Did you forget to drop the trigger assembly(flip the safety lever up towards the reciever rail and remove), or is that not part of the strip? Also if you push the pusher rod towards the receiver then remove the piston first it makes removing the rod alot easier. Nice video and beautiful rifle, regardless.
I just forgot, it wouldn't be a normal part of field stripping, but it is very easy and I should have included it. With the cover off and carrier out, move the selector all the way up until its vertical, then wiggle it out. Once done, the trigger mech will rotate out, just pull down on the trigger guard.
Also yes on the piston. I realized that when taking it apart again for the thumbnail. The next gun in this series is the 1918 A2 BAR. I took it apart several times to figure out a few tricks in preparation. It will go live tonight or tomorrow AM.
Hey, Arm&Gun. I was just out antiquing with my dad, and I found an old Springfield Armory M1905 Bayonet with what looks like a re-constructed scabbard. Can I send you the picture of it?
Do anybody happen to know what is the thread dimentions on the front sight post? It could be the same as AK, but in comments for replacement fiber optic AK sight somebody wrote that it was loose on SVD... It could be because the post didnt have split bottom end for increased friction, but maybe the thread is different.
Despite all the imbeciles saying the type 81 is based on an sks, imo its based on the dragunov! Look at the has regulator and the piston. The only thing sks about the tyoe 81 is the charging handle which was propably done for ease of manufacturing
The svd is one of my favorites
Me too

Does someone know how to adjust the front post sight? Not in height but in the windage adjustment. Thanks.

So with the new laws coming to Canada, can you keep your Mauser C96?
I could have kept it personally or transferred it to the business. However I let it go as I found a m712 schnellfeuer :)
هل هناك فرق في ترباس بين SVD و ترباس M19

Why are they so expensive 😭 a real 1986 izhmash SVD is on gunbroker rn for $35k
Low supply, high demand. Thank strict US import laws for that one. Internationally they're much less.

Are you having to get rid of your guns
No. My personal guns affected by the ban will go to the business that already holds most of these.
