Man, this is great. I am following you since ages. This is, what life should be. Not just a desire, 99,99% of us will never be able experience. Instead we're running our jobs to make money and hope being able to pay for vacation once a year. If i had a chance, i would instantly switch my current life for something similar. Yet here I sit in Germany, where i'm not even allowed to stay over night in a forest if it does not belong to me. Watching these videos is pure joy and keeps me sane. Keep it up and never stop!

Mr. James, when you toasted up that "pie" with the fry bread, homemade cheese, and barbecued bear meat, I just about swallowed my tongue. It was great to see it again. It was a good thing I had recently eaten breakfast, tho. My favorite parts of the year were watching you plan out, plant, and bring to fruition that huge garden. This was followed by cooking in the forest kitchen, the camping trip, Cali's Pond, and building the screened porch. Then there were just the many well-chosen, high-def shots of serene wild country. Watching the sun rising and setting, the foliage of every color I can imagine, the water flowing in myriad courses takes me all but there. The bird calls, trickling, crackling, the wind sighs, and insect songs complete the experience.
How you do everything you do and then film it all as you're doing it is amazing. I love watching! God bless you and keep you and Cali safe out there in the boonies by yourselves.

When I saw you with that turkey on the table, taking off the feathers, I imagined how I would have to take a few deep breaths before starting to prepare the bird for dinner. I know I COULD DO IT, but I'd have to let go of the resistance toward seeing the reality of it, unfamiliar with slaughtering due to city life and buying meat ready to put in the pan. I've always felt that this way of living, foraging, hunting, for one's food, for the family or tribe, is the honest way proper. I'm sure that spending more time in the wilderness, like you've done already for quite a number of years, and provide for oneself, shelter, warmth, and food, helps to grow into it more, with ease and confidence. And to use the feathers, the parts of an animal that aren't edible, is awesome. Never let any useful material go to waste, in those conditions, isn't it?
