64 years old and just starting to learn and enjoy playing guitar. I really appreciate your videos and they have been very helpful. Wanted to thank you for doing this and please keep it up. You have made it enjoyable to learn.
I have played rhythm and lead guitar for over 50 years. Both rock and country from Born to be wild to Your cheatin' heart. It's frustrating and kinda crazy how much you forget along the way. The easy little riffs and the basic chord patterns of some of the simplest tunes out there. I really, really like your videos Marty, because they are basic and down to earth. They have really helped me out quite a few times getting the ole' batteries recharged. I also appreciate the fact you don't show off in your tutorials... Keep up the "fantactical" great work and rock on!!!
I have an electric but usually I just play the acoustic because it's easier just to pick up the acoustic and start playing. But there's nothing like jamming on the electric guitar
I get ads on you tube all the time for all these guitar classes that will "change your life" because, everyone that teaches free on you tube sucks... These idiots obviously don't know about Marty! He's taken me from novice to front man and I'm still learning new things from him all the time! God bless you Marty, you're a fantastic teacher and person!
You dont need to know the things that fender play teaches, to follow a tutorial for a relatively simple tutorial. Fender play is for those looking to actually learn different chords, not just mimick somebody
As stevemason commented, you bring back the old paths to me, haven.t playing for centuries and now I discover it again! Thanx for great work, and even your welcome is worth to learn and practise ev'ry day, thanx Marty! 👏
I've only seen the best rock and roll band, EVER !, 2 times NoLa Superdome Dec 1981, crazy, wild audiience !! Gainesville Fla 1994 unappreciated audience, cept for ME great shows both Stones are the best !!!!
please make a video on different styles of playing acoustic guitar like percussion slap, rhythm patterns etc please..also if possible some tutorials on finger style playing also. Thanks
Thanks again Marty. I've been watching your stuff for a few years now. Especially like your tutorials on the ultimate scales. Can you do a tutorial on Saturday Nights Alright For Fighting? Love that open guitar riff Davey does.
I am brand new and I was working on this with my guitar teacher. I was trying to get everything just right and he stopped me and said these guys were drunk and on drugs the whole time so just keep playing and don’t try to get too persnickety with it. Very important lesson for getting out of my head.
A good, simple, straight-forward and very musical lesson, Marty. So, thank you. And we'll avoid those Tele's on Reverb, cause my cash ain't nothin' but trash.
Thank you for your awesome vids. I'm picking up the guitar again with newfound confidence thanks to you and your way of teaching and explaining exactly what I need to know. I am no longer discouraged!! I would love to see some RUSH songs if possible. Thanks! Jay
I just started learning how to play this on rock smith after I bought it for my Xbox 360 last week. I wanted to see a video of someone actually playing it since I’m not used to rock smith just yet. They were having me learn the single note arrangement version. And I also don’t know if it’s just me or whenever I hear the roof now I can’t hear the line “Help me, I sold my soul!” because I’ve always heard stories of the Rolling Stones actually doing that.
hey marty you are one of the best music teachers i have ever got teached by out of all of the guitar lesson youtubers you the best by far and everyone who sees this message please leave a like for his video as he needs more support with views and likes in his videos not just this one anyway marty please read this message and you are so great and i have recommended you to 7 of my friends and family Thankyou for teaching
Hi Marty thanks for teaching how to play this song satisfaction I am a beginner at learning how to play my electric guitar and your making it easy for me so thank you very much please write back soon ty
can anyone give an explanation or some resources about the strumming technique? i see that he's not hitting all of the strings that are intended in the chord diagrams. He even sometimes hits the E string before strumming the chord, why is that and how do i learn that? Help out a beginner guitarist please :)
Could you please do No Good by Kaleo? It's one of my favorite songs and it's much easier for me when you show songs rather than other people on UA-cam.
i...can't....get...no...satisfaction! i can't get no! i can't get no! when i'm driving in my car and the man comes on the radio he's telling me more and more about some useless information supposed to fire my imagination i can't get no! oh no no no! hey hey!!! that's what i say! i...can't....get...no...satisfaction! cause i try and i try and i try and i try!
Man you're so awesome! I've learnt so much songs from your channel! You've been rlly helpful since my beginning on guitar! Keep going this awesome channel!
Man that was outstanding. Marty you are an inspiration. My fingers just want to party. I would like to ask whether you do any finger, wrist & hand exercise to avoid problems in the joints. Perhaps tell me what works for you or make a video for us all to watch. Maybe you don't do any because you have special powers and the rumors about you being superhuman are true after all? Keep up the brilliant work 😃🎸
Hey Marty I’m from Germany and in my opinion your the best guitar teacher on UA-cam i like your lessons. I got a Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard for Christmas could you please do another video how to set the guitar up in a correct way.? It would be great 👍🏼 happy new year wishes Luca
you are awesome!!!! I've been playing for a little over a year now and I am so much better than i ever thought i would be because o you!! thank you so much
Hi Marty. Absolutely love your updates. Such a chill and pedagogical vibe from your videos man. Dude, I'd love to request something. It would be awesome if in the description box you could write a little list of the equipment you use to get the sound of the song you're teaching ie guitar model, amp and pedals. It would be really helpful to see exactly what you use to get the tones and such. Anyways, keep on keeping on man! \m/
Hi there. I just recently started learning with an electric guitar and I have a question. How is he playing the chords so... idk how to explain it. From 2:40 forward. Like why does it sound like he's only playing the last note in the chord? I like that, but I haven't seen another video of someone doing that and I can't figure out how it's done. If anyone understands what I mean, can someone explain pls? Thanks
@@milan5079 Hey. Thanks I found out how it's done. He explains it in another video. Apperantly it's called "palm muting", where you lightly lay your palm on the strings just before the bridge.

I didn’t start playing until I was in my early 30s and now I’m 54 and marginally better 😂
