Another way to mitigate physical damage (while stationary) is through Arctic Armour. It's not as reliable as other solutions, but may help for some builds.

yyyeaah problem with that is that arctic armour is multiplicative with everything else
I've been eyeing this keystone for a couple seasons now but couldn't figure out how to mitigate the downside, now I do. Thanks a bunch for an understandable breakdown!
You can get small cluster jewels with the Prismatic Carapace mod which grants 30% increased armour and 1% to all max resistances.
Stacking these jewels is definitely worth it if you decide on using a lightning coil.

I play transcendence on my juggernaut boneshatter with 11 endurance charges to cover the physical dmage mitigation part, it work very well
How about Dots? Elemental Dots especially.
@@diomedes0078 I'm immune to ignite, and I out-regen most of the dots in the game, when you have 60k hp regen per sec, there's few dots that can kill you xd
@@emattera6391 how do you achieve 60k HP regen?
@@diomedes0078 It is just marauder ascendency, physical damage prevented on the past 10 sec regenerated as life. And I'm playing boneshatter so I prevent a ton of physical damage which is converted to hp regen
@@emattera6391 Could that be a league starter in your opinion? I heard that boneshatter is pretty good early on (I'm new to PoE and I'm trying to decide what to play next league).

great info as always. I would have liked a mention of how divine flesh + forth vow mimic this keystone very closely for a much lower investment. Especially if one throws in the old reliable Mahuxoatels + Tempered by war on top as well.

Once the series is over, I'd be interested to hear your take on the keystones that might need buffs or changes, similar to what you're doing with ascendencies. Hollow palm comes to mind as one that needs a buff or changes.
Dance with Death, Second Sight, Arrow Dancing and a bunch of others are far more in need of changes than Hollow Palm.

Yeah I did want to cover stuff like Divine Flesh first as it's more popular atm and I knew those would be the biggest ones
At the moment I am using this, or 100% of damage except for chaos taken as fire. Both are really tanky, unbelievably tanky.
These kinds of tanks are really great for delving.
Currently playing the lite version of this with Tempered by War, Purity of fire Sublime vision, Phhs conversion Chieftain. Did Transedence a couoke leagues ago and its quite a journey to reach its full potential. I was basically unkillable
I would absolutely argue that Transcendence is the baby version of Tempered by war + Purity of fire sublime vision full conversion. Slap on cloak of flame, dawnbreacker and some other choice gear and you run around with 90 fire res, everything taken as fire (90+ phy taken as fire is possible) with a dash of recoup and bloodnotch and damage stops existing. The only thing that can kill that is über mavens anti regen beam, Sirius black vortex and über exarch balls if 4 of them hit you in rapid succesion. Then you dont need any res other then fire and chaos so you can get exotic stats on gear to add damage or utility. And god beware you get your fingers on a mageblood and combine a ruby flask with arctic armour for 70% less fire taken and you become insane.
With Dawnbreaker and sublime vision in the game that usually tends to be much better then transcendence due to dodging pen much better and having less build restrictions.

@@ArawnOfAnnwn yes, so do the max. rolled versions of Uniques you need to get Transcendence off the ground. Trancendany also puts a lot of pressure on your rares thought all the unique you have to set off you will be paying big time for T1 double resist, T1 Chaos, T1 life T1 armour rolls. Its a big chunk all at once for sublime vision but it also saves on rare cost so that balances out a bit.

Any more keystones, I know some keystones are very simple and old ones but like to see when should they be taken.
New Chieftan with All maximum res from Fire res + Transcendence? You can also steal something from Jugg via Forbidden jewels?
so if you were to also manage to add 10% spell suppression, you would be kinda immortal. since most (or even all?) strong boss abilities are spells. so armour will do a fine job reducing all small hits down to irrelevance, and spell suppression will help make boss abilities irrelevant.
does phys taken as X element work on bleed? I mean does it make me take elem DMG from bleed?
If the mod is not specific to hits(most of them are) then it will work for bleeding. Fe. the modifier for physical damage taken as fire damage on both the Cloak of Flame and Dawnbreaker uniques do not specify hits, so they work for all types of physical damage including dots
You can do chieftan armour stacker with doppelanger chest.. Or well crafted rare with frost armor, you can stack some end charges and det watcher mod. Tried it in std but wasnt too impressive. Id rather just play jugg and concentrate on simply getting more armor as it gives more dps and no gimmicks.
Can you do Glancing Blows next? When making builds, it'd be helpful to get insight when it's worth taking vs investing into naturally maxing block chance or getting versatile combatant
Only worth it if you use aegis.. And enough armour.
This keystone is broken af. Mageblood with resist flasks turns you into a god
How about some unique item analysis after the keystones? Would like to see some nerf-candidate uniques like Heatshiver discussed, for instance.

As always, another unique mechanic that makes PoE gamers think they can achieve something good/reliable, but in the end this leads to a huge complexity where nothing unique happens and you still keep dying.

@@f.jideament People have literally tanked endgame boss abilities with these kinds of setups. That's the stuff that you're not even meant to tank, as it's telegraphed so you can dodge it. CaptainLance9 for instance has a video from a few leagues ago of him trying to do just that, and successfully tanking almost all of them. You can be very tanky in PoE if you understand it.
