One of my favorite parts of being in drum corps was warming up in these kind of areas so others that have no idea what drum corps is can get this sweet blast of music
The joys of being at my school! The Blue Devils come to our school and practice the show, plus we get to meet them and a bunch of other stuff for a discounted price
I promise you that it's a life changing experience. Being in front of and in a hornline has totally changed my life. Sadly i don't get to finish this season with the mandarins (My rookie year)
Loved being a Bluecoat 23 years ago and playing Pants. DT. you are the best brass composer, arranger, and teacher I have ever had the privilege of knowing and learning from. GO BLOOOOOOOOOO 16
2:48. Love the melos!!! Bloo is one of the few groups that you can clearly hear all sections that compliment each other. You guys are so good! Let's go blooo 2016!
This is my favorite vid of kinetic noise era. There isn't a full ballad with the horns so I can watch it over and over without having to worry about crying
You see the Bari and Mello valve oils all messed up and laying around, then you see the trumpet's valve oils in a nice and neat triangle...love that XD (in the beginning at least haha)
I love lot warmups like this where it’s more public I think it shows that anyone can really do it in some way plus introduces people to dci because we all know dci isn’t quite as well known as other things but if you know dci you’re connected vs football where some people watch and others dont
I’m up in the woods, down on my mind, I’m building a still, to slow down the time, I’m up in the woods, I’m down on my mind, I’m building a still, to slow down the time
my tasteful ears caught the baritone hangover immediately before that statement was made. but yeah.... the Coats have been dadblame awesome the last several years.
I just wonder what all those people passing by are thinking at some of the loud intense moments. Assuming they have no idea what a drum corps is.
I think about that every time I watch a warmup video like this lmao
Same here
I have a weird interest in people who don’t know what DCI being hit by a hornlines opener or closer or something

Derek Smith *wow the college band sure is loud this year*
I cried from this hornline. It sounds so wonderful.
You and me both lol
Got to see them live that year. They were top of the line with Crown and Devils that year.
Thank you, me too. Eventually after that year because I realized how underrated they were
I would do anything to be standing in front of that arc and feeling the full force of the bluecoats' hornline!

You are always welcome to come watch a warmup at any show. As an alumni I will say that it is awesome.
@@kevinstone9638 I got to watch them perform in finals after my show with the Crossmen in 2019! Simply incredible!
Those tubas sound so heavenly. I hope to find their sheet music soon!
+Danimal for their feature? i can send you a link to a place that has it

+brown55061 How about those mellos at 3:19? So clear.
Yeah I listened again. I've never heard a hornline play so machine-like. On their power holds it just sounds like a synth it's so smooth and balanced.
DANG I PLAY SNARE BUT THIS IS FANTASTIC
Sameeeeee
Same
Samee
I've watched this so many times that when I hear the actual show I can hear that car horn at 3:06 in my head
I cannot get enough of the mellos at 6:19 - 6:26
that was dadblamed perfect
That tuba walk down at 6:16 gets me every time
3:06 , whoa, that horn was so FAR OFF it sounded two-toned!
Horns on almost all modern automobiles are two toned.
8:14 idk why but i love how whatever the trumpets are doing lines up almost perfectly with the contras
i will be in that tuba section
+jake andersen Haha, this comment and your picture xD
+Johnathan Granados lol didnt even see that
+jake andersen Hey man, I'm going to audition for the Bluecoats contra line in a few years!
+Robinson Gomez Same, guys! I'm going in like 2/3 years. Marching open class this year at 14.
+Samuel Cai That's cool man. I'm planning to go 2018-2020
6:24 CHILLS EVERY TIME THAT DESCENDING PATTERN IS SO FUCKING HOT
THE SINGING WAS BEAUTIFUL
Yaaaaaaass tubas yaaaaaaaas
Thank you. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. To everyone involved.
God the chord at 2:48 has me going through *time*
6:19 def one of my fav moments in dci
Please, by all that is holy. Let them win this year.
I could watch 8:13 until I'm bloo in the face.
5:12 is unbelievable man
That ballad gets me every single time
This is my favorite vid of kinetic noise era. There isn't a full ballad with the horns so I can watch it over and over without having to worry about crying
9:24 you can tell that tuba player in the front of the circle is a cadet👀
because of how he comes down to carry?
@@litenalskare yes!
man those mellos sound so damn good at 3:42 and 3:53
their horns are all so shiny and look exactly the same! That is so cool!
Talon White because they are the same
damn that closer is clean af
One of my favorite Contra lines
3:12 was tasty
Gabe Trotter yes indeed it was!
You gotta be kidding me !!! What a sound ! PERFECTION
The singing at the end might’ve been the best part of the whole video
If i came upon them i would have stopped the car and listened until they were done. It sounds wonderful
You see the Bari and Mello valve oils all messed up and laying around, then you see the trumpet's valve oils in a nice and neat triangle...love that XD (in the beginning at least haha)
that singing...i honestly cried
I never tire of listening to this.🥰
Almost Crown level!!!! Amazing!!!!
Wish this was in Dublin Ireland
I love lot warmups like this where it’s more public I think it shows that anyone can really do it in some way plus introduces people to dci because we all know dci isn’t quite as well known as other things but if you know dci you’re connected vs football where some people watch and others dont
top favorite lot video 💙
This was incredible!
3:04
I used to live in Dublin and now I'm pissed I moved :)
Beautiful.
2020 and this still hits
people keep looking at me weird bc i tear up every single time i listen to the ballad ITS NOT MY FAULT OKAY I AM A WEAK BAND CHILD
me too! omg.
me too! omg.
How do you record something like this as close as you are without overwhelming the mic?
@3:06 Brass caption head to the car-"late entrance, and you're flat"
9:17 EIGHTEEEEEN
I miss these uniforms
Is it just me or does their hornline look smaller?
That shit is Dolby. Dayum
Woods 😍
Powerful
Who else noticed the early mellophone at 3:54 lol
Ian Maloney it was meant to be like that, if itwas 1 person, it would be a lot quieter
Ian Maloney did you not hear him say right after that that was the most controlled he ever heard the mellophones lol
Miles Keaton controlled on the 16th notes lol
At 0:44 is it the mellos playing the fifth or overtones?
+MainCut Media That's insanely incredible
Tell me about it lol.
What’s the chorale in the beginning called and is there a transcription of it on MuseScore?
I know a majority of you came here for 8:09
Let's be real here tho
Those fuckin splits are dope
Actually 5:41
9:23 cadets horns down? lol
I’m up in the woods, down on my mind, I’m building a still, to slow down the time, I’m up in the woods, I’m down on my mind, I’m building a still, to slow down the time
6:24
At 1:26 , Does anyone know what Psalm this is?
Wouter Elstrodt
It’s a Bach chorale used by the Bluecoats as a hornline warmup called “BWV 431”, or as Gipson simply calls it, “431”.
What is the chord progressions name at 0:55
I believe it's called "thumbs".
The Synth killed the 16 member tuba sections.... now its more common to see 12
saving 3:02 for later
the ballad timing is really confusing for me, but it's really cool at the same time.
1:22 “amateur sound” god damn alrighty then, corps directors have some tasteful ears
Pretty sure he said very mature sound. but to your point, yeah they do.
my tasteful ears caught the baritone hangover immediately before that statement was made.
but yeah.... the Coats have been dadblame awesome the last several years.
mellos at 6:41
what’s the very first warmup called?
Thumbs
Are some of the baritones different sizes?
most of the section is on euphoniums, only firsts are on baritones i believe
WHAT THE HECK IS THAT FIRST WARM UP CALLEDDD???????? I WANNA LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pants
A World Without Pants
Yo imagine this ballad with trombones
8:50 it appears I’ve been playing it wrong...lol
We’re they all just singing their parts?
What's the warmup at :55 called?
+Justin R Thumbs. It's their Concert F tuning chord progression. Almost all corps do a variation of a concert F progression. This is my fav :3
Why is the drum major wearing headphones for the opener hit
Galactic Bleachman he's listening to a metronome
I can’t hear the saucy echo):
Lmao all the valve oil on the floor
What were they singing?
+Marquis Thomas Their ballad, Woods.
Anyone notice the euphonium with baggy ass pants lmao
2015 season was a crap shoot. Bluecoats deserves more than what they got.
John Alexander did you not like the show? i’m curious as to why you would say this
3:02 m m m
Does anyone know why Willie wears headphones during the introduction?
+Maisie McKell Metronome. I believe you are not aloud to have a live metronome in lot.
oh okay, thank you!
Bluecoats, now wear tights and colorful flashy suits...
*:(
6 disses.....ha
Smok'in
the tone and clarity of this hornline literally doesn't sound real
