7:01 possibly the best part Moonsorrow has ever written
This brings chills and tears, such a beautiful song.
Do You know that feeling as if you "live" in a song? You cannot get enough of it. You listen to it every day several times a day. This is one of those songs.
The one song to turn to when darker days hit...thank you Moonsorrow.
Still the best song by anyone ever.
Couldn't agree more
I was born in St. Petersburg in the late eighties, I studied at a school with in-depth study of the Finnish language, I understand all the words in this song, I am half Karelian, and I don’t understand why all the crap that is happening now should concern me
2:13 that cry can raise the dead.
It's just so goddamn unfair Moonsorrow doesn't get the attention they deserve.
Yes... For all those undeserving and unworthy then yes... they don't get to listen... The God's know... They are watching... Always
Most people aren't worthy of Moonsorrow tbh
They (unexpectedly) played this live at Metal Days in Slovenia 2014 and I almost cried when it got to that bit at 11:28... so powerful, beautiful and yes, I was drunk.
Thanks for uploading, this is a really cool video.
Earthworm 🤘🏻🖤🍻🖤🤘🏻
I'm a total "man's man" and I've cried like a child at that part... I consider it the absolute pinnacle of music
I am not drunk and i cry
Same here, got absolutely shitfaced at their gig in Brescia 2015. They played Pimea, Raunioilla, Kivenkantaja, Jotunheim, Huuto, Sankaritarina and a couple others I can't remember. The crowd sang every choir, I felt an absolutely fulfilling sense of kinship, it was amazing. Could've shed manly tears on Pimea finale and the whole Jotunheim.
@@stefanovitali2925 That's an epic setlist. Wish I could have been there! Hail!!
I am not ashamed to say I have bawled my eyes out to this song. Music itself peaked at 9:49!
Yes, THAT is the best part of the song for me too
1:12 and 2:15 ville sorvali accidentally steps on lego.
singerfinger he has more pain at 2:15
FUCKING LOL, and i'm fucking laughing alone now
9:53 corner of table
At 2:15 I think is a very bad ass scream.
i've found this comment again and i forgot that i commented before and was fucking funny
I looked out Pimeä in the dictionary, and it turned out it means Perfection.
Wikipedia says it means "dark"
It means dark. I'm Finnish. This song is still perfection🤘
Thank you for the upload this is my favourite tune of all time 🤘👍👍👍hail moonsorrow
Masterpiece 🤘
one of my favourite...
9:49 is still an incredible scream!
The PINNACLE of music for me! Nothing beats this moment
Favorite song in the album. Powerful ending.
Tfw Ville goes full-on, deadass Nattramn from Silencer.
Oh god, I need new underwear, this is so good lmao
Kuolevan auringon alla kaikki on kaunista...
This line gives me chills everytime I listen to this song
Great song, great band
I don't know how to fuckin' thank you for this. I needed this track so much in youtube... thanks again
Sounds like Ifing on "Against This Weald"!
Awesome
When I hear the flow of music after first minute, I can see in my imagination a massive black vulture flying over the medieval battlefield
For me too the music of Moonsorrow is really visual. What i see listening to Pimeä is a post-apocalyptic earth with smoke and fire over a wasteland and ash raining down with a glimmer of sunrays piercing the ash clouds. Occasional fiery meteors raining down and a raven sitting on a dead oak. And the last survivor of mankind walking in the midlle of all this, finally falling down to his knees and feeling the earth with his hands, almost giving up... almost.
looking at the direction that mankind is heading - your vision may not be so far rom reality. Greetings! you certainly know the way with words
if you were not afraid of dark, after listening to this song you are!
Fear of darkness isn't real. It's the unknown you fear, that may be hiding in the dark. The sooner you realize and understand that, the sooner you'll get over your senseless fear of darkness.
...Until you hear that hysterical scream of Ville, then you'll shit brix even in broad daylight.
this isnt scary, circle takes the squares enter by the narrow gates is way scarier, thatll make you afraid of the dark! Or im this case afraid of the unknown as Bjorn Metal puts it.
Pretty cool
Hieno coronabiisi 😎
Beyond darkness
A nyelv nem biztos hogy közös,de a zene 5 csillag.
Fucking good song \,,,/
This sons is for the final war between the wolfs and white walkers
2:15 foolish scream
Why are their studio records are much better than live performances?
I think the studio records include so many folk instruments that they are hard to arrange live and therefore the soundscape isn't quite as unique and the same atmosphere is hard to reach. I saw Moonsorrow in summer and they were good though
I've attended a few concerts of various bands, they were never the same, and almost always worse than their studio recordings. For one, I suppose touring around is tiring, maybe some drink more than they should, or something, so their performance isn't a 100%. But that's a smaller problem, the bigger is the shitty sound technicians who can't do their job properly.
Last time i saw them live, it was pretty much as good as it gets. It think it just needs the right circumstances to work.
I always preferred the studio than live.
Saw then @ Tampere Metal Meeting, they were excellent, the crazy local crowd helped as well.
Nos nem azért mondom,de ha ma születne Verdi,Vivaldi,hát bizony kapaszkodhatna.......
English lyrics would be so cool :(
Here's a quick translation. I wish I could use more time to find more suitable expression to catch all the poetic subtleties of the original lyrics, but this will have to do now.
Pimeä (Dark)
Step into the hall of perdition
To here not even the shadows shall call you
Can you hear, do you feel anything at all?
Someone breaths intensely, gasping for air
The whispers, they echo endlessly
But you know there is no one here
And so the terror keeps sneaking, no matter where you'll hide it
Or your life should you leave behind?
In this world there is nothing
No life left in the emptiness
Those who you are scared of do not fear anything
You are alone not knowing where you are
(the clean vocals)
Quiet steps echo in the deep waters
Under the dying sun everything is beautiful
Under the trees and the dead branches
you sit listening to the dead birds
The night will not grant you hope for anything
Your body shivers from cold
and you can't find your way back
when your eyes finally get used to the dark
(clean vocals)
The quiet steps echo in the deep waters
Counting the hours the dusk moves as shadows
Raindrops shatter a trail at the edge of the world
Under the dying sun everything is beautiful
In this world there is nothing
No life left in the emptiness
Those who you are scared of do not fear anything
You are alone not knowing where you are
and your eyes are used to the dark
Once again a lost one presses his/her hands into the moss
(clean vocals)
Raindrops shatter the trail at the edge of the dark
Tomorrow everything under the sun shall be dead

There's an official translation of it, originally provided on the band's website, you can look it up on MetalArchives.
