@GenTechPC thanks for carrying this laptop and having it in-stock! You just shipped mine today and I can't wait to see how my games run on it! I, for one, am LOVING the return of translucent cases on electronics! Everything that was cool in the '90s and early 2000s is starting to make a comeback! ^_^
Hello guys, Great video! I greatly appreciate the use of a sound meter and your infrared camera. I am leaning towards the scar 18 over the GT 77 titan. Thanks again for answering all my questions
Need a faster Ram option on these Asus models. 4800 mhz is the main thing holding these back, and you guys should be able to install 5600 mhz. Might consider upgrading my Msi Gp76 that i got from you guys nearly 2 years ago for a G18 strix, but will wait till better Ram options are available, and ideally one with Zen 4.
Faster RAM won't run at 5600MHz due to chipset bandwidth limitation with 13980HX CPU installed, for 5600MHz it will need to run at lower CPU such as 13950HX or 13900HX.
@@GenTechPC How is it that Msi Raider such as the Ge78HX with the 13980hx are able to run at 5600 mhz though... Atleast according to HidEvolution. You guys only have 4800mhz listed though for it as well. I have only bought from you guys before and trust you, but there is no chance that the HidEvolution is wrong on this I'm afraid. Maybe you should look more into it, since other resellers are able to do it. There are already verified reviews and benchmarks posted on the GamingLaptop reddit featuring the Ge78HX with 13980hx and 5600mhz of ram, so this isn't some imaginary concoction on HidEvolution's part, it's reality. The reviewer noted that Msi claimed the Raider was only 4800mhz, so it was a mistake on Msi's part (since it clearly is running out of box at 5600 mhz). You guys should update your Msi Ge78Hx on the website to display it as 5600 mhz, its the exact same model as the one on HidEvolution, but people looking at the 2 of them will assume your version is inferior (eventhough its the exact same one) due to the crippled Ram. Perhaps the issue is with Asus bios, but its most assuredly not a 13980hx limitation.
@@GenTechPC thanks for that explanation, I've seen that some competing models, such as the Gigabyte Aorus 17X, ARE running 5600 mhz RAM, but they have either a 13900HX or a 13950HX, so that explains the difference for me. Much obliged.
I noticed some noise in my Scar 17 SE 3080ti. It is possible that it comes from nvme drive, read something about it and was surprised it sounds a bit like old hdd noise. I`m not going to send mine to asus to investigate. Laptop works perfectly and I`m really happy, it`s a great machine
Hey Syn Stark, I have Coil Whine on my model too. Here is my video: ua-cam.com/video/DQ9Q3r3uu5k/v-deo.html It is using Blender, Gpu mode on and interactive render in the viewport. As other reviewers have stated clearly in their videos, the amount of coil whine can vary from one laptop to another, even on the same model. And it's only noticeable when the system's idle, once you're actually playing a game or doing anything else that generates heat, the fans will kick in, and the coil whine is no longer audible over the fan noise at that point.

@@GenTechPC Hi! Can you make a review on the 16 version of Asus Scar with comparison between the 16 and 18 in the near future? I would love to watch it and maybe consider buying one
That's going to depend on which headset you use. A good noise-cancelling model, such as those made by Audio Technica, Bose, and other quality companies, should be able to get rid of virtually all of the fan noise. If they can cancel out most of the noise from the jet engines on an airplane flight, a laptop's cooling fans will be child's play by comparison!
