Excellent analysis as always, thanks Alt. I wonder if that tactical genius Wayne Rooney will have any answers to this Sunderland footballing juggernaut.
Hey, good to see you here again. The one thing I think we can depend on with Rooney is that his team will have a go (when perhaps they shouldn't), so we will get plenty of chances.
Ahhhh the secret is out now sadly. He's developing so fast he'll go to a huge club inside two years. Good luck to him, I'm just pleased he's going not going to go the Mags, he's gonna go to a top team.
Excellent as always mate - great analysis on our first goal. I wrote back in June how much RLB loves to create wide overloads and that was a perfect example of it - loving seeing it come to fruition
Yes, I saw it too when we appointed him and stuck it in my RLB vid. Went and looked at his Lorient play and he's replicating the same thing here...largely. Your writing is getting noticed more and more. Keep it up, we all notice. Thanks for taking the time to drop a comment here as well. Kind of you. Surely we dismiss Plymouth next week to stay top?
TYVM Jesse. My goal is to try to show how some things work and most of all for it to be enjoyable, so it's good to hear that. I hope it gives you a better idea of opposing gameplans in watching and knowing what or when a change might be needed. The test for RLB will be when some of the better teams in the division figure out how to play against us. Or just sit in for the draw. Fingers crossed we can go five and zero against the Pilgrims today.
Oh wow that's great to hear. Thank you for that feedback. I hope to show that and make it entertaining as well. Can we make it five in a row today though?
I am hopeful that I will have many entertaining performances to work with this season. Fingers crossed. Thanks for taking the time to drop a message, good to see you back in the comments.
Very kind of you to say that. Pretty sure the club will have better ones than me, but I will accept that there's no other club that has this level of fan made content.
TYVM, it is good to know I'm hitting the right notes for people. Always suspected that fans were patronised in commentary and analysis and hoped to offer something more. Seems plenty agree.
Thank you for all your hard work you put into the match analysis Alt. Five in a row after Plymouth ? What a start, what a team ! What if I’m dreaming it all…..? 😅
Another brilliant video, I love how you even pick up on the little things like the Cirkin pulling out of the box on a corner, not an easy spot that but a great sign of the level of detail we’re putting into set pieces
Hello there, I hope you saw your shout out for the donation last time? Yep the Cirkin corner just made their defenders panic...RLB thinks of it all at the minute. Great start to the season.
@@altending I did thanks for that. Really appreciated that, nice touch. Yeah he’s picking up on every little tactical thing we can do. Very impressed with RLB. May the good times continue, and same with these videos (especially reviewing all these wins)
It's a pleasure to make them, especially when fans take the time to let me know they enjoy them. Feet up and smile over there, we've got a good team and a better manager.
Brilliant video once more. After watching this (first time) a suggested video was one uploaded by FourFourTwo called "Why Lee Carsley’s England Should Excite You" in which the host told us about the new/temporary manager (Carsley) coming from youth development where he fostered a ideology of youthful energy, fluid movement and attacking football and how it has been developed over numerous years under the auspicious title "England DNA" which is explained more 11 minutes into the video. So basically they (England) have spent 10 years doing the same as Sunderland have in the last couple and more so that Le Bris has instilled in a couple of weeks. Sadly, the video must have been recorded and uploaded before the ROI v England game as I was sat here bored to tears for most of the game. Even Big Bad Alan Browne coming on as a late sub failed to excite my juices and I just craved to be watching my... our Sunderland instead. (I rewatched a dozen extended highlights and all your analysis videos for this season so far this morning as an antidote and I feel better now). It is thanks to to the deep dive tactical videos that you produce that speak to less technical people like me. Yours are absolutely the best around. Fingers crossed for many more performances of the recent level and look forward to your breakdowns as they come out.
You're made of sterner stuff than me...I have no real interest in the National Team. It's all about Sunderland for me. Glad you liked the vid, I'm hopeful that this season won't tail off like last one did. Fingers crossed for today.
TY Lonz...they same one as on RTG? In any case, I'm pleased that I can still justify your subscription over a year after you joined. Back end of last season was tough, but this is a great moment.
Hey thanks for this. Very kind of you. Good to know I'm justifying the sub...you've been following for over a year now. Thanks for the support. Fingers crossed for today
More excellent work, from you as well as the team. Can anyone name another side with as good a pair of 17 and 18 year-olds in central midfield? And you're right to highlight Roberts, he may not score many or even provide the direct assist, but he's instrumental in a lot of our most dangerous moves. Loving what Le Bris is doing with these kids, I am struggling to remember a Sunderland side that was this well organised.
It's great to see. the contrast with what Dodds served up is staggering. All the complaints I had in my off season 'To Do' video have been targeted. The weekly variation on corners that left Pompey confused today is just a small example of the detail RLB has us working in now. A long way to go yet, but it looks possible when last year it didn't.
A few of us look forward to these videos! Thanks for making them. What are the key differences between how RLB has got us playing as against the way he had Lorient set up?
Thanks for that. It seems word is spreading on the vids. As for the differences, not too much. Have you seen my 'All About Le Bris' video? It breaks down how he played there and it's pretty similar to what he's doing now. Certainly his tactics in his first season in Lorient are almost identical to now at Sunderland. He lacks a dynamic #10 and an out and out striker at Sunderland so the play is a little more progressive through the midfield on the floor, but that's about it. The key will be how RLB adapts to teams nullifying Sunderland. Let's see.
I think that goal we conceded is avoided if Ballard isn't drawn out wide and Hume had to cover, I think Ballard behind him will shout out the danger nothing against Hume covering but again great video great result hopefully we keep this going
That is an excellent point, I'll keep an eye on that. It's Browne closest to him and I agree; Ballard would definitely have given LON the 'all clear' as an experienced centre half.
@@altending yeah it's a nit pick but I would say RLB would pick up on that we have played well and one mistake won't ruin a season but it could lose a game. Keep up the great work
Great work, thanks! I wonder how Regis will solve low blocks when teams will start to park the bus on us instead. I think neither Plymouth nor Boro will do that though.
Yes and there will be teams that are more skilful and will evade our press and can switch play against our wing overloads. Many a twist to come yet I suspect and success will be dictated by Le Bris ability to adapt, but the organisation and anticipation on corners exampled here shows the detail he's working in. ITHICS
One thing I noticed about our pressing which you didn't quite pick up on (@2:40 in the video) was that we are using pressing triangles all over the pitch. There is always one person initiating the press, and then instantly 2 others follow. The ball moves on, and then the other 'point' of the triangle moves to pressure and then another 2 players are triggered into pressing as well. The players are playing very cleverly by doing this and I don't think I've ever seen an safc team do this so effectively and so consistently either. I had grave doubts about Regis when we signed him, but week by week I'm getting proved wrong. Long may it continue, however his L'Orient side started strongly in his first season in charge and then faded badly in the second half of that season but fingers crossed he's learned from that and is able to arrest a slide when it inevitably happens
Yes, I saw that, I think what you see there are circles with either Jobe or Browne inside them (depending on the side of the pitch). I'm going to talk about this is a future review, I just need to examine it a little more. It seems to be a very effective def4ensive structure in the mid-block
Great analysis as per, was interested that le bris said in his interview that we changed some 'details' at HT to make us more effective, do you think that was mainly just a higher energy in the press or did you notice any more subtle tactical changes?
Thanks for the positive comments. First half we were wary of the long ball from Pompey, too much and a little too passive. Second half we were more aggressive winning the ball back. More tackles and we played higher and retained possession more. We had more shots, more dribbles, more possession. It was just better, higher and more patient pressure with the ball.
A defending player who leaves the field of play without the referee's permission shall be considered to be on the goal line or touchline for the purposes of offside until the next stoppage in play or until the defending team has played the ball towards the halfway line and it is outside its penalty area.
No, I wondered that too, but in fact any defending player off the pitch is considered to be on the goal line for the purposes of offside, so he's fine and the goal is rightly awarded. We are mint at the minute aren't we? and getting the rub of the green.
Good to have you back 👏👏👏👏 Can't wait to have this international nonsense out the way so we can focus on what really matters - The red and white ❤❤🤍🤍❤❤🤍🤍
