The bird is not one of her body parts. A bird is British slang for a woman.
How did neither of them know or remember that?
Especially being BRITISH?! 🤔🙄
Kind of older slang for a woman, no? Just like "broad" was American slang for a woman.
Funny story: A British stand up comedian from the 1970s, Billy somebody, I forget his last name, told some humorous stories regarding the confusion between American slang and British.
He wasn't aware that "broad" was American slang for "woman." On the first day of his first visit to the States, his American friend, presuming him to be lonely, asked "Can I get you a broad?"
Surprised (and mildly confused), Billy responded, "I just *got* here!"
Well she is British.
@@57highland I think you're probably talking about Billy Connolly. He's funny AF!
Old Remington Steel checking out the birdie 😂😂😂
That was a great line at the end.
That was a joke.
I laughed way too hard at this 😂😂😂😂
I actually met Minnie at the Toronto film festival in 2011. My GF was one of the volunteers, and she and I and a few others were out back of the venue having a cigarette break, and Minnie Driver just walked out and asked if she could bum a smoke off someone. She said if she gets pictured smoking she gets so much shit for it, so she has to do it on the QT. Really down to earth, really dry and funny.
I met her briefly at Sundance 20 years ago. She was extremely lovely inside and out.
That’s how they are rich .
Pay for nothing
That's the good thing about smoking; people who have nothing in common from different social classes can bond over society hating them as smokers.
Qt?? ???

Love Minnie Driver because she can do comedy or drama with such great talent. Pretty rare.

who knew she was british. wow. after all these years
Absolutely 100% 👍 @@rgross1967
He wasn’t calling your ass a bird he was calling you a bird like guys did back in the day
That’s so weird. Back in 2003 my suitemate was English and he told me they called chicks “birds” over there. I don’t see how it went over Minnie’s head seeing she’s from the UK.
Edit: she was born in London & raised in Barbados, maybe that’s why.
I was waiting for this comment so I didn't have to say it lol....
@vhscopyofseinfeld Ah, that edit explains it well. Thank you.
@@vhscopyofseinfeld She's playing at not understanding.
And he would have called her ass her arse.
Please bring back Craig Ferguson. Thank you.
They won't after #Metoo he's too unwoke, all the flirtiness and naughty statements and masculanity, they can't have that. The need want vaguely funnyish good little men who do, say, and support what they are told too. They want SAFE, Craig is way to much fun and mischievious to be safe. Maybe on FOX.
Both are garbage
@gyorgyor7765 is was pretty grim watching him perv over young women he was interviewing.
Him acting like he's never fucked a woman before gets old real fast.
@@paintspot1509Everyone of those women gave as good as they got. It was funny as hell. You see, many years ago, the human species would flirt and playfully touch each other without intent of malice. Both sexes enjoyed this until some ugly people got jealous that no one would flirt with them. Now, young people don't even know what a woman is. They live through phone screens, swiping right, rolling the dice, never to experience the euphoric "tingle" of someone touching or flirting with them because they were smitten.
Her laugh is the best... add in that adorable accent.......
Yes it is very sexy
Imagine hearing that first thing in the morning.

He was calling you a bird if he was from England.
She's from England herself and I'm sure is more than familiar with all the English slang vocabulary
Thanks for clearing that up for everybody
her arse?
London to be specific. East London or South-East. ❤ Cockney all the way
Yeah, I wonder why she didn't know that bird was slang for a woman, when she herself is from England. Maybe it's a generational thing. I know it was used in the 60s and 70s so maybe she just wasn't used to hearing it.
Lovely to Behold; her comedic side really shined in the animated Tarzan; all those years ago 😅✌️
First movie I can remember was Return to Me with Dave Duchovny; fun movie, good cast, good story 😌

Could listen to her talk every single day and then some. Damn I love her accent like those from Australia, Irish, and the UK
“That’s flattering but that’s quite enough Mr. Bond”
"Bird" is British slang for female.
She would know that as she is British. This is obviously for the international camera. THey have to have something amusing to say in these "interviews". Pathetic really ?
@@awalk5177 Minnie was raised in Barbados, so she may not have been familiar with the term. Not to mention the term's really outdated, even in England.
I thought all the Brits called a pretty girl a bird. Since she's from England, she would have known that.
Except he wasn't calling HER a "a bird", he was definitively referring to her BUTT as a "bird" all while patting her butt. I am sure she has been called a "bird". Her whole point was that she let this guy do this while using a common euphimism.
Yes, some do . Not many like it
Back in the day.....that's cute.

Dude, it's not like she claimed it was her "Breakout" role. 🙄
how can you not love this lady?
It would be hard to resist, but resist you must.
It’s a “Burd”. Not “Bird” it’s rarely used anymore. In old English it means a young woman or maiden. A suspected Virgin.
Nah, it's "bird". Slang for woman. Like "she's my bird" (she's my girl). Similar meaning to calling women chicks (which are also birds).
All of which are derived from the "original" medieval one he was mentioning... like soo many sayings and words that people don't realize changed over time.
@@bch5513 Well said! Like “Santa Claus” came down to us from “Saint Nicholas”… “Saint Nich olas”… “Santa Claus”. It’s like listening to a baby learn how to say certain words. Some children and some adults shorten or change the sound unintentionally and others change them intentionally. That’s how languages develop. That’s how we got Spanish, Italian, French English etc. from Latin in just 2000 years.
@@interestedbystander196interesting. Thanks
@@dcjohnson2208 therefore he did say bird. It just meant a woman not the animal. But he still said bird. And I don't think think she misunderstood anything. I think most of you are missing her simple point that she didn't really like being touched in the behind or something. She wasn't really focusing on the word and it's etymology. Maybe she was a bit more distracted by the fact that she was being patted in the back?
Chick, bird, mother hen, granny goose they molt at each stage of life

Golden Eye was the Bond movie where James was asked: How do you survive? by some villain and he replied famously by saying: "I take great pleasure from beauty."

I actually liked Minnie Driver back in the 90's, she was quite well known in the UK. Circle of Friends, small role in GoldenEye, pretty good in Grosse Pointe Blank & Good Will Hunting I think she was in the running to voice Lara Croft (My favourite gam franchise at the time), she ended up doing the Revisioned: Tomb Raider animated series in 2007 (which she was perfect). A great actress.
She called her personal space and honoring that “PC” lmfao absolutely cooked
