Bremner was definately offside , however , im a leeds fan and its alright by me...When you look at all the tight decisions during their heyday they lost 4 Trophy's as a result...Referee's suspended etc etc.....So yeah , if it bit went our way , i'll take it !
Nobody has mentioned that the free kick for the second goal by Ipswich was taken 10 yards ahead of where the foul took place. I suppose that was Dirty Cheating Leeds fault as well. Just saying!
Yep bremner is offside and sniffer looked like he handled it . When you look at what went against them over that 10 year period you can all do one . But for referees and dodgy keepers we wouldve won a lot more . Mind you , i wouldve taken this offside for the munich game in '75 . Classic cheating in that game cost us the big one , not forgetting sniffer definate pen.
If the officials allow a goal that may have been offside, how is that cheating? In nearly five decades of watching football, I am yet to see a goalscorer (from any club) plead with the referee to disallow his goal! Can you imagine it? "Excuse me referee, I think I may have been slightly offside there, so I can not possibly claim that goal. Please disallow it, there's a good chap"!
If Brian Clough was that "right", as you suggest, why did he then take the manager's job at Elland Rd only a number of weeks after this match was played? After all, who in their right mind would want to tarnish their own reputation by being associated with a bunch of cheats?
I was at this game with my dad bless him
Happy memories
Peter Lorimer, hotshot, what a player.

Just noticed how far back the stand behind the goal was at Elland rd? Wonder why they did that, maybe it was for a running track??
That was to build the current South Stand, which was much larger than the old 'scratching shed' it replaced at that end.
That's also why the tunnel isn't on halfway at ER as they moved the pitch
We stood behind the mackeson sign every match ,great days watching the greatest team of the 70s bar non

Hah Cloughie was right, another great display of cheating from Leeds, Bremner off side, and Clarke handles the ball.
