my grandpa and his oldest boy, 'dunc' were big in the RR.when illinois central bought 'gulf' and made it IC&G they sent dunc to the south to over see the transition(early-mid 60s).he lived in holly springs, miss. for a while and then they brought him back to decatur,il. as a kid growing up i remember the old penn central that came thru town.**these trains are just beautiful...all of the folks involved in this should be very, very proud!!
I think they do. Beats running around a wobbly "track" in a box car. Their track is good for 25 and they do all of it, sometimes more in their NW2 since it doesn't have a spedo. They spent like 30k a few years ago for a contractor to come in and do some major track work. No idea where they get the money, but they are very popular so probably get lots of ticket sales.
They didn't here. The last car has lights and a horn for reverse moves. They have a wye downtown Monticello however for whenever they need to turn something. There is one at White Heath as well but I am not sure if it's in use.

Very cool video of them building up the Polar express Train.

I'm jealous of your passenger stock, it looks like they actually provide steam heat for the cars.
