    Most plastic straws are recyclable and and cost less energie (and co2) to produce then paper straws.
    Not litering would have a bigger impact .
    So don't litter.

    • @assassinxex
      @assassinxex 5 років тому

      The only reason paper straws exists is because they biodegrade and to make places look good, ultimately I think they are kinda good but like they only exist to hide the overall problem

      The switch to paper straws reduces the danger of plastic straws in birds, fish, and other wildlife. It goes without saying that humans should not litter.

      @@LeilaniLovesElephants
      not littering reduces the danger.
      paperstraws are as bad as the plastic ones. its not like they de-solve. because you know. you use them to drink liquids.
      al those poor animals that have plastic in them have them because people littered them.
      Preventing littering will help almost eliminate the problem.
      (then again, most plastic found in the oceans are from garbage belts in asia. that just dump everything in the sea, india and china are the worst polluters in that respect (though china is really working hard to reduce it. but that because they need to sea life to feed themself)
      Most of the "western" used to dump there garbage in the seas. they are not aloud to do that any more. Making littering the number one contributing factor to the western garbage.
      I get that seeing a straw getting pulled out from the nose of a sea turtle is making you feel disgusted. But blame the cause not the means. it's not the existence of a straw. It's how people handle there trash.
