- In this video I traveled to Uvalde,TX to compete in the Briscoe Ranch BBQ Cook-Off. This is one of the best events in the state in my opinion and definitely one you should add to your schedule.

Helllzzzz yessss 🎉
That chicken was shiny good!
I wonder how they even rank 145 different types of ribs. How do you even place so many
Lots of judges. Basically you're only going up against the ribs on your table and if you win your table you move on to the next round.
I have same pit barrel as u but can’t keep it at 300 I use a blower to get to to 300 but then it goes back down any advise?
Do you have a Race Crew Drum or another brand of drum smoker? Not all drums are built the same so that's why I ask.
@@CentralTexasGrilling race drum
@@yote5.082 I've never had an issue getting my temp up. What kind of charcoal are you using? Are you using leftover charcoal from previous cooks or new charcoal every time?
@@CentralTexasGrilling left over and using the lump charcoal jealous devil
@@yote5.082 I did the same thing when I first got my drums but found out the leftover charcoal wasn't getting the job done. I use new charcoal every single time now and have had no issues. I use B&B Charcoal briquettes. I find they burn more evenly since they all the same size and it burns hotter. Maybe give that a try and see if it helps.
Brother James where are you? Videos? Is T Ray Cooks dead?
Hey Hector! I'm still around. Got a couple of videos going up in the next few days. Troy moved out of stay but I don't know if or when he'll put up another video. Hopefully he does soon. I'll have to call him and tell him to put one out.
@@CentralTexasGrilling I’m glad your good Brother James!
what's your team name now?
It's still the same right now but I think I'm going to transition to "Texas Made Smokers" soon.
