I just got a Shiba Inu puppy two months ago, and I've been watching your videos since last year to prepare. People kept telling me that Shibas are "difficult to train" but I've been following everything I've learned from your videos, and he is the most well behaved puppy I have ever had! Thank you so much for this content!
Tbh I feel like people who say they are stubborn are those not training.. I have a pom that doesnt bark and walks nicely on a leash! (Love shibas tho I wanna get one one day)
I used to have a Shikoku Ken (Japanese, beautiful breed), may he rest in peace. People used to tell me the same, but he was so gentle and well-behaved. I miss him so much 😭❤
Every time someone compliments me on my dog or says they're thinking about getting a dog or we're just talking in general about dog training I ALWAYS recommend your videos!! My golden is a perfect dog and it's all thanks to your videos!!!
This is super helpful; I'm picking up my pup in just 5 days now and I've been binge watching your channel for about a month now!! Thank you for making all these videos free! I can't wait to read your second book too.
There are many components to house training a dog. One place I found which succeeds in merging these is the Bevs Booster Guide (google it if you're interested) it's the no.1 blueprint that I have ever seen.look at all the incredible information .
No, he's fur that barks. Hopefully you can teach the dog to bark less (Sammys are vocal). Nothing you can do about shedding but lots of grooming and vacuuming.
I wish I had had your book and videos with my first dog, 13 years ago. I have a background in applied behavior analysis and love the thought process that these training concepts follow! I just got a puppy this last week and I've been using the methods in your book and videos and 3-4 days in, she's already doing great! Thank you!
Oooh, I love Samoyeds! They’re so pretty! What a smart, cute little guy! He did so great in that big, playland of outdoor distractions! What a cutie! Thanks for sharing, Zak! Keep up the awesome work! God bless and hugs to you and Bree, and the fur babies!☺️❤️
Zak thank you for your help, I’ve never had a dog before and was scared to be a bad parent to my baby, since I found your youtube channel I’ve learned so much things about dogs and how to train them. I’ve basically trained my puppy only wirh your advices and videos and she’s a good puppy! Your channel helps me understand so much about them and understanding is the first step to progress! Thank you so much you’re really good at what you do
I love your videos Zak. I help my daughter with their dog when they are at work. I go to there house and play with and walk her. Your videos have helped me immensely. Thanks so much for putting in the effort and work to create these videos. I feel I would be lost without them :)
Two videos I would really like are; how to pick the right puppy or rescue for the lifestyle we are planning to have. That way when people rescue a dog or buy a puppy they don’t return them shortly after. The other video being; how to make sure you don’t buy from a puppy mill. I had a hard time figuring out where to purchase a puppy from because I didn’t want to contribute to puppy mills. Ended up picking a very well renowned breeder for quite a bit of money.
I got a Golden Retriever Puppy a month ago. Your videos have helped him to learn so much at this young age. Thank You! And Rosho is Adorable, what a beautiful sammy 😍
Wouldn’t have made it to 7 months with my pup without Zak George. Taught me everything I know as a new dog and puppy owner. He’s the best and he saved me life because it is not easy with a pup.
Thank you for making this video! I've recently gotten a rough collie puppy and he is prone to biting hard at our ankles, yet I've followed tips similar to yours and he's honestly improved so much. He's a very well behaved puppy! :)
@@rosiesul5870 I agree with almost everything that furry peeps said, I just want to say please do not put the puppy in a cage to punish them. If you are going to crate train your puppy then the puppy should enjoy using the crate and should want to go in there themselves. Also, you do not necessarily need toilet pads because puppies get used to the material that they pee on so if the puppy is constantly going on the toilet pad, he is going to always want to use it! Just a few tips from a dog owner :)
@@sanha5191 I have heard that treating positive behaviour is better than punishing bad. Also I do want my puppy to learn how to go to the toilet outside so I'll take this I to consideration. Thank you
I love your videos because it is so easy to follow!!! I get my Chocolate Lab next week and I'm so exited keep up the awesome work!!! Also I got your book
I got your Dog Training Revolution book from the library and can't wait to dig in!!! Honestly, I don't know who is cuter you or the dogs you work with. Thank you for all of your great videos. :) I rely on a medical alert dog. My current service dog is a couple weeks from turning 11. She was attacked in September by a large hound dog and is still having ptsd issues and anxiety. A good friend offered me a Gerberian Shepsky pup and I jumped on the chance and was honored to have pick of the litter. I'm a sucker for GSDs and Huskies and believe I got the best of both worlds. Izabella will be 17 weeks old tomorrow and is basically as tall as Chakra who is Shiba Inu and American Eskimo mix.
In the future, I already thought about a dog in my life. I thought of Golden Retriever because they are good for beginner owners and family. At the same time, I really have to think if it is the right dog for me because Golden Retriever can be a Family dog that may need a lot of attention. I hope you will have a video soon mainly talking about some dog breed and their personality so I can find the best dog for me in the future.
I love dogs so much and my husband and I are finally getting my very first this year. I’ve bought your book and have been watching all your videos (for years!) in preparation to do as good a caring/training job as I can. Love your work. So inspiring, specific and helpful! Good job to you and your team :)
I'm taking an 18 week old Samoyed home in 3 days and I'm really excited. I think I've bought more than enough stuff lol but now I'm nervous about training cuz of this whole coronavirus stuff since I think some training classes are cancelled now. But I'm binge watching and reading up on home training stuff and I'm excited to try these on my pup ♡
@ChanningChea they can be very stubborn as part of their whole personality, but I don't think it makes the training hard for them. Once they get the premise of what you're asking for, they pick up on it pretty easily. My dog is stubborn about acting out the command sometimes when I ask him to do it while he's very excited - like a toddler saying, "No. I don't want to." But he knows the command any other time lol. He's now 4 and he still does it. Or he'll awoo or bark at me WHILE he does the command I ask him to do esp when he's very excited. It's like he talks back to you lol. it surprisingly wasn't as hard to train him tbh despite having to do it myself. the biggest challenge is to make sure ur always doing positive reinforcement because that's what they respond to best. It was important especially when potty training. When he failed to control himself or forgets to pee outside, I just don't react to it esp if I discovered the pee or poo late, cos they won't know what you're reacting to at this point. Always reward immediately (be it a praise or a treat), not minutes or even seconds later. I recommend watching Victoria Stillwell as well on top of these videos, her videos are informative esp when ur trying to train a dog that already has behavioral issues. I got my dog at 12 weeks so luckily he was still a puppy. I also never got to take him to a training school like I planned cos of the pandemic so I had to do a lot of the training myself, but overall it was an experience, and with proper training and patience, it's very doable. Also, Samoyeds just have a very nice and sometimes overly friendly temperament on their own. So one of the things I had to work on was working on how excited he gets when he sees every person or dog, cos sometimes you can't just stop and say hello to everybody, esp when other dogs aren't as friendly as yours. Samoyeds are very bright and they'll follow u around almost all day as they love having the companion - It's like you have a permanent tail on u. I highly recommend them - just remember u also have to groom them a lot because of their coat but if u train them to love brushing and grooming time, like it's a spa day for them, it makes everything so much easier. My Samoyed just sleeps while I brush him.
Awww I can’t wait to pick up my Samoyed puppy from the airport. I’ll get to see him the end of this month, Memorial Day weekend. This would help me a lot to prepare since he will be my first dog ever. Thank you for these videos.
