@@gregpenny4384 So true. A lot of these videos are like 'oh just find some bone dry cedar bark' This was the reality. A soggy mess. My firemaking kit involves a saw, knife for splitting and a Bic with a cotton based firestarter as insurance. Gotta get that dry wood from inside thicker material. These are by far the most life-like survival episodes I've seen. Our northern European terrain, although it may appear and act wild from time to time, has been stripped of natural resources over centuries of rural living, leaving us with a landscape often bear of possibilities for anyone wanting to practice their skills. Julius is so skilled and knowledgeable that scratching out a very meagre existence is almost possible. Well done on how realistic and well-presented your videos are. Your point on the lack of resources is interesting and I tend to believe it. In north America we have large swaths of wild lands where one can still get in real trouble and vastly more resources.

Your bow drill technique has improved so much. I used the hand drill almost exclusively for 6 years. Your commentary described the process perfectly. Go slow and build your heat. Then start applying pressure at first sign of smoke. Happy to see the progress
I am no expert by any means when it comes to bush-craft/survival experiences, though I watch alot of content related to it since it interests me so much. Unfortunately there are very limited locations to actually employ things I have wanted to attempt for a while now myself since I am currently livin' here in Dublin. I have noticed though, ALOT of survival videos from people from all different locations, who have been doing challenge after challenge and series after series, and getting the bow drill very VERY wrong. They go nuts on it straight away trying to rush their ember, instead of doing what you're supposed to and slowly and steadily building it up as you described. In the end it causes what should have been like, a half hour of work to turn into several hours of failed attempts before they just get lucky.
@Alan Hughes yup and as cheesy as it sounds, that coal is so delicate.. it's first breath should really be the air around it. Blowing on it should be to move air towards it and create a current. Not to blow your CO2 on it.

YAY!!!! Been loving the roundhouse stuff BUT it's so good to see another "survival challenge" type video! Wishing you folks all the best and super excited to see what comes next!!
Using a fire steel is never cheating, I think. Especially in extremely wet conditions like these… getting a fire started when it’s this wet is mighty difficult, so that’s very impressive in of its own. Much respect!
This is a brilliant video. It really shows me the value of skills and more so, knowledge. Also, makes me appreciate a lot of the kit I like to play with. No kit seems to be so much more difficult.
Issue with glass is uneven heat. It needs to be heated up evenly on all sides, if there is too great of heat discrepancy it loves to break. Fill jar with water and drop in hot stones, that should be enough insulation with water to not break the glass.
Wow, you actually taught me some things I didn't know! We got stinging nettle everywhere around my property. After walking through it and not knowing what it was at the time, I would've never guessed it was edible. I don't mind the sting in "small doses" guess you could say but I'm gonna have to try it some time now lol.
Nettle was used as long as man existed. Vikings brought it with them when settling in Greenland. Leafs are nutritious, cooked as soup burning disappears and fibres can be used for cloth.
make sure you gather them with gloves and you can put them over the fire for a few seconds to burn off the stinging needles... or just plop them into hot water that you will boil, either way works for getting rid of the stings. you can use nettle for string aswell but it needs quite a bit of mucking around to make
this is one of the most detailed and well edited survival video i've found so far and I find you really entertaining and i want to thank you for that. You earned a subscriber!
22:43 I looked into it. It may just be best to move the glass further away from the fire. It looks to be the temperature change in the glass that causes it to break. In the fire it gets much hotter than the 100C you need to boil the water. You could also possibly use some rocks to shield the glass from the fire a little to control the heat. What sort of food were you planning on? Were you looking to use fish traps?
This was so fun to watch, i used to always dream of attempting to do this but ive never had the motivation or the knowledge that i have now back then, Top quality video.

First video I’ve watched of yours, and all I can say is just wow. Really enjoyed every minute of this video and way to underrated. Thank you for making tour videos so realistic and enjoyable to watch
Very impressive. So much to learn from. I was also impressed to see you clean up your camp sites, very noble gesture back to nature, something i will always keep in mind.
One of the best, entertaint and educational survival video i've ever found ! Please, made more a video like this ❤
This is so real, respect how you cleaned up after . Real bushman
Amazing you got the bowdril Julius. And you made the right decission reaching for other method of firestarting. Another fantastic and very valuable video.

This is awesome.
That you did this alone from start to finish is amazing

Nice re-edit Julius. A valuable experience. Thanks for sharing. 👍
I knew I had watched it some time ago... thanks for not making me feel stupid😂
I like it. Subbed. Honest , no BS, just showing the struggle as it realy is.
i think these are the most informative survival videos ive ever seen, well done.
Honestly as a new viewer I love the vibe and energy that's coming from you bro, I cant believe you're only at 238k subs, because when I watched the video I thought you had at least 2m subs just from the vibe you're giving off, great content😎
I remember watching you guys a few years ago, I’m glad to see that you’re getting the recognition you guys deserve ❤
Hard not to route for Julious. He seems like such an authentic dude.
You are are great man I will follow your escapades from now due to your honesty and humbleness
I honestly never seen a 1 hour video with so many real survival things personally I sub. Make sure to stay safe so you can keep uploading these crazy amazing video and I'll be watching in the future 👍👍
Bro absolutely 💯 best survival videos on UA-cam. Watching you had got me back out in nature wild camping with my daughter for the first time after a 5 year break. Amazing stuff cany wait for the next video. 💪 💪 💪
OOOO 3 day redemption attempt?! Yessss! Watching this in it's short form you really see how drained you are at the end of the 6 days, all the exertion with limited calories really tears away at you! The relief on pickup is amazing to see :)

This is a SURVIVAL CHALLENGE! This is what videos need to be! No fake no way too prepared just survival. You are amazing.
Off the bat I liked and subscribed because this is actually high quality content that takes long to make, appreciate everything put into this video ♥️
Extraordinario video de supervivencia, en el si que se ve ser un auténtico superviviente sin tener nada prácticamente, felicidades, un saludo desde España.
I see very little survival content in this climate, very helpful for me as I'm just starting this out as a hobby. You are very easy to watch and have earned another sub from me!
Amazing for your 6-Day SURVIVAL in EXTREME Weather! (Knife & Paracord ONLY) | complete film. Ilove your video.
Wow I like how honest you are , your the definition of honesty is the best policy bless you
Excellent footage, kept a positive focus, plus, using methods not many would think of.Well done!
Dude!! You are Hard-Core! Nice to see some realness to your videos. Finally some real bushcraft skills. Too many bushcrafters on UA-cam in this situation have a tarp somewhere behind the camera they can get into. I can see you are soaked through and those of us that have been there know what thats like and how that feels. Could see your hands shaking too which is like 60% 70% harder to work... fair play brother! Great video! Really nice seeing you work! Well done mate! Keep up the great vids.. keep it 💯 real! 👌👌
Excellent filmography. Excellent content. Well done!
I want to tell you I just found your channel and was so informed and inspired by this video. I loved the way you narrated throughout the entire video speaking perfect English. Looking forward for many more amazing adventures of yours.❤😊
The fact you added the suspense background music makes it way more interesting! Love it
Had a bit rough day today.
But the way you approached the difficulties positively.. it literally made me feel better.
That's nice to hear:)
good video, keep going with this stuff!
Watching your vids for like 1 week now and i love the surviving and the Camping ones the most
Take care of yourself and be healthy!
This is amazing!! To think some people needs crews and loads of people just to make videos like these. You made a whole documentary yourself that's incredible!!!!!!!!!!!
After a long long time I have watch real survival video salute to the host ❤❤❤❤. Best
I guess I'll let my ignorance show, I didn't know Ireland had swamps, lol. Great video. Really fun to watch
Love your videos. Phenomenal effort getting the fire going with the bow drill, Definitely no shame in using your flint. Thanks for posting.
YAY!!!! Been loving the roundhouse stuff BUT it's so good to see another "survival challenge" type video! Wishing you folks all the best and super excited to see what comes next!!
It is nice to see activity on the channel but looking forward to NEW content as opposed to recut older material.
I love this Minecraft lets play, keep it up
Using a fire steel is never cheating, I think. Especially in extremely wet conditions like these… getting a fire started when it’s this wet is mighty difficult, so that’s very impressive in of its own.
Much respect!
Good to see You guys again, I was worried some tthing had happened because of the long break . Gllad Youre back Stay Smooth :)

This is a brilliant video. It really shows me the value of skills and more so, knowledge. Also, makes me appreciate a lot of the kit I like to play with. No kit seems to be so much more difficult.

"Into the swamp we go..." wow. Just wow. Top TOP bushcrafter and survivalist. And so fun to watch. Thank you 😊
Incredible my friend! You are great.
Wat een kanjer ben je! En zo heerlijk optimistisch en grappig!!!
Issue with glass is uneven heat. It needs to be heated up evenly on all sides, if there is too great of heat discrepancy it loves to break. Fill jar with water and drop in hot stones, that should be enough insulation with water to not break the glass.
This was the best video-project you done. i would love more of this only knife stuff.
ua-cam.com/video/HR77RsmLQuw/v-deo.html
Love to see you doing that stuff, that you apperently love. Keeping going
ua-cam.com/video/HR77RsmLQuw/v-deo.html
yours is the first time i have heard a new accent that i had never conceived of before.
the fact that u friends come..its show that he worried about u too..😅..how nice to have a friends there..
Wow, you actually taught me some things I didn't know! We got stinging nettle everywhere around my property. After walking through it and not knowing what it was at the time, I would've never guessed it was edible. I don't mind the sting in "small doses" guess you could say but I'm gonna have to try it some time now lol.
Ye just remember to fold it inwards
Really cool video. Shows the reality of it and not the “glamor”
As a survivor of the mean streets of New berryville Utah Canada.. I support your theory
This was so fun to watch, i used to always dream of attempting to do this but ive never had the motivation or the knowledge that i have now back then, Top quality video.
Great video. you've remind me of what someone once said❤️ "The mind is the man, the poor is in it and the rich is it too". This sentence is the secret of most successful investors. I once attended similar and ever since then i been waxing strong financially, and i most tell you the truth..
Just a researsh quote here: ''the climate impact of bitcoin in 2020 is estimated at 402 kg of CO2 per transaction. This equates to two thirds of the monthly emissions of an average Dutch household (611 kg of CO2 per month)''. That be worth a bit of cryptho profit, folks?

Incredibly badass how you were making fire and how you held on!!!
Awesome survival skills and thanks for the video 💪🏽🙏🏽🫵🏽🇺🇸🇳🇬
Did some survival training in the jungles of south east asia and let me say that the fact that you got a fire going with a bow drill in those conditions, is nothing short of a miracle. Also a stark reminder that any one mistake can literally cost your life.
You created fire, but still needed to use your emergency and was honest about using it. The rain was your enemy. Awesome video 👏👏👏
This is probably the best survival video I've ever seen
I like it when you put on the screen all informations bout plants , trees etc, you see and eat with, more power🤘
That's why we always bring more than one way to start fires in the end I think you made the right choice with the fire starter👍
Dude positive attitude was something else.. Even after everything went wrong dude just keep trying n keep smiling awesome man
This man has such a positive attitude, auto sub and like much love brother
Good call on the "Survivor Man" style music or just survivor show style "African savannah" music or whatever you call it. It is so calming and keeps me watching the video.
Omg, I haven't seen a video from you in forever ❗ glad you popped up again.
I am glad you admitted when you were not able to get the fire started with the bow. Stay warm my friend.
