite the city ordinance.
