The Top Gear trio set out on an epic race from a small beach on Japan's west coast to a monument to the Buddha of road safety located half-way up Mount Nokogiri, some 400 miles to the east. Pitted against Jeremy in his 193mph Nissan GT-R are Richard and James using the might of Japan's incredible public transport system and its fabled 200mph bullet train. Taken from series 11, episode 4.

Clarkson: "HELP!!!!!"
One of the funniest moments I've ever seen.
Hey
indeed
One of my parents is Japanese and she was the first to tell me about the fact that speaking aloud on mobile devices on public transport is seen as very disrespectful and frowned upon in Japan. Being from the UK, I couldn't imagine having the same principles applied to our public transport.
I keep talking when i know people can hear me..
Everything is rude in Japan. Let's be real: It's a society of rules, germophobia, racism, and radical judgement. There's ceremony and ritual for every damn thing and people just go with it. That part at least is commendable. I rather enjoy having the freedom to be gross.
@@orangejjay My favorite part about Japan is war crimes and refusing to take responsibility for those war crimes. Rape of Nanjing and Unit 731 anyone?
yeah the face of that girl at 3:56 said everything :D very silent, cultural , ethic and respectful people they are. but at the same time sad lonely and suicidal just because of that.
Why is it considered rude... what if you have an important call to make
Jeremy Clarkson is the only man that can take a wrong turn driving straight on a Japanese highway and end up in Switzerland.
Any time you see "23" or "3923" on a promotional Nissan:
23: Two Three: Nii San aka Nissan
3923: Three Nine Two Three: San Kyu Nii San aka Thank You, Nissan.
That is number plate
That's why all of the Nissan LM cars are number 23
Ahhhhh 😄😄😄
Learned something today

Alp Tigin I bet you saw that initial d ending right? :D
3:10 James May really had an eyegasm there. He has a thing for trains and collects models of them.

it is rude to use a telephone in a train in japan
because you break the peace and or quietness in the train

People of the world you have no idea how happy this kept the British male during its existence.
Alex Mallinson trust me as an American who greatly loved the show I know exactly what you are talking about
Kevin Lentz as another American, I second this. So three hilarious Brits left the bbc and have joined the American Amazon. I think both countries appreciate the show greatly.
I am American and not male and I quite liked this show.
As an American, I must ask: do you guys consider these three a national treasure?
yes, actually most of us do.

i saw this episode ages ago but after having studied japanese for a number of years (and after having lived there) it's hilarious to watch them struggle with Japanese. The best part was when they were like "The ice-skating man with the picnic table...but that's a man on skis playing a harp next to it" hahaha exactly how I felt when I first started learning Japanese.

Nissan say it produces 470bhp and 1 car had 507 - that's quite a difference. I'd expect them to be slightly different, but not almost 40bhp.
As long as it's more bhp it's not bad
Then one car has 200 hp
Yea, but let's not believe everything they say. All AMG engines are hand-built and they publish their bhp. Also, why would the tolerances of a hand-built engine be so huge that bhp varies greatly across cars?
Its like a surprise egg od horsepower from the company

No I know they were called datsun. It's just the way he says it reminded me of when they had the run to the border episode and he called the lfa a "celica" as to make fun of the car. I had a 1985 celica gt that I loved and it was like he was making fun of my baby.
I laughed so hard at the scene which Jeremy screamed "HELP!!!" when the nav system announced the traffic jam on the way😂😂

This masterpiece is just never getting old.
I love May's observations.
I took a year of Japanese classes(although I've forgotten most of it) and it was pretty easy to pick up. The fact that it is entirely phonetic makes it simpler to remember words and phrases.
