It is an exaggeration. It is a combination of beautifull lore, voice actors, graphic designers, its a mix and match whole package to make it work, just to credit it on the music only, doesn't give credit to the entire Mihoyo Genshin team.
@@BingDwenDwen Not really. They never said that the game would be bad without the music, they just said it would be missing a vital part of what makes it great, and I agree. Frankly the music has been one of the only things keeping me mildly interested in the game for the past year or so.
@@froggy1950 The music is actually a very small part of the game. What makes the game stand out is its gameplay mechanics, the lore and the community. The music in the game is not constantly playing and is active only 20% of the time, so it is impossible people keep playing the game just for the music alone. If it were true that people only love the music, they could have stopped playing the game and listen to the music on youtube or spotify. With that logic the player base of the game would have dropped, but it did not. So this is proof that the gameplay is a bigger part of the reason why people play it.
@@BingDwenDwen That's mostly correct, but that's really not what I'm trying to say. I never said that people only play the game for music, or that music is the only thing that makes the game great. Obviously people don't just play games for music, but without it the game loses a lot of it's magic, especially with a game like Genshin. But that's just my opinion I guess. Also, I'm not arguing against the lore or story, I think those are also some of Genshins strongest areas, I'm just saying that the music in this game is, quite frankly, amazing, and often takes center stage. Why do you think they post concerts for each region, and host annual concerts as well? It's because they know that the music in this game is important, and it's something that a lot of people really enjoy and appreciate.

Yes, this was the best moment of Inazuma livestream for me, Inazuma's OST is so beautifully played here.
Cant wait to hear his performance of Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya’s main themes in the future, especially when Inazuma’s theme in the story preview trailer was like this one.
It's amazing how well planned the music and art direction of this game is when the artistic motifs and musical leitmotifs of each region have already been arranged years before the actual regions even get rendered.
I hope he plays some Russian hardbass for snezhnaya LOL

For Genshin, I am most satisfied with the beautiful graphics, excellent character design, and beautiful music. Many times, after completing all the missions and when there is nothing to play, I like to wander around Liyue and Mondstadt just to watch the beautiful scenery and listen to beautiful music, which is also a kind of enjoyment for me. The last time I liked the music of a game so much was in Nier Automata

He laid the foundation of genshin's music and has captured the hearts of players like myself. i recall the writers talking about the theme of inazuma about eternity. they mentioned how lightning/thunder doesn't last and that the shogun may be trying to keep something forever. thinking about this while listening to the soundtrack, it really does evoke a feeling of longing and that maybe something tragic happened that made the shogun act that way with the visions and all aaa just my interpretation tho ^^; (i feel like i worded this badly so i apologize english isnt my first language djdhdjsj)

I was so surprised and happy when Yu-Peng Chen came on to play the piano. Literally all of the music he composed for not only Genshin Impact but also Honkai Impact 3rd and Gun Girls I think(I'm not sure whether or not he worked on the other Mihoyo games) have been absolutely amazing. I was however rather disheartened when I saw all the comments making jokes about his position and laughing at him as the "random or weird Asian dude".
He only works for Genshin, and the Honkai 3rd ost are composed by Hoyo-mix team members, and those lyricized songs are composed by Zoe who is the sound design leader of Mihoyo, which means Yu-peng Chen also reports to him.
true, people are so racist seeing someone not familiar to them being such a genius, they are acustomed to western artists, its almost as if they are brainwashed by western media that they cannot accept great artists from some other country, I thought with kpop we passed that point where we racist against asian content.

Chen’s friend on zhihu revealed that Chen had to do everything from composing to mixing and orchestrating all by himself. The hoyoverse dubbed this as "all in one". This resulted in a huge workload and unfair treatment for the main composer. Chen’s assistant was also sidelined and hoyoverse kept bringing in newcomers from other channels to join hoyomix.
